Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2473 Offending The Two Major Powers?

Thousands of disciples watched from within the sect as they saw their sectʼs Immortal Emperor manifesting a mountainous earthen palm at a level that they couldnʼt possibly conceive even with their imagination, let alone use it to send three elders of the Fire Phoenix Clan flying into the distance.

Just before their eyes, three peak existences were sent flying like that.

Even Davisʼs sapphire eyes possessed some yearning at this moment.

ʼThat was a clean slap, done without any bloodshed...ʼ

Rather than a swat, the palm purely swept them away as though it carried them through a horizontal hurricane. The intricacies behind that move were unable to be seen by him as it also contained traces of yin when most earth-based techniques were yang or power-influenced.

That single palm disabled all efforts to reclaim their balance as it sent them flying into the distance as their silhouettes disappeared. It was like they would never return, having reached the other end of the horizon.

This kind of unbelievable gap almost had Davis hissing as he sucked in a cold breath.

Patriarch Killian was also shocked over this maneuver, but not over the aspects behind the move but the action itself. His expression shook with anger as he returned his gaze and pointed at Elder Aradiel Furiose.

”Old man, you dare to offend my Fire Phoenix Clan!?”

”Leave!” Elder Aradiel Furiose waved his hand as his black sleeve fluttered, ”My Aurora Cloud Gate doesnʼt appreciate those who canʼt talk properly. You people also dare to target one of our disciples? I see that you donʼt want your lives.”

”Ridiculous. You want to go to war with the Fire Phoenix Clan and the Earth Dragon Clan for a disciple whom you donʼt know and are suspected of plundering, kidnapping, and, most importantly, a Divergent who will bring ruin to your power?”

”Heh! I donʼt know about others, but you can see how deficient I am in blood essence. My life is nearing an end, and I donʼt care who I am going to offend or which person Iʼm going to protect. As long as theyʼre a disciple of my power, I will step up. As for the Aurora Cloud Gate, a mere flaming chicken wants to threaten us?”

”You…!”

The Fire Phoenix Patriarchʼs expression contorted, his cheeks turning red in anger and shame. The word chicken was taboo to not only the phoenix but any high and mighty bird beast, but this old man of the Aurora Cloud Gate just said that without batting his eyes.

It was similar to degrading a human to a mere monkey. This kind of tone was enough for the other party to not exist anymore.

Wasnʼt he truly not afraid of offending the Fire Phoenix Clan?

”Fire Phoenix Patriarch, let me tell you in good faith.” Elder Aradiel Furiose chuckled, ”Unless you can gather your Phoenix Alliance, quit daydreaming about going to war with my Aurora Cloud Gate. Oh, itʼs already night. Stop dreaming and go to sleep without a disturbance. Perhaps, youʼll see this matter from a different perspective.”

”Trying to get out of the heat after making a blunder?” Patriarch Killian sucked in a cold breath, ”Good! Very good! The Aurora Cloud Gate dares to hide a Divergent and even gives protection to a bandit!”

”Old man, youʼll regret this…”

He threatened Elder Aradiel Furiose with clenched teeth and eyes full of killing intent before he turned around and left with his entourage, seemingly unafraid of an Immortal Emperor.

”...”

Davis could tell that this fearlessness was not faked. Most likely, the Fire Phoenix Patriarch should have survival methods and perhaps even powerful immortal armament and artifacts to be able to battle against Immortal Emperors.

It was just that the chicken boss chose to retreat wisely, which made him sigh over the lost opportunity to witness or glimpse at the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs true prowess other than the Guardians, who probably donʼt exist in the worldʼs eyes.

ʼGuess even the elders wonʼt make a move for trouble-making heads of the major powers, huh...ʼ

Davis imagined his gaze fell on the Earth Dragon Patriarch, who remained silent all this time. He was still here, seemingly gazing back at him with intrigued eyes.

.

Elder Aradiel Furioseʼs gaze was also on the Earth Dragon Patriarch, but his gaze didnʼt seem to affect the latter one bit after the initial shock. This made Davis understand that these people were truly unafraid of Level One Immortal Emperors.

”Davis Alstreim, Iʼve heard many things about you. I still donʼt understand how you got quickly got accepted here unless weʼre overseeing a few things, but I wonʼt concern myself with that. I want to know, what are you to my clan?”

