Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 58: Chapter 54: Lu Li Is Just Too Dominant

Can you do martial arts?

You can harm people with your Inner Strength up close?

Xiaozhao: ”...”

Old Russians: ”...”

Huangmao and the others: ”...”

Upon hearing this, everyone looked at Lu Li with speechless expressions.

What era is this, still believing in martial arts and Inner Power and all that?

Haven’t you seen those so-called martial arts masters like Lei Lei, Teacher Ma with his Lightning Five-Chain Whip, all getting beaten up to a pulp?

It’s no wonder this group of thugs was amused and angry.

Even Xiaozhao, sitting in the car, nearly fell over.

Old Russians thought Lu Li had gone mad and couldn’t be bothered to argue anymore, reaching out to slap Lu Li hard across the face.

Well, when he came here, his boss Yuan Chu had instructed him not to really harm Lu Li.

Therefore, Old Russians didn’t hit hard, he just wanted to give a slap.

The other thugs didn’t take it seriously either. They had seen people like this many times and thought Lu Li would become obedient immediately with a slap.

Who would have thought, an unexpected change happened!

Old Russians had just raised his hand to strike down.

Everyone saw Lu Li seemingly move slightly.

Yes, it just seemed like a move, no clear movement was visible.

It felt like when you’re not paying attention, and suddenly a cat darts past your eyes.

Immediately, Old Russians screamed, his head jerked back, and he fell straight backward.

With a thud, Old Russians fell to the ground, lying there silently.

Huangmao, who initially hadn’t thought much of Lu Li, was stunned upon seeing this.

Xiaozhao, sitting in the car, was bewildered, not understanding what happened to Old Russians.

The other dozen or so thugs looked at each other, puzzled about why Old Russians suddenly lay down on his own.

Huangmao initially thought Old Russians was joking around to amuse everyone.

After all, this guy loved pulling stunts usually.

He went forward, annoyed, and said, ”Old Russians, Brother Monkey ordered us to make it quick...”

Before he could finish speaking, Huangmao saw a terrifying sight!

He saw Old Russians lying on the ground, his nose caved in, blood all over his face, motionless, life or death unknown.

Seeing Old Russians in this state, Huangmao gasped in shock and looked sharply at Lu Li, his voice trembling, ”What... what did you just do?”

Hmm?

Why did Huangmao’s voice tremble a bit?

The other dozen or so thugs were bewildered, looking over at Old Russians lying motionless on the ground.

Looking wasn’t so bad.

Once they looked, the dozen or so thugs were all terrified!

Nobody expected Old Russians to be beaten so miserably!

What kind of group are thugs?

They are bullies who pick on the weak and fear the strong.

This group often relies on numbers to overpower the few.

In reality, when they encounter someone fiercer and more powerful, they often become even more submissive.

Lu Li’s single move left Old Russians unsure of life or death, making this group of thugs realize that this person in front of them was not to be trifled with and extremely ruthless, and fear grew within them.

Everyone suddenly recalled how Lu Li seemed to move just now.

At that time, they thought it was an illusion.

Now seeing Old Russians’ condition, they suddenly realized.

It wasn’t an illusion at all!

It was because Lu Li’s attack on Old Russians was too fast!

So fast their eyes couldn’t catch it!

With this realization, the dozen or so thugs were all scared out of their wits.

Each of them, like cats having their tails stepped on, raised the knives in their hands, staring as if facing a great enemy.

Xiaozhao also immediately detected the anomaly, his eyes widening in shock.

He gazed at Lu Li’s back with disbelief.

He could not imagine that usual, gentle Lu Li possessing such incredible power.

A single punch knocked out the burly guy called Old Russians?

It would be one thing to just knock him out.

But he even beat him beyond recognition!

Lu Li merely showcased a bit of his strength, and everyone on the scene was immediately dumbfounded!

Standing there, as if having done something trivial, Lu Li raised his chin again, ”Who sent you guys?”

Huangmao jumped in fright instinctively, ”No... no one sent us.”

The other dozen or so thugs did not dare make eye contact with Lu Li and hung their heads.

Lu Li chuckled softly, ”No one sent you? We haven’t even met, would you really need to make such a fuss if no one sent you? I have limited patience, let me ask one last time, if you still can’t give me a satisfactory answer, his fate will be the fate of every one of you present!”

Saying so, he pointed to Old Russians lying on the ground, whose fate was unknown.

Hearing this, the thugs were filled with fear and trepidation.

Contrarily, Xiaozhao, who had been terrified to the point of turning pale, couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement, thinking to himself about how dominant the boss was!

Why did Lu Li persistently question who sent the thugs?

