Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 88: Chapter 80: New Skill

After dinner, Lu Li had a brief chat with Liu Kexin downstairs.

During the conversation, Liu Kexin was full of praise and thanks for the information Lu Li provided to topple Vice President Du.

Eventually, seeing that it was getting late, Lu Li was the first to go upstairs to wash up and prepare for bed.

He lay in bed, constantly suggesting to himself to evolve the superpower of absorbing free energy from the air through his pores.

Thinking about it, Lu Li fell asleep.

He originally thought the evolution would go smoothly.

But for some unknown reason, there was a deviation in this evolution.

In the dream, Lu Li saw the Little Golden Man continuously converging energy beams into the mouth, esophagus, and stomach.

He felt puzzled. Dude, I want to evolve the ability to absorb free energy through pores, why are you converging energy into the mouth, esophagus, and stomach?

Perhaps it was because he didn’t eat much that night.

The energy in the body was not very abundant.

The Little Golden Man finished working in a hasty manner shortly.

...

Nothing happened overnight.

The next morning, he woke up.

Lu Li felt a familiar hunger that he hadn’t experienced for a long time.

He had the urge to eat everything he saw.

For instance, there was a small alarm clock on the bedside table.

Seeing it, he wanted to tear off the iron parts and eat them.

Startled by this thought, Lu Li said to himself, ”Why do I suddenly want to eat iron?”

Looking at the bedside table and other items, he had the same feeling, except for anything plastic.

”Hey, hold on, last night the Little Golden Man evolved my stomach again, and also evolved my mouth and esophagus.”

Lu Li blinked and pondered, ”Does this mean I can eat iron now?”

Or that he could eat things other than normal food and obtain sufficient chemical energy?

He wasn’t sure for now.

After hesitating for a moment, Lu Li gritted his teeth and decided to give it a try.

He picked up the alarm clock and forcefully snapped it.

Broke off a small piece of iron from the left corner.

Threw the iron piece into his mouth.

Lu Li sat there chewing and swallowing.

This small iron piece, which was said to be iron, was actually steel material.

Crunch, crunch.

Whether it was due to the evolution of his mouth.

Lu Li’s teeth were particularly good today; with continuous chewing and swallowing, he managed to chew the small iron piece into many small fragments.

”My goodness, this steel piece is only about a millimeter thick, but according to the physics formula, it takes a thousand newtons of force, about 102 kilograms, to break it, normal human bite force can’t reach this high, and I’m not even using all my strength to chew, yet my bite force exceeds the limit of one millimeter steel?”

Lu Li was startled by his own bite force.

The bite force of a normal human is between 22.4 kilograms to 68.3 kilograms.

The highest possible is only about 80 kilograms.

Now, how much has my bite force reached?

At least over 102 kilograms!

There’s nothing surprising about the hardness of teeth being above that of steel.

According to the Mohs hardness scale, steel hardness is about level six.

The enamel hardness of human teeth can reach as high as level seven.

Theoretically, enamel can break steel.

In reality, human bite force isn’t sufficient to accomplish this.

Lu Li didn’t have the time to worry about how strong his bite was.

He cautiously swallowed the chewed-up iron piece.

Lu Li immediately activated his X-ray vision to check his stomach.

If there were any problems, he would go to the hospital immediately.

To his surprise, as soon as the iron piece reached the stomach, it was instantly digested, just like ordinary food.

”Huh?”

Lu Li was a bit confused.

He continued to observe.

The next moment, a surge of energy rose from his stomach.

This energy far exceeded what the same mass of food would produce, estimated to be about four times more.

”Whoa!” Lu Li was shocked, ”I can generate energy from eating iron? And it’s about four times that of eating normal food?”

This discovery delighted him.

Lu Li found out that eating iron was fine.

His courage grew significantly.

He simply disassembled the alarm clock.

Ate the thinner steel pieces inside.

As for the thicker ones, not even his teeth could bite through them.

Ultimately, he had no choice but to give up.

”It seems that eating steel isn’t a good option.”

Lu Li felt full after eating half the alarm clock, and his body’s energy was temporarily sufficient.

However, he discovered a fatal weakness, which is that he can only eat thin steel, the thick ones are temporarily out of the question.

Of course, Lu Li also discovered an advantage, ”Since I have no problem eating iron, and my mouth, esophagus, and stomach have evolved, does that mean that even if I drink poison in the future, I can still be safe and sound?”

He thought it should be this way, after all, steel sheets can’t scratch him, and normal poison probably can’t corrode him either.

In other words, the evolution of his mouth, esophagus, and stomach this time has given him the ability to be ”immune to all poisons.”

At least anything he eats that’s poisonous shouldn’t be able to poison him.

Hmm, maybe he won’t get drunk anymore in the future.

Of course, he definitely won’t try it to see if it’s true.

Iron pieces can be extracted, but some poisons are irreversible.

Who would joke around with their own life?

”Forget it, let’s not worry about these for now, and think about how to deal with the antiques I acquired.”

Lu Li wanted to cash in the antiques but had no way to sell them.

Uncle Xu, Uncle Liu, and Qin Yuyong didn’t leave their contact information last time either.

He certainly couldn’t ask Qin Liang and then say he wanted to sell antiques to these three people, could he?