Davis couldnʼt help but smile over hearing that question.

”If I said that I was harmless, would you believe me?”

Patriarch Klaviusʼs expression was complex. A few moments later, he opened his mouth.

”I want to see the Earth Dragon Immortal Inheritor-”

”Uh-huh.” Davis raised his hand and shook his index finger, ”It doesnʼt work that way, Earth Dragon Patriarch. I answered your question, so itʼs now my turn to ask a question. I have just arrived and donʼt even know the main reason why Iʼm being ruthlessly targeted here. Is it just because Iʼm a Divergent, or is it because youʼre all lusting after the two inheritors badly that you donʼt know right from wrong as youʼre essentially after married women?”

”If I said that I purely wanted those immortal treasures to enrich my clan, would you believe me?”

Davis raised his brows as he lightly smiled. Throwing his own words back to him?

He didnʼt expect an Earth Dragon to make use of its tongue. However, was this how the leaders of the First Haven World moved? Abandoning their traits so that they could see from the other end and protect their clans from letting someone else take advantage of their weakness?

Is that why the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs Patriarch didnʼt give a shit about a lifelong promise between a man and a woman?

However, before Davis could reply, Patriarch Klavius continued.

”Personally, I donʼt care as Iʼm the son of two Immortal Emperor Earth Dragons. Although my bloodline purity canʼt compare to the true blood essence the inheritor possesses, I think of it as negligible.”

”But of course, I canʼt say for sure that not everyone is lusting after the inheritor. Itʼs not because of her rumored beauty or her dauntless character, but the true blood essence she carries inside her is inherited from a pure Earth Dragon Immortal birthed by two Immortal Emperor Earth Dragons.”

”If youʼre a cultivator, you could understand the kind of attraction that blood holds for us as a whole, rejuvenating the bloodline prowess of our clan from regression. It is like the fountain of youth in mortal terms, donʼt you think?”

”…”

Looking at Davis stare at him, Patriarch Klavius lightly waved his hand, ”Donʼt take it personally. If the inheritor was you instead, and you werenʼt a Divergent who brings calamities, we wouldʼve invited you to marry into our clan. Itʼs all the same.”

”Then itʼs a pity that I already took advantage of her true blood essence, donʼt you think?”

Patriarch Klaviusʼs expression became gloomy on seeing Davisʼs smug expression. Just now, he said not to take it personally, but the other party was provoking him to make it personal. However, he wasnʼt angered.

”We have our methods to restore lost true blood essence at least once. Besides, an immortalʼs true blood essence only shows its true potential when the inheritor has also entered the Immortal Stage, their body becoming highly compatible with the blood as it seeps into every cell in their body and boosts their growth potential to Immortal Emperor level as it gives them a foundation to make it easier for them to form Heaven Immortal Vessels.”

”Moreover, with the innate potential unlocked, their law comprehension speed would also receive a boost-”

”Blah, blah, blah~ Enough of the logical reasons behind it.” Davis waved his hand, hearing enough of it, ”I understand that my Isabella is too valuable to you all to be let go of. At the same time, I can guarantee you that sheʼs greater than my life. If any harm befalls her or she is to be separated from me because of you people, I will see that a new river flows in your clan, one that is made of crimson dragon blood.”

Patriarch Klavius pursed his lips and lightly smiled, appearing to be not offended.

”If you love her so much, isnʼt the right way to let her go as the previous Divergents all did the same, insisting on living alone over harming their loved ones with their ruinous fates?”

”Ahaha. I can simply boast that those Divergents were less powerful and weak-willed, but I wonʼt do that as they have their own troubles. Let me tell you that it isnʼt my style to let things go. Iʼll haunt it until I get an answer, pursue it until I make it mine, or drag it down the swamp if I have to, even bringing it to the underworld with me if left with no choice.”

”…”

Looking at the crazed sapphire eyes of the young Emperor of Death, Patriarch Klaviusʼs smile receded, learning that the other party was not kidding about his obsession with many things. It was the trait of an evil Divergent.

Their attachment to other things, including living things, was their own undoing, causing disasters to unfurl in the vast world in various ways that couldnʼt be seen, but they would be at the center of the calamitous storm every time it happened.
