Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2456 Alliances?

Davis looked around the Proving Grounds, his body turning along with him as he surveyed each direction before he did a three-sixty-degree turn. Frustratingly enough, he couldnʼt spot a single true disciple, causing him to sigh inwardly.

Should he wait for a true disciple?

However, considering that true disciples were genuinely busy people with eyes only on the front with their cultivation instead of being here to earn some money, he guessed visiting this place for them was a waste of time.

However, he was willing to wait for some time. Hopefully, his arrogant actions might attract some people who wouldnʼt like others to be more arrogant than them. That was why he enacted all this farce.

His actions werenʼt without reason.

In the meantime, he glanced at Nightveil once again as though surveying the crowd once more, locking onto her location and aura amidst the thousands before leaving the battle stage.

”It seems like Iʼm unlucky. Even true disciples are afraid of me, causing me to be without an opponent. I can only hope that the Aurora Cloud Gate wonʼt disappoint me.”

Davis shook his head as his words fell over to all the disciples.

Their expressions once again changed.

Was this person also not one of the Aurora Cloud Gate? Why was he challenging them like this? They accepted he had superior prowess, slightly more powerful than a core disciple, but to be so arrogant enough to question their collective power was going too far.

Some of them even tried to contact their own allianceʼs true disciples to teach this person a lesson again. They were moving according to Davisʼs tunes without even realizing it.

Davis appeared and stood in front of Zora Luan, who seemed to be struck speechless in front of his presence. He raised his hand, waving his palm in front of her.

Only then did Zora Luan arise out of her reverie, her expression becoming better behind her veil as she giggled.

”Junior brother, I really didnʼt expect you to be so powerful. Even I wouldnʼt be able to receive that strike without becoming heavily injured, at the very least. However, thereʼs no need to challenge the true disciples, right? Come, we have better things to do.”

Zora Luan unceremoniously grabbed Davisʼs hand and turned around, wanting to leave. In her eyes, true disciples were monsters, and even among them, the ones in the top fifteen were able to easily defeat the true disciples below them. If such a heavenly genius appeared, then it would truly not end well.

In fact, the alliance leader of Goren Azuremarkʼs alliance was one such person. She was afraid that if that person found out that Feng Chu humiliated one of his alliance members, things would surely get sore for his future. However, her worry wasnʼt particularly because of that person.

But having taken the second step, she found that Feng Chu was rooted to the spot, turning to look around.

”You… do you not understand the situation youʼre placed in?” Zora Luan spoke in a hushed voice before forcefully pulling him.

This time, even if Davis was ten times more powerful, he wouldnʼt be able to go against the power of an Immortal King, especially the power of a core disciple like Zora Luan. He was dragged away like a junior brother indeed.

”Senior sister…”

”Donʼt talk.”

Davis was speechless. He could really hear her hurried steps that sounded worried for him.

However, did she forget that she was an Immortal King? Why was she panicking so much?

Zora Luan could leave while flying, but she couldnʼt be too conspicuous. She mixed in with the crowd to leave but suddenly came to a stop after having taken a dozen steps as a group of disciples surrounded her. She narrowed her eyes, noticing that they were all core disciples.

Not only were they core disciples, but their cultivations were also at the higher end of the Immortal Stage, something she was in just a month ago.

Her expression became cold as her lips moved, ”What do you all want?”

”Itʼs nothing serious, senior sister. We just came to invite this new disciple over to our alliance.” One of them answered.

They wore different kinds of garments with no indication of their alliance, so Davis couldnʼt help but wonder where they were all from.

”Joining an alliance? Iʼll have to ask my senior sister Zora if she is okay with it.” However, he shook his head.

”…” Zora Luan became stunned before her expression couldnʼt help but slightly become moved.

As expected, her eyes didnʼt fail her, but she shook her head genially.

”You… Iʼm not in any alliance.”

”Not in any alliance?” Davis raised his brows. It seemed like Zora Luan was able to handle her own weight, but on second thought, he finally realized why she was taking him away.

It was because she had no backing that she could not withstand the might of an alliance, deciding to take him away instead.

”You can join any alliance you want. I wonʼt block you.” Zora Luan stated as she smiled.

Davis lightly nodded, but truly, he wasnʼt in mind to join any alliance at the moment. If anything, he wanted to create one himself. However, he didnʼt know how beneficial it would be to have an alliance, so he tried to listen and gain some information in the meantime.