Not to mention whether Uncle Xu, Uncle Liu, and Qin Yuyong would even need them.

Just saying, is Qin Liang not busy?

Does everything have to rely on the other party?

Once or twice, maybe.

Could he possibly sell antiques to these three people in the future every time?

Lu Li knew that was unrealistic, ”I must find a safe and quick way to sell them.”

An antique shop is actually an option, but the purchase price is often thirty percent below the market price, which isn’t worthwhile.

As for auctions, although the profit might be higher, the process takes too long.

Lu Li just wanted to get the money quickly, how could he wait so long?

He indeed didn’t know anyone in this field.

”Why not ask Liu Kexin?”

Lu Li thought it was feasible; the other party came from a wealthy family and should know some professionals in this area to some extent.

...

After freshening up a bit.

He went downstairs and saw Liu Kexin eating oatmeal and reading a newspaper.

Lu Li greeted her, ”Good morning, President Liu.”

Liu Kexin glanced at him and then turned her gaze back to the newspaper, ”Good morning. Aunt Huang isn’t here this morning. Why don’t you make yourself some oatmeal?”

”No need, I’ll eat out later.”

Lu Li replied casually.

In fact, he had just eaten more than half an alarm clock, and he wasn’t hungry at all.

He asked, somewhat unintentionally, ”Did Aunt Huang take a leave of absence?”

Liu Kexin kept her head down, ”Yes, her son came from out of town, so she went to accompany him. She won’t be here today or tomorrow.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Li’s mind stirred, wondering if he could take advantage of Aunt Huang’s absence to bond with Liu Kexin over the next two days?

Hmm, better not think about that for now.

Let’s consider serious matters first.

Lu Li sat down next to Liu Kexin.

Before he could speak, Liu Kexin sharply said, ”Why are you sitting so close to me?”

Lu Li didn’t respond to her remark but looked at her with interest, ”President Liu, do you know anyone in Su City who deals in antiques?”

Liu Kexin shook her head, ”No, I don’t.”

Alright then.

He’d have to find a way himself.

Lu Li was about to bid farewell to Liu Kexin and head out.

Unexpectedly, Liu Kexin said in the next sentence, ”My girlfriend’s husband knows a lot of people in Su City, I can call and ask for you.”

Lu Li quickly said, ”Great, thank you.”

Liu Kexin picked up the phone on the table and dialed the number.

After waiting for about seven or eight seconds, the call went through.

With his keen hearing, Lu Li heard a pleasant female voice on the other end, ”Beautiful girl, calling me so early in the morning, what’s up?”

Liu Kexin smiled, ”Can’t I call you for no reason?”

”I don’t believe you’d call me just to chat, you’re never that nice without a reason.”

”How clever, you guessed right. I do have a favor to ask.”

”What is it? Go ahead.”

”Do you know anyone who deals with antiques in Su City?”

”I haven’t really been in contact with anyone who deals with antiques, but my husband’s friend is in the gemstone business. Want me to introduce you?”

Liu Kexin immediately replied, ”No need...”

Lu Li quickly whispered, ”Yes!”

Liu Kexin gave him a curious glance.

She seemed puzzled about how Lu Li knew what her friend on the phone had said.

But the person on the other end was waiting, so she didn’t have time to think about it.

Liu Kexin made a sound of agreement, ”Okay, thank you.”

”You’re being too polite with me,” her friend said. ”Meet me at eight in the morning at Front View Street, and I’ll take you to meet my husband’s friend.”

Liu Kexin frowned slightly, then said, ”Alright, see you at eight.”

After speaking, she hung up the phone.

Lu Li blinked and asked, ”Aren’t you going to work?”

Liu Kexin scooped some oatmeal with a spoon and said, ”I’m a bit tired, so I’ll give myself a half-day off this morning and go in the afternoon without missing anything.”

When you eat, you’re usually busy handling various documents.

Today, you actually took a half-day off just to accompany me to meet your friend and the gemstone merchant?

Lu Li felt quite touched in his heart.

He pondered for a while, worried that she wouldn’t have time to handle her work, and said, ”President Liu, how about you give me your friend’s contact information, and I’ll go by myself...”

Liu Kexin firmly interrupted him, saying, ”No way!”

Isn’t it just meeting your friend alone, why such a big reaction?

Lu Li was baffled by her abrupt change in attitude.

Liu Kexin seemed to realize she had overreacted, quickly added, ”She’s married, and it wouldn’t look good if someone saw her walking alone with a guy. Her husband might get jealous.”

That makes sense, it’s a reasonable explanation.

Lu Li didn’t dwell on the issue any further.

Honestly, at first, he was a bit disappointed when he heard Liu Kexin’s friend didn’t know anyone in antiques.

But it turned out her friend knew a gemstone trader.

He had X-ray vision.

He was already so sharp with antiques.

If he applied it to gemstone trading, wouldn’t he make a fortune?

Hence, Lu Li decided to change his strategy.

He wouldn’t look for ways to sell antiques today.

He planned to see if there was any luck in gemstone trading.

Lu Li secretly hoped, ”With my X-ray vision, I should be able to make a lot of money in gemstone trading, right?”

He believed that as long as there were untouched or windowed stones, he could definitely make a great profit using his X-ray vision!
