Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2486 Worrying Turn

”I see.”

Shirley finished explaining Elliaʼs good deeds to them as she painted the latter as a savior, causing Claraʼs expression to turn slightly complex.

”You finally know how to repay brother, Ellia. Fine, Iʼll reassess you without clouding my eyes with previously defined bias.”

”Thatʼs… reassuring.”

Ellia was momentarily taken aback by Claraʼs arrogance but then remembered that it was only a common sight. Clara was always like this, but in her eyes, she was the problematic little sister who needed to be looked after so that she doesnʼt end up lonely.

Claraʼs lips couldnʼt help but curve slightly again.

”It really is as brother said once upon a time. My princess status means nothing in front of the current you, Ellia. Youʼre far stronger than me. Even if I reach the Immortal Stage, I canʼt match your prowess. I can feel it.”

”Little Clara, youʼre praising me too much.” This time, even Ellia felt her cheeks heat up.

This wasnʼt the Clara she knew. When did the other party learn to compliment?

”In any case...” Clara looked around, noticing something before she turned to look at Davis.

”Brother, you really have too many women.”

Davisʼs brows twitched, ”Is that so?”

Wasnʼt she too blunt, embarrassing him like this? However, the next words she said almost made him flinch.

”Is there no place for me to sit?”

”Ah!” Esvele stood up and hurriedly gestured at her seat, ”Donʼt mind me. Iʼm just here to serve senior sister Shirley.”

”Oh… yes. Esvele, you come here.” Davis gestured as he summoned new furniture for her.

”…”

This gesture left Esvele stunned, and the gazes that fell on her only sought to make her cheeks blush like an apple. In the end, she obediently followed Davisʼs instructions and sat… beside him.

Davis was sitting alone on a throne-like chair, but Esveleʼs sofa was near to him. This kind of seating really made them wonder who was who as they looked at each other.

Meanwhile, as Davis directed the gazes of the others to Esvele as he gazed at her, his ears remained listening to Clara, who sat beside Shirley but reacted somewhat distant.

Claraʼs face scrunched up ever so lightly as she turned to look at Shirley.

”Sister Shirley, I feel that you are somewhat different.”

”Well, I, too, became an immortal.” Shirley shrugged as though it was a matter of fact. However, the next words Clara spoke pierced her heart.

”Itʼs not that… you give off a similar aura as Ellia does… but itʼs not as uncomfortable as hers...”

”…”

Shirley blinked, not knowing how to respond to her sister-in-law and a good friend who supported her when no one did.

The effort Davis put into catching othersʼ attention away from Clara also failed as they returned their gazes to Clara. This time, their expressions didnʼt look good, looking slightly offended over Claraʼs words.

They had just been saved by Ellia and also came to know her as she interacted with them well. Moreover, Evelynn also confessed that Ellia was the first woman to have actually spent years with him in their childhood, so how could they not look at her in a good light?

Even if Clara was their manʼs little sister, she couldnʼt be this unbridled, right?

Meanwhile, Davis inwardly sighed.

He wanted to remind Clara to read the atmosphere, but the problem wasnʼt that. To be ʼpicking onʼ Shirley, he imagined that Clara noticed the blood tainted with karmic burden because he revived Flamerose and Frostrose.

At this point, he was convinced that the will of the heavens was starting to influence her, causing his heart to swell with anger against the heavens. However, he could only suppress it for a moment and smile.

”Clara, we have something to talk about in private, so make sometime later for me.”

”Iʼll be free anytime, brother.” Clara seemed oblivious as she turned to look at him, ”I read a note outside my room saying that we finally reached a safe place called the Aurora Cloud Gate, so I want to know what the outside world is like.”

”I see. I understand your eagerness but donʼt go anywhere for now until I determine itʼs completely safe.”

”I… I understand.”

Clara thought for a moment before she obediently listened. Seeing this, the others felt that she was at least not offensive to her brother. They also felt that he was going to discipline her for her offensive words.

However, they had only seen him treat her well. Was he really capable of chastising her? They didnʼt want him to suffer going through that kind of emotion, their expressions becoming complex as they started feeling it wasnʼt much of a problem in the first place as Ellia and Shirley didnʼt say anything.

Nonetheless, the atmosphere soon returned to normal. After a period of further discussion, five more people appeared in the hall from nowhere.