”Since thatʼs the case, nameless junior brother, I come here to invite you to our Dawnstar Alliance.”

A white-robed man with a smiling expression uttered.

”Forget about them.” Another purple-robed lady giggled, her bosoms shaking ever so lightly, ”They donʼt even rank in the hundreds. But we, the Lunar Tempest Alliance, rank in the fifties. I hope you can consider our invitation.”

”You-”The white-robed man was seemingly about to lash out at the woman when another person spoke out.

”Junior brother, our Cyan Riverstream Alliance would also like to invite you.”

A cyan-robed man uttered as he cupped his hands.

”Wah! Cyan Riverstream Alliance? Isnʼt that the alliance ranked thirteen in the Alliance Ranking Charts?”

”Yes, yes. With a vast number of Immortal Kings and Immortals in their alliance, they sure are influential, not to mention extremely powerful.”

The surrounding people became stunned while even the eyes of the other people who invited Davis changed.

”Cyan Riverstream Alliance?”

Davis uttered with some doubt. Nowadays, when he hears the words cyan, only the Cyan Soul Rats come to his mind, feeling that those vermin need to be eradicated. However, he couldnʼt find an opportunity, and neither was he powerful enough to achieve such an expedition.

He wondered if this Cyan Riverstream Alliance possessed any relation to the Cyan Soul Rats before he shook his head. But before he could reply, he noticed something, the eyes of the ones who gave the invitations darting around.

ʼAh, no wonder...ʼ

He glanced behind and saw Myria and Ellia, understanding what was going on.

At a glance, their target may have looked like it was Davis, but in truth, it was Myria.

Indeed, their thinking was that if this heavenly beauty had such a powerful subordinate, then surely, she would be even more powerful. They wanted to invite her over to their alliance and strengthen their collective might.

Honestly, he wanted to decline, but at this moment, he was still waiting for at least one true disciple to arrive.

”What? You want me to join your alliance? Does your alliance leader think that heʼs greater than me? How unpleasant…”

Davis scoffed while everyoneʼs expression fell. Even Zora Luanʼs expression froze.

They all wondered what was wrong with this new discipleʼs head that was offending everyone without a stop! And why even drag an alliance leader? Such an existence was mostly an Immortal King, so to be bringing them into the conversation in an unpleasant manner was nothing short of courting death.

However, they were not fools. They understood that he was intentionally provoking them, and perhaps, the first one to react would have to lose out on picking such a talent. However, their main target was the true disciple behind him, so they hesitated.

But just at this moment, a figure jumped onto the platform and faced the crowd.

”I decided to take a stroll to see the progress of my fellow disciples, but I heard that there was someone making a ruckus, wanting to battle a true disciple, so here I am.”

At the sound of the clear voice ending, a figure jumped towards the platform and landed on the battle stage again.

”Feng Chu!”

Zora Luanʼs pupils dilated as she called out to Davis, who had quickly arrived above the battle stage before she could react.

”So you are called Feng Chu.”

A golden-robed man with two swords strapped behind his back had his hands folded and overlooked the crowd with a light smile before his gaze fell on Davis. His sharp brows emitted a tremendous sword might that could be felt everywhere his gaze moved.

Davis inwardly sighed that his fake name was out, but he didnʼt bother as he got someone with a three-colored emblem.

”You are…?”

”Niel Bladeheart.”

Davis turned his head to look at the True Disciple Rankings - Immortal and found that name.

It was ranked twenty-ninth, causing him to raise his brows. There were around a thousand true disciples, but he just had to match someone in the top thirty?

ʼThat makes things somewhat interesting...ʼ

Davis returned his gaze to Niel Bladeheart and cupped his hands, ”Shall we battle then?”

His words shocked the crowd into stupefaction. Even after knowing who the other party was, he still asked for a battle!?

”Why not? I was itching to practice my sword skills as I had a new breakthrough.”

Niel Bladeheart raised his hand and touched one of the two swords on his back. Instantly, Davis felt the illusion that he might be severed into two if he kept his powers suppressed, causing him to smile.

”Good. I want to see what Imposing Sword Laws are capable of...”

”…!”

Niel Bladeheartʼs expression froze while his hand froze in mid-air. He hadnʼt even revealed his might, but the other party instantly saw through him!?

A real immortal expert… was what crossed his mind as he readied himself, his hand reaching out to the other sword and bringing it out to the side of his head, the sword tip pointing towards his opponent while his left foot moved back, his body bending like a tiger.
