Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2476 Surrendering?

Zora Luanʼs frown was excessively cold. Previously, if she didnʼt give Tegon Zenflame the time of day because she understood he was just being provocative and harassing her to marry him, today, she was getting increasingly mad at his reckless actions and intolerable words.

But in the end, she didnʼt say anything and turned around, indicating for Davis to move along with her.

”Zora Luan, you dare to ignore me? It seems like you really want-”

”Thatʼs about enough.”

Davis turned to look at a group of people walking over. There were about six of them, with one at the front. They all wore azure robes with an offensive connotation, the symbol of a sword cleaving through a gate. However, the one at the front wore an azure-purple robe, one that seemed to indicate that he had a higher standing, perhaps because he was an Immortal King core disciple.

Tegon Zenflameʼs anger flared at being interrupted, his head swiveling around to see who was daring enough to stop him, but his expression froze.

”Tegon Zenflame, we had the opportunity to capture what was going on with our eyes. You were harassing three true disciples using your undulations and forcing him to apologize. This is clearly bullying using oneʼs strength. If you donʼt come with us, then weʼll have to arrest you.”

”What?” Tegon Zenflameʼs expression changed as he pointed at Davis, ”He… he...”

However, he suddenly seemed at a loss for words, his endless yapping suddenly running out of content.

”He what? Go on, tell me.”

The azure-purple-robed man raised his brows in amusement, causing Tegon Zenflame to quiver. However, it wasnʼt from fear but from anger and nervousness.

Initially, he had thought that Davis was just acting to be a true disciple as his power wouldnʼt know the inner workings of the Aurora Cloud Gate. He had seen Feng Chu before and knew that he was an ordinary disciple, but after dealing with Mistress Zahara, his power suddenly contacted him again, telling him to deal with Davis Alstreim, which turned out to be Feng Chu.

They didnʼt give much information but told him that he was a true disciple. However, Tegon Zenflame didnʼt believe it until now. When even Law Enforcement revealed that Davis was a true disciple, he had no choice but to believe it.

”Should I also remind you that youʼre here as an Aurora Cloud Gateʼs disciple and not someone from the Fire Phoenix Clan?”

Hearing the azure-purple-robed manʼs words, Tegon Zenflameʼs anger somewhat receded, but that allowed him to control himself and obediently give up resisting. Without a word, he followed the group of five and left, causing Davisʼs eyes to brighten.

”In the Aurora Cloud Gate, there is no word other than absolute to describe the Law Enforcement Department. Theyʼre the bane of the external powers thriving here and protect the rules and regulations of the Aurora Cloud Gate like it is their lifeʼs mission.”

There was a trace of respect in Zora Luanʼs words as she uttered what she thought without reserve, causing Davis and the others to understand what went now exactly.

Even Davis was at a loss over this quick resolution, but from Zora Luanʼs words, it seemed like the Law Enforcement truly held immense weight here, even if they didnʼt know about Saintess Lunariaʼs existence. However, if that kind of power wanted to deal with him, then…

Davis narrowed his eyes as he gazed at the Immortal King, who was walking towards him with a calm expression and a curious gaze.

”Davis Alstreim or Feng Chu.” The azure-purple-robed man opened his mouth and lightly smiled, ”Whatever your true identity is, we have heard about your problems from the Law Enforcement Department in the far-east branch and how an esteemed Elder protected you from the Fire Phoenix Clan and Earth Dragon Clanʼs entourage.”

”We give you the benefit of the doubt to prove that youʼre innocent in a weekʼs time. Although the Law Enforcement is already looking into it, it is far better if you move by yourself and get yourself out of the red zone. Otherwise, youʼll be expelled from the Aurora Cloud Gate.”

Davis couldnʼt help but momentarily blink. The other party wasnʼt here to arrest or offend him?

”I see, but you are?” He asked.

.

”Me? Oh, my apologies. Iʼm Ruven Longstrand, an Officer of the Law Enforcement Department. My patrol team has caught Tegon Zenflame for wrongly flouting his power, but after a mild punishment, he will be let go. As for you, I recommend that you donʼt trust anyone here, including me, so go get the proof that youʼre innocent without further ado.”

”As a true disciple, I can vouch that he is innocent.” Abruptly, Ellia interrupted from the side, causing Ruven Longstrand to blink.

He turned to look at her, noticing her charming eyes before he shook his head.

”Then… heʼll have two weeks to prove himself, but you will also be expelled in case he fails to find evidence.”

”Thatʼs fine. You can leave now.”

Ellia waved her hand, causing Ruven Longstrandʼs lips to twitch.

As an Officer of the Law Enforcement Department, his status could almost match a true disciple even though he was a core disciple. However, that wouldnʼt give him any special status to bully true disciples, so there was nothing he could do to this cheeky woman.

He shrugged and turned around, intending to leave.

”Wait…”

However, a clear voice suddenly echoed, causing him to turn around and look at Davis, who held an Imagery Stone in his palm.

”Hereʼs the proof.”

”You… you had this with you...”

Ruven Longstrand looked at Davis with astonishment but also some irritation. If the other party had the proof, why delay handing it over?

”Of course, I wanted to know if this power is worth staying, and so far, it proved to be quite honorable and likable.”

Davis smirked, causing Ruven Longstrandʼs lips to twitch.

Indeed, Davis had an Imagery Stone that he found from one of the enemies that were recording him. Their corpse was also with him as well as their resources, so it didnʼt take him much time to search through one and find one.

He had already verified the contents of this Imagery Stone when he rode on Nadia and copied them a few times. So, he wasnʼt opposed to giving it away to test a few people, but he kept smiling.

”However, use it only on the third last day of the next week. If you do that, count yourself having one of my favors.”

Ruven Longstrandʼs expression changed, ”Bribing is-”

”This isnʼt bribing.” Davis lightly shook his head, ”Iʼm not giving you anything. Just my word, which I could retract anytime if I want to. Itʼs your decision whether to accept it or not, as I can still submit this proof myself on the third last day.”

”…”

Ruven Longstrand stared at Davis with his eyes slightly wide. The feeling that he was dealing with a schemer couldnʼt help but swell in his mind but gritting his teeth against his doubts, he nodded his head and took the Imagery Stone.

”Alright.”

He kept it in his spatial ring and bid farewell with cupped hands before leaving.

Davis stared at his disappearing figure before he turned to look at Zora Luan.

”Senior sister, whatʼs going on? He knew that I was a Divergent but was still willing to make me owe a favor to him?”