There was Legion Commander Yotan and Vice Commander Threelotus. Not only were their auras different, but their bearings had also improved as they really lived up to their titles and possessed a significant presence among them.

”Learning spirit formations is like tempering oneʼs soul without actually tempering it. In other words, you could see their erudite and solidified nature just by feeling their auras.”

Ellia sent him a soul transmission, causing Davis to understand before he turned to look at his other three subordinates.

First Divisionʼs Legion Captain Praezen, Second Divisionʼs Legion Captain Lightsky, and Third Divisionʼs Legion Captain Starlily had also entered the Immortal Stage while possessing a significant prowess that was capable of allowing them to become inner disciples.

It was all thanks to Epsila, the Spirit-Tier Supreme Ebbing Sigil Pill, that made their souls increase by leaps and bounds in a period of a year.

It was also thanks to Epsila that Natalya, Isabella, Shirley, Fiora, Mingzhi, Zestria, Lea, Tanya, Bylai, Zestria, Sophie, Niera, Tina, Dalila, and Esvele all managed to quickly increase their Soul Forging Cultivations, some having entered the Immortal Stage while the others have pretty much stabilized in the Peak-Level Ninth Stage or neared it.

He couldnʼt help but feel that the decision not to leave Epsila back in the Grand Beginnings Continent was certainly the right one.

”Greetings, Legion Master!”

They greeted him with raised yet respectful voices, causing him to nod before he sent them off to secure the outskirts main mansion for the time being.

His deep aura shook them, and they solemnly obeyed his command while Bylai narrowed her eyes and watched Yotan leave. A certain doubt couldnʼt help but pop up in her mind before she lightly shook her head, feeling that it wasnʼt her place to remind.

Shirley gave Clara an account of what they discussed before in soul transmission before continuing on with everyone.

Soon, Davis finished informing them of his adventure and current plan to make this island belong to them completely while they enjoyed the contribution points from seven or eight true disciples combined.

Everyone was enthusiastic. Even the ones with lesser prowess revealed their plans to become core disciples if he so allowed him.

Davis naturally didnʼt have any objections to this matter, but like for Clara, he asked them to wait for some more time to ensure the capability of the Aurora Cloud Gate, which they found reasonable and well within their limits to suppress their desire of wanting to see the outside world.

”Still, I think weʼve been helped by senior Zora Luan too much. She is our only known ally in the Aurora Cloud Gate who knows insider information. I hope she doesnʼt have an ulterior motive so that we can see eye to eye and perhaps even treat her better later on.”

Clara threw her opinion. Hearing her words in the subsequent discussion, the others also started feeling that she wasnʼt bad because she provided solemn and advantageous ideas to maneuver the Aurora Cloud Gate, or should they say that it was expected of Davisʼs little sister?

”Of course. Whoever helps me risks their lives, but even without that, I intend to repay gratitude with rewards and enmity with slaughter. Itʼs all the same to me.”

Davis shrugged. However, Ellia giggled in response.

”Could it be that I see a romance blooming between a junior brother and a senior sister?”

Her words caused the others to snicker at him.

”Silly Ellia,” Davis blinked before he shook his head, ”As I said before, sheʼs too righteous and rigid in her ways of doing things, so she is only helping me get started like an exemplary senior sister would do for her junior brother. Back then, she also protected nobodies, so I could vouch for her honorable character. Itʼs not like sheʼs doing this because she likes me.”

”Whatever~ Iʼve grown by your side, so I can more or less tell if a woman has a crush on you. Even if Iʼm wrong and she doesnʼt have a crush on you, this is the beginning of it.”

Davis rolled his eyes.

All Ellia had seen was other maids having eyes on him. If they could sleep with him, then they were like carp leaping out of the sea to become a dragon. With such a delicious benefit, which maid wouldnʼt have a crush on him?

The outside world was different. There wasnʼt only one prince fighting for the throne.

However, the women agreed with Elliaʼs words as they blatantly smiled at him as though they were glaring and warning him to be content with them alone.

Davis couldnʼt help but chuckle.

”If nothing goes wrong, I should be able to marry one of you in three weeksʼ time. I know I made some reservations with words but just in case, whoʼs it going to be? Niera? Sophie?”

”Eh…”

Finally hearing what they had wanted to hear for a long time but hadnʼt expected to be brought up at this moment, Niera and Sophieʼs cheeks became crimson as they blushed heavily amidst the teasing gazes of their sisters.
