Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2455 Core Disciple

Long black hair flowed down till her waist, and some strands even laid freely on her shoulders. She possessed pale-gray skin like an undead, wearing black robes that partly revealed a bit of cleavage. One of her long grayish-pale legs was also visible through the edge of her skirt, exuding boundless charm, while her luxurious appearance as a spirit suggested a regal countenance.

She was standing amongst the crowd, silently gazing at the battle, gazing at him with some shock on her face, probably astounded towards his defense.

Nonetheless, such a figure brought forth a bit of nostalgia to Davisʼs heart, and there was a bit of relief to know that she was still alive. He wouldnʼt have found her if not for the afterimages of Goren Azuremark appearing over his path, which made Davis keep track of those afterimages but directly behind one of those illusory afterimages was Nightveil.

He was almost stumped to see an illusion of her, thinking that it was just a random person from the Dynastic Evernight Phantasm Spirit Clan, but upon closer look, he instantly found out that she ninety percent resembled Nightveil in his mind.

Fortunately, it didnʼt seem like she had remained near the epicenter of the Vacuous Beast invasion. Or else, she mightʼve died.

However, the journey from the epicenter to the Aurora Cloud Gate was a long one. It would take months to appear here, even if one was a Level One Immortal Stage expert, so he guessed that she had some encounters which led her here.

”You… did you use supportive treasures of any kind?”

Goren Azuremark finally asked after scanning Davis. However, he was unable to find anything.

”Youʼll find out now as itʼs my turn.”

Davis returned his gaze to Goren Azuremark as he chuckled, ”However, do you want to admit defeat before I make a move? Iʼll attack with the same force you attacked me. At that time, donʼt blame me for being ruthless since itʼs you who wanted to teach me a lesson.”

”Nameless junior brother. If you think you can beat me is going to be as easy as you did before, youʼre gravely mistaken.”

Goren Azuremarkʼs eyes narrowed, causing Davis to nod.

”Then Iʼll take that as a no. We have no enmity, so Iʼll hope you wouldnʼt be stupid enough to pursue this matter once it ends.”

”Of course. No one would be holding a grudge over a promotion battle, especially with a junior...”

Goren Azuremark spoke in a prideful tone as he lightly smiled. However, why was he feeling uneasy over some outer disciple who had just become an inner disciple?

This uneasiness in his heart abruptly exploded when he saw Davis disappear from his gaze.

”…!?”

He lifted his head and looked above, catching the sight of his opponent bursting out with dark crimson flames. Instantly, his pupils dilated.

”Blazing Thunderlight Kirinʼs flames! Who are you?”

However, his shout was met with searing hotness that gathered above him and behind those dark crimson flames was a sharp gaze that appeared like it could turn him to dust. The dark crimson flames surged from Level One Immortal Stage prowess to Level Three Immortal Stage in an instant. However, it didnʼt stop as it reached Level Five Immortal Stage in prowess, causing him to become even more shocked.

Quickly reacting to it, he circulated the energies within his dantians, driving them out as he gathered all three energies from his body.

Immortal essence energy, immortal martial energy, and immortal soul force all surged from his body and churned into azure green flames emerging in front of his palms before he launched them at Davis. He appeared to be even faster than his opponentʼs conjuring time, the azure flames exploding with an immense might as they turned into a beam that shot like a bolt of lightning towards him.

At that moment, Davis also pressed down with his hands, his palms controlling the dark crimson flames as they descended.

*Bang!~*

The azure and dark crimson flames clashed, and the heaven and earth energy present within the battle stage shuddered between their might!

However, the crowd became shocked to find the azure flame beam rapidly dissipating upon clashing with the dark crimson flames.

”Damn it- Aahhhhh!!!”

Goren Azuremarkʼs expression fell as he cursed, but before he could even retreat, the dark crimson flames engulfed him, causing him to scream out in intense pain. He was being burnt alive, his skin charring as though he was being cremated inside a smoldering coffin.

ʼThe control I have over my power isnʼt hundred percent...ʼ

Davis saw that he had used a bit more power than necessary and waved his hand. Instantly, the Blazing Thunderlight Kirin flames he had conjured dispersed like the wind.

At the same time, a crispy smoked fragrance spread all over the battle stages, causing countless eyes to churn, stomachs to turn, and mouths to water. After all, there were also magical beasts here. Upon inhaling the cooked meat of a human, their mouths became somewhat parched.

However, it was only temptation. They suppressed it within their hearts.

But their eyes couldnʼt help but tremble as they saw a naked, charred senior brother Goren Azuremark standing on the stage with his mouth wide open, still appearing to be screaming out, yet no voice came out of his mouth.

They were stunned to see that he was also knocked out unconscious, but then Goren Azuremark trembled, seemingly coming out of his painful daze as he fell to his knees and took deep breaths. Raising his charred head that had become bald, his lips trembled as he cupped his fists.

”Thank you… for showing… mercy...”

Breathless words came out of Goren Azuremarkʼs mouth before he collapsed.

People became shocked to see this scene, and just as they raised their voices in shock, a few people jumped out from their side and landed beside Goren Azuremark to help him up. They glared at Davis before they took him away.

Everyone had seen Davis waving his hand to cancel out his attack, so it was clear that it held more power than necessary to burn Goren Azuremark alive.

The crowd was in utter silence over this matter, unable to believe that this disciple who had supposedly lucked out was this powerful. They didnʼt expect him to play the sheep that eat the tiger.

”Now then, Iʼve achieved the requirements to become a core disciple. Next, where can I find a true disciple?”

Davis placed his hand over his head and looked around as though he was looking for a true disciple, causing many hearts to skip a beat.

Someone defeated an inner disciple? They would see it almost every week.

Someone defeated a core disciple? They would see it every month.

But someone wants to challenge a true disciple? They would not even have a chance to see that in months!

However, for a disciple to suddenly appear and win challenge after challenge, making his way from an outer disciple to a core disciple, they couldnʼt help but feel their hearts churn with excitement.

For the first time after seeing Davis, they thought there was more to him than it meets the eye.
