Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 73: Chapter 68: The Tycoon Arrives

The next day, in the morning.

Waigaoqiao Porsche Center.

Lu Li had just taken a test drive in that crimson Porsche 911 and felt pretty good about it.

He had just gotten off the car and was preparing to sit down and discuss details with the female sales representative surnamed Zhu from the previous day.

”Mr. Lu, please have a seat.” The female sales rep was very courteous and pulled out a chair for Lu Li. ”Would you like something to drink?”

Lu Li sat down casually, ”Anything’s fine.”

The female sales rep tentatively asked, ”Is coffee okay?”

Lu Li responded, ”Sure, thank you.”

The female sales rep turned to make some coffee.

As she walked away, she occasionally glanced back at Lu Li.

To be honest, she was really surprised Lu Li came back.

Or rather, she didn’t really expect Lu Li to actually buy a car.

After all, he looked young and dressed quite simply.

He didn’t seem like someone who could afford a luxury car like the Porsche 911.

The reason she attended to him was purely out of professionalism.

What surprised the sales rep was that even before she came to work today, she received Lu Li’s appointment message to buy a car.

This unexpected message filled the sales rep with joy.

She never thought that Lu Li, who was indeed very good-looking but dressed quite ordinarily, would actually be willing to spend over two million to buy a car.

”You really can’t judge a book by its cover, just like you can’t measure the sea with a cup.”

The sales rep secretly marveled, thinking Lu Li looked even more attractive.

Lu Li sat there, contemplating.

After reaching an agreement on the collaboration yesterday, he was invited to stay overnight by Qin Liang.

Originally, after breakfast, he planned to leave and sort out the taxes.

But today is Sunday, the tax bureau is closed, so he couldn’t do it.

”I’ll take the morning off tomorrow to handle the taxes, then go to the DMV to get the license plate.”

As he thought about it, Lu Li’s mind wandered back to active evolution.

”I wanted to actively evolve into ’Transformation Technique’ before but nothing happened. I thought maybe it was a lack of energy. But I ate so much yesterday and stored a lot of energy in my body. Why is there still no sign of evolution?”

He felt somewhat puzzled.

Little Golden Man was clearly gathering energy rays throughout his body.

Yet he couldn’t feel even a tiny bit of evolutionary sign.

If there was any change, it was the bone pain he felt starting last night.

Perhaps because Little Golden Man was incessantly working, he also felt drained of ”spirit”.

This ”spirit exhaustion” wasn’t mental fatigue.

But an indescribable sense of weariness.

As if it came from the depths of his soul.

”What exactly is going on?”

Lu Li was still deep in thought.

Suddenly, the female sales rep returned.

She put down the mug and sat down, smiling enthusiastically, ”Mr. Lu, please enjoy.”

”Thank you.” Lu Li brought his thoughts back to the present, took a sip of the coffee, and got straight to the point: ”If I buy the car, how much of a discount can you give me?”

Since early last year, the price of Porsche has been steadily declining.

The sales rep hadn’t made a sale this month, so when she saw Lu Li’s interest in buying, she wasn’t about to play coy. She sincerely said, ”Currently, I can offer you a maximum discount of one hundred and five thousand. Additionally, if you do make a purchase, I could throw in safety equipment, a car model, a key ring, and floor mats, etc., with gifts worth about thirteen thousand nine hundred.”

Lu Li wasn’t too satisfied with this offer. ”I asked a friend yesterday, and he said last year’s year-end sale at Porsche had a maximum discount of 17% off. You’re only offering a discount of one hundred and five thousand; isn’t that too little?”

”That 17% discount was for year-end promotions, usually not this high.” The sales rep cautiously replied, ”If you feel the discount isn’t enough, I can talk to the manager and see if I can get you a better deal.”

Lu Li nodded, ”Alright, go talk to your manager. Make sure to give me the best discount possible.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll do my best to get you a better deal.”

The sales rep stood up to find the manager.

Lu Li sat and waited a little longer.

About ten minutes later.

The sales rep returned with a middle-aged man in a sharp suit.

