Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2483 Getting Appreciation

Evelynn blinked at Davis, who seemed to have descended into contemplation.

Had something popped into his mind?

She didnʼt say anything, but after ten whole seconds, she appeared before him and grabbed his hand with worry visible on her expression.

”Dear, what are you worried about?”

Davis came out of his reverie. He turned to look at his Evelynn but shook his head.

”… I was just thinking about how to increase Wisteriaʼs prowess so that she can better protect you when Iʼm not there.”

”…”

Evelynnʼs expression became languid in response, ”Thereʼs no way Wisteria can match my prowess. Tell me what you were really thinking.”

”Ugh…” Davisʼs smile became awkward as he didnʼt think he would be exposed so blatantly, ”I was just thinking about Lereza and the impact the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace would have on our lives in the future.”

”…” Evelynnʼs gaze sharpened.

It was no wonder he didnʼt speak of it, as Lereza might be listening to them. But despite knowing that, Evelynn opened her mouth.

”I donʼt think Lereza means any harm to us. I have spoken to her a lot already.”

Davis paused his thoughts as he blinked, ”Is that so?”

”Yeah. She… sheʼs just a kid. The other day I tested her with a candy trap, and she actually fell for it, telling me that the next set of resources would be given out when our people spent ten years in the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace. That is not all. She also said that those who can create a Heaven Immortal Vessel will also be given a fitting reward, so look forward to it.”

”…”

Evelynn grinned while Davis became stunned.

”Evelynn, you tricked me!~”

A female voice resounded from Davis. However, his lips didnʼt move, but it was directly echoing from his head.

”Hehehe~” It made Evelynn giggle more so than she thought it would.

”Lereza, you already had the feeling I was tricking you and disappeared at the end. This kind of trick only works once, so why would I keep it a secret? Besides, my intent was not to trick you but to see and decide whether youʼre worthy of my trust at the very least. After all, I have the responsibility to look after the others, and I canʼt just allow you to repeatedly be in contact with them when theyʼre alone.”

”Hmph~”

Lerezaʼs unamused harrumph resounded in Davisʼs head, making him feel dizzy. It was the childish wrath of an Immortal King, but it still shook his soul with its intensity. Nonetheless, it didnʼt harm him. His rolling eyes came to a stop as he shook his head.

”Well, look at that. My Evelynn is so cool, looking after the house while taking the utmost responsibility.”

He smirked at her, causing Evelynnʼs cheeks to become slightly red as her eyes darted from his teasing smile. Her heart fluttered with indescribable emotions and tenderness, but the next second, she looked into his eyes and uttered.

”Davis, I trust her that Lereza doesnʼt wish harm to befall us. Otherwise, she wouldʼve made things difficult for Ellia and us back then and wouldʼve gotten us into trouble, ultimately trapping you and ending your… life.”

”Your point makes it more clear that Lereza is innocent, dear wife.”

Davis raised his hand and touched Evelynnʼs cheek. He pressed forward with his head and sealed her luscious pink lips, feeling her familiar yet seductive taste.

”Iʼve always been innocent. Itʼs you two who are unscrupulous!”

Lereza screamed out again, causing Davis to laugh as he took a step back.

”Aha. Lereza, about the reward-”

”Go away. You are all taking me for a child, and since you prefer to think that way, Iʼm going to act childish and delay giving you the rewards.”

”…”

Davis and Evelynn turned to look at each other. Looks like they went far in hurting her feelings.

”Great Spirit Lereza, youʼre an all-mighty being who can kill me with a flick of your finger. Is there really any need to bully this junior?”

”Wah… youʼre so…” The surprised voice paused for a moment before sneering, ”… shameless...”

Davisʼs lips could only curl in response, ”Canʼt you already see that when I have so many women?”

”Sigh… You have your way with your words. But for this time, Iʼll let you go.”

Lerezaʼs voice was stern and disciplining, one that made Davis almost burst out laughing. However, he held his ground and calmly asked.

”Whatʼs my reward?” However, his voice was filled with eagerness.

”Well, what kind of Essence Orb do you want? You have only one chance to make your request.”

”…”

The reward was an essence orb? And only once chance? It seemed rather suspicious to have a condition attached to a reward. Did that mean if he got it wrong, then there would be no reward?

Davis thought for a moment before he uttered, ”Blood Essence Orb.”

”A perfect choice. I thought a greedy man like you wouldʼve asked for a Chaos Essence Orb, but you still know that the achievement of creating a Heaven Immortal Vessel is not worthy of such a reward.”

”…”

Davisʼs brows twitched. Was Lereza insulting him or praising him?

He couldnʼt tell which one, but hearing her words, his heart couldnʼt help but skip a beat.

The way she used her words made it seem like there was another Chaos Essence Orb in her secret treasury. It instantly made him wonder how he could pry open this palace to reveal all its secrets, his eyes almost becoming bloodshot.

However, he still controlled himself and smiled. After all, he hadnʼt even managed to fully absorb the Chaos Essence Orb, not even ten percent.

”Yes, itʼs not worthy. But why would you say that the Blood Essence Orb is a good choice? I have my reasons for choosing it, but is there anything special to it?”

”Special? You didnʼt know? Sigh, are you a genius or a lucky fellow?”

”Well, excuse this unlearned, crass man and explain in detail, oh Great Spirit Lereza.”

”Mhm~ Since you pleaded, It canʼt be helped. Iʼll teach you what it is out of the kindness in my heart.”

Lereza cleared her throat, or at least the sound of it echoed around Davis and Evelynn.

”The Blood Essence Orb is unique than any other essence orb because of its nature. It is said that it is the purest amalgamation of lives in the heaven and earth, containing the source of all kinds of blood stemming from various races present in every corner of the cosmos.”

”If someone were to use the Blood Essence Orb, depending on their level, they would certainly be capable of purifying their bloodline to hundred percent or perhaps even strengthen it beyond as far as the Blood Essence Orb is capable of, thereby saving their race from bloodline regression.”

”However, I can say that it certainly isnʼt more valuable than the Life Essence Orb or Death Essence Orb, but it contains the essence of life in a different nature than that of the Life Essence Orb. I donʼt know how exactly, but legends state that when a Life Orb Essence is combined with a Blood Essence Orb, it could even create a new life out of thin air.”

”…!”
