Divine Emperor of Death

2495 Dagger At The Eye

After dealing with Lereza and returning with the treasure he got, Davis finally headed to the seventh floor and appeared inside the Nurturing Life Formation. He saw Evelynn, Isabella, and Mira sitting in a triangular formation as they meditated to get themselves ready.

They opened their eyes and couldnʼt help but notice the look on his face.

He seemed rather happy as though he had gotten a treat, which also caused them to naturally smile amidst the tense atmosphere.

After all, they were about to do something only evil cultivators did, which is...

... blood essence extraction from a living person.

Even though they had Miraʼs consent, it still didnʼt feel right to them. It felt like they were torturing their own child, and there was more and more hesitation on their faces as they neared the time.

”Mira, are you ready?”

However, there was one among them who really didnʼt give a crap as she stood up and patted her bouncing peaks.

”I, Mira Ruth, donʼt go back on my words! Iʼm ready anytime!”

Mira responded to Davisʼs words with no hesitation in her voice.

”This... husband...” Suddenly, Isabella couldnʼt help but voice out, ”... do we really have to do this...?”

Davis turned to look at her, his lips curving into an astonished smile.

”Yes, my dear Empress. Isnʼt that why you waited?

”I did...” Isabella nodded her head. However, there was a trace of hesitation in her eyes as she turned to look at Mira, ”... but I canʼt bear watching-”

”Then go out for some time. Iʼll call you after extracting Miraʼs blood essence. According to Mira, you would receive the blood essence first anyway.”

Davis spoke in an unconcerned voice, causing Isabella to shiver. She stood up and strode to the exit to leave. However, she stopped halfway as she clenched her fist, her expression churning with determination as she suppressed

”No... Iʼll stay. Iʼll witness the cruelty... that is being induced for myself.”

Davisʼs eyes flashed with an apologetic glint as he saw her trembling back. There was no way Isabella would be capable of harming her own people she loved. He had seen it in two fates with his own eyes. However, his face also made an expression of determination.

”Thatʼs the way, Isabella. Although I understand your emotions, as I probably wouldnʼt be able to do the same thing to Nadia, I will tell you that thereʼs nothing wrong with doing something as long as you gain the other partyʼs consent and you are convinced that it is alright to proceed. I am convinced by Miraʼs determination, so Iʼm only waiting for you since youʼre her mother-like existence.”

Isabella took a deep breath, her big bosoms heaving before she turned around and had a cold look on her face.

”Weʼll move ahead.”

”Mistress, thanks for believing in me. Donʼt worry. I wonʼt die with master caring for me.”

Mira was as cheerful as ever. Her confident expression was also a trait of an Emperor-Tier Beast, but her reliance on him made Davis smile wryly.

”Donʼt count on my amateur skills. Iʼve only extracted blood essence a few times, but this is the first time Iʼm extracting one from a living person. Itʼs going to be extremely painful, Mira, so clench your teeth and endure as long as you can. If you faint, I will discontinue.”

”Yes!”

Mira clenched her fists. It could be seen that she was nervous but wasnʼt afraid, perhaps because she had faith in her thick scales and giant dragon body to endure pain.

”Well, before we move on... we might need some motivation and reason as to why we happen to need blood from Mira at all in the first place.”

*Whoosh!~*

Davis waved his hand, and a bunch of people appeared in the Nurturing Life Formation. Their background seemed to be different as their clothes varied in color, but they were all lying in a flat pose with their back against the ground, seemingly knocked out with their faces warped in horror.

However, the effects of the Nurturing Life Formation gradually made their warped expression turn to normal, and some even started regaining their consciousness, their eyelids flickering as they woke up as though they had a hangover, holding their heads in pain while their eyes deliriously looked around or focused on the ground.

”You... Emperor of Death!”

However, suddenly one of them noticed and pointed towards Davis but realizing his audacious finger, he hurriedly dropped his hand and prostrated himself on all four limbs, and smashed his head on the ground.

”Forgive this lowly soul, your eminence! Your humble subject knows his wrongs!”

Hearing that personʼs horrified voice, the others also quickly jumped and did the same without question.

None of them had the courage to go against him after witnessing what happened in the West Ascendance Monument. They were scarred for life.

”Traitors of the Grand Beginnings Continent, do you really think I will forgive and leave you alive?”

Davis couldnʼt help but coldly laugh at their hopeful nature. If anything, he expected them to make a last stand, but it seemed like he had his expectations set too high. He shook his head and raised his hand, his finger pointing to the first person who pointed at him.

An arc of an electrifying black-silver shot past that person.

*Bang!* but his entire arm exploded into a shower of blood.

”Ahhh!”

”Emperor of Death...! Please forgive me! I will be useful to you and will do anything to make you forgive me! Please give me a chance!”

”Yes, please give us a chance- Aaahhh!!!”

*Bang!~*

That personʼs arm also exploded upon being unable to take the impact of the heavenly lightning. The heavenly lightning strand couldnʼt even enter and wreak havoc in their flesh before it destroyed them.

Everyoneʼs expressions trembled with horror as they witnessed the extreme prowess of the Emperor of Death. Moreover, his heavenly lightning, which was oppressive in nature, also caused their bodies to be unable to put up any form of resistance.

On the other hand, Davisʼs brows couldnʼt help but twitch. Even though he lowered his prowess by a great margin, they were still unable to endure his lightning? And they had the gall to work against him...?

He once again shook his head, unable to believe their audacity.

”I granted you all a chance to live when I unwittingly saved you all from the Vacuous Beasts, so I already gave you people a chance to be loyal to your origin. Itʼs a pity that greed and jealousy always have to cloud oneʼs judgment...”

Davisʼs words were like heavenʼs judgment to them at this moment when their lives were in his hands. Their expressions turned terrified that some even pissed themselves, unable to take the pressure as they were unable to control their new immortal bodies. But there were others who were also determined to escape.

*Whoosh!~*

A black-robed person abruptly shot towards Isabella, his gaze and expression appearing as if his life depended on this one moment. Prompted by him, a few others also suddenly took action as they jumped at Evelynn.

”How dare you!?”

Miraʼs expression churned with rage as she shot toward that black-robed person who targeted her master but suddenly, she suddenly came to a halt as she was locked in place. To her shock, she saw that it was Davis who locked her with his ultimate pressure.

However, the black-robed person continued to charge toward Isabella and appeared in front of her, and punched out.

Darkness energy swiveled out of his fist and crashed against Isabella with a corrosive force.

However, Isabella already had her fists raised as brownish-golden energy surged from her palms. They created a strong, defensive barrier.

”A mere immortal with trash immortal vessels dares to harm me?”

Just as Isabella uttered with disdain, her eyes noticed her barrier crack at its weak point as the black-robed person entered a point-blank range.

ʼAn assassin...!ʼ

Her eyes narrowed as she saw a curved dagger with a sharp gleam heading her way, slicing through her earthen energy.

The black-robed person couldnʼt help but smirk as he saw this scene. Once he was able to slice the slightest bit of her flesh, the terrifying poison he possessed should be able to take root and allow him to successfully take her hostage.

However, he knew that this beauty was the Earth Dragon Queen, so he attacked with full force while utilizing what his power even gave him to the fullest.

But suddenly, his smirk froze as the golden-robed beauty in front of him reached her hand out towards him and grabbed his wrist, stopping him in place before he suddenly felt himself being flipped.

*Boom!~*

Isabella swung her arm with all her might as her fist landed on the black-robed personʼs face. With a bone-crushing ring, his face turned into mush as he was directly thrown to the ground, his legs going all the way up before powerlessly falling to the ground.