The middle-aged man approached with a wide smile and extended his hand, ”Mr. Lu, hello, hello! I’m Zheng Feng, the manager here. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Lu Li shook his hand, ”Hello.”

Manager Zheng sat down with the female sales rep and frowned, ”Xiaozhu just mentioned you want more of a discount. To be honest, the biggest discount we can offer right now is around 12%. Any more would be difficult, but I can give you some extra gifts to make up for it.”

Lu Li negotiated with them, gently pressing for more.

Ultimately, he managed to get a 15% discount.

Finally, Mind Reading Technique picked up on the low price, and seeing no further reduction was possible.

Lu Li nodded in agreement, ”Okay, let’s sign the contract.”

Manager Zheng was overjoyed, ”Alright, Mr. Lu, please wait. I’ll have someone prepare the contract.”

Because of the 15% discount, Lu Li ended up spending a total of over 2,638,000.

The discounted price of the car itself came to over 2,210,000.

Taxes, luxury car taxes, and compulsory insurance added up to just under 400,000.

There was also around 30,000 for commercial insurance.

Much cheaper than expected.

After receiving the temporary license plate, Lu Li drove away in his newly purchased Porsche 911.

Yeah, yesterday I didn’t get a chance to buy luxury goods.

Today, I’ve got some time.

Saved a lot of money on the car purchase.

He’s decided to treat himself to some ”gear”.

...

In the Jing’an District.

Jinling West Road Henglong Square.

This is one of the largest luxury shopping destinations in Shanghai.

It gathers major world-renowned brands like Hermes, LV, Dior, Prada, etc.

Hermes.

”How much is this black briefcase?”

”The Cityhall38 briefcase is priced at 69,800.”

”Alright, I’ll take it.”

Spent around 100,000 at Hermes.

Of course, for Hermes, you need to match goods, so he hasn’t received it yet. It’ll be delivered in a few days.

Then, Lu Li went to the Dior flagship store.

With the weather getting hotter, it’s time to get some new clothes.

”How much is this black T-shirt?”

”7,400.”

”Can I try it on?”

”Generally, if you’re not buying, we don’t provide try-on services, because it’ll add to the wear and tear of the clothes... But, I see you have an extraordinary aura, celestial fullness, not an ordinary person. A genius of rare luck in a hundred years, so I suppose trying it on isn’t a problem.”

Alright, the latter half is Lu Li’s own imagination.

The first part of what the sales associate said implied they didn’t really agree to try-ons, but the second part implied with a turn that she agreed.

He could guess why, simply because he held several Hermes shopping bags.

Most luxury stores have this little quirk.

For instance, when you walk in, the sales associates scan you up and down with scrutinizing eyes.

Although they’re all smiles, it feels like they’re secretly judging you in their minds.

Plus, in luxury stores, it’s rare to see the prices right away.

Most importantly, if you walk in with a well-dressed wealthy woman,

The sales staff would easily swarm around the wealthy woman.

While you find yourself with no one attending to you.

Some might say it’s the traditional virtue of ”respecting the old and cherishing the young.”

Lu Li didn’t see it that way. He understood that whether you receive enthusiastic service in a luxury store depends on whether you walked in with a card-worthy face.

Clearly, he qualified.

The Hermes shopping bags in his hand were the best proof of wealth.

This made Lu Li sigh, realizing that a few high-end shopping bags could make others view you differently.

Ultimately, Lu Li did a sweep through the luxury stores at Henglong Square.

Spent a good 300,000 to 400,000 before stopping.

Causing the luxury store sales staff to exclaim, ”A wealthy god has arrived.”

Their attitude couldn’t have been warmer.

Yeah, this amount of money was originally intended for the car purchase.

Who knew the discounts would be so significant, saving him 300,000 to 400,000.

Seeing he saved so much money, Lu Li naturally spent it on luxury, wanting to spruce himself up a bit.

Apart from buying several outfits for himself, he also bought a couple of sets for his father and mother.

Got money.

Can’t just enjoy it alone.

It’s important to care for the parents who raised you.

Lu Li is very filial, at the very least, he remembers his parents’ clothing sizes.

Although he spent quite a bit, he didn’t feel bad about spending on his parents.

The dude’s not short on money!