Although the car was blocked from the front and back, he could have easily stayed inside, called the police, and relied on the advantage of the car, hitting anyone who dared to approach.

Logically, dragging it out until the police arrived shouldn’t have posed any problem.

At the very least, even if the police didn’t arrive in time, hitting a few thugs would have been doable.

However, Lu Li still got out of the car.

There were two reasons he got out.

The first reason was that Lu Li had a vague feeling that this group of thugs was sent by Vice President Du.

He wanted to ”subdue” these people and make them testify against Vice President Du.

By then, there was a seventy to eighty percent chance that Vice President Du would be thrown in jail for a couple of years.

Hiring a dozen people to commit assault with weapons is not a minor crime.

The second reason? Ever since he unlocked his genes, his body had been evolving day by day, and Lu Li never had the chance to understand his combat abilities.

Today, this group of thugs showed up at his door—wasn’t it the right time to test his strength?

Of course, he wasn’t reckless and didn’t plan to act rashly without thinking. He had brought two needles with him.

If his punches and kicks couldn’t overpower them.

Or couldn’t achieve absolute domination.

Then, these thugs were in for a bad time.

His flying needles were not to be underestimated.

In this current range, their power was comparable to a handgun!

Just as the fight started, Lu Li realized his combat power was unimaginably fierce.

The Old Russians clearly struck first.

The movement of raising his hand to attack had already come out.

Yet in his eyes, this normal strike seemed like Bully Maguire’s Spider-Man fighting in slow motion for the first time.

Lu Li didn’t evade and counter like Bully Maguire.

He swung a quick punch lightly towards the opponent’s face with even greater speed.

Yes, that punch didn’t exert Lu Li’s full strength, at best just thirty percent strength.

Who knew this mere thirty percent strength would cave Old Russians’ nasal bridge into his face!

Lu Li himself was a bit stunned, not expecting his strength to be so terrifying.

”About one or two weeks ago, I just unlocked the gene lock and obtained peak human physique.”

Lu Li mused, ”Now that so many days have passed, and my body kept evolving daily, even if I can’t reach Captain America’s level, I’m likely at least half as strong.”

How powerful is Captain America’s physique?

According to Marvel’s data settings, Captain America’s physique is approximately four times the peak of normal humans.

So Lu Li concluded that his current physique is at least twice the peak of normal humans, maybe more, but still probably less than Captain America.

The group of thugs all stood there, intimidated by Lu Li’s powerful prowess.

Upon hearing the question, none dared to respond.

Lu Li squinted his eyes and asked, ”Who exactly sent you?”

He kept staring at Huangmao, who was directing the group.

Huangmao, under the intense gaze, couldn’t withstand the pressure and stammered, ”It... it was Brother... Brother Monkey...”

Before he could finish, a sharp female voice suddenly came from behind!

”What are you trying to do!”

Hmm?

Why is it her?

Lu Li frowned and glanced back.

Only to see Flaming Babe poking her head from the Maserati’s driver’s seat, loudly scolding the gang, ”In broad daylight, what are you trying to do? I’m telling you, don’t act recklessly, or I’ll call the police right now!”

The thugs, initially pressed by Lu Li’s overwhelming presence, were instantly broken from their fear upon hearing her shout.

They were a group of more than ten people!

Each holding a knife!

No matter how fierce the opponent, he was just one person.

Why should they be afraid?

Thinking of this, the four thugs blocking the road immediately grew more arrogant.

One with triangular eyes pointed his knife at Flaming Babe, ”You dare call the police? Laozi will cut you down right now!”

Flaming Babe was startled, quickly retracting her head into the car.

Still keeping her dignity, she said, ”Brother Lu, don’t be afraid, I’ll go back and get Manager Zhou and the others over right now!”

With that, Flaming Babe sped backward as if there wasn’t even time to turn the car around.

Lu Li didn’t expect Flaming Babe to have the courage to stand up and scold them despite seeing so many armed thugs.

Though she withdrew after a scare, she didn’t cower and instead went back to call Manager Zhou and others.

Admittedly, in such a situation, seeing someone like Flaming Babe stand up would make anyone feel saved, inevitably letting out a breath of relief.

However, Lu Li felt speechless.

He initially planned to force the group to testify against Vice President Du slowly.

If Manager Zhou came with people, there was a seventy to eighty percent chance they’d call the police.

By then, what would he ask them for?

No way!

He must extract information before Manager Zhou arrives!

Lu Li’s eyes flashed with determination, knowing he had to wrap this up quickly!

With that thought, he glared fiercely at Huangmao, ”Are you going to talk? If not, I’ll kill you right now!”
