Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 219: Volume 4 Chapter 12 Refusing a Toast only to Drink a Forfeit_2

Apart from the previous henchmen, some inmates standing by Andre’s side also joined the fray. Countless fists and kicks rained down on Fatty like a torrential storm. Fatty, caught in the middle, was battered and staggered, like a leaf in a violent storm, ready to fall at any moment. Among these inmates were former army soldiers or those who had systematically studied combat techniques. For ordinary people, a punch from them meant broken bones. To everyone, it seemed Fatty had no way out but death!

But reality always surprises! Despite being hit repeatedly with heavy punches, Fatty remained on his feet. Those punches and kicks didn’t bring even a hint of pain to his neurotic expression... On the contrary, his eyes showed... a zeal, a type of madness that filled people with dread, as if getting beaten was the most enjoyable thing for him. He stuck out his long tongue, constantly licking around his lips like... damn it, like a whore! With an increasingly excited and crazy expression, Fatty began to retaliate.

Fatty’s punches made the legs of everyone watching tremble. In their eyes, Fatty wasn’t swinging fists, but two huge iron hammers! Yes, one punch was enough. It looked so plain, so simple, even somewhat clumsy straight punches, but no one could avoid them. The sound of that punch hitting someone was like a huge iron hammer smashing into a sandbag after a fierce windmill spin! Dull and terrifying. With each punch, one more person was sure to fall.

No one could believe their eyes. It seemed that the one sleepwalking wasn’t Fatty, but themselves! Except for Rex, who had closed his eyes, and Tou’er, who had turned away trembling, everyone else felt they were living through a nightmare!

”Smack!” A henchman was slapped by Fatty and flew into the air, falling at Andre’s feet. The poor henchman couldn’t speak, half his face looked like it had been hit by a train, making it nearly impossible to recognize who he was! Immediately after, another henchman was thrown from the crowd. This guy was worse off, his arm completely broken and twisted in a strange position. His screams were even more horrific than Fatty’s earlier ones. Before Andre could recover, there were hardly any attackers left against Fatty. Not because these desperadoes had retreated in fear, but because they didn’t even have time to be afraid or to dodge! Fatty in the crowd, like a blood-covered beast, rampaged through, leaving everyone he struck with broken limbs!

Fatty’s gaze was still fixed, but everyone could see the bloodthirsty light in his eyes. His expression remained the same, muscles twitching, drooling mouth, tongue licking back and forth. The most devastating moment was when, in his increasingly excited state, Fatty began to cry, sobs that made people’s brains bleed, a kind of... joy mingled sobbing... Crying and mumbling incoherent, illogical words, as if arguing or complaining. By his side, people could vaguely hear snippets like: ”Old Man Pushing a Cart...you liar...Double Dragon Seeking Pearl...you forced me...taking the lead...surrender...I’ll kill you...” Such bizarre word combinations.

No one could describe their feelings. Damn it, was this Fatty having a nightmare or a wet dream?

Andre didn’t know what nightmare Fatty was having. He only knew he was living a nightmare! Fatty in the crowd had started chasing, anyone standing in his view was ruthlessly attacked. When Fatty caught a tall inmate and bit into his shoulder, the inmates were utterly terrified. This Fatty was too horrifying, not only unaffected by being hit but as bloodthirsty as a demon, causing even the most vicious inmates to feel powerless! For the first time, they felt utterly helpless, fragile! They weren’t afraid of someone more savage, they were afraid of a madman, an unstoppable madman! If they couldn’t take him down, they’d end up with broken bones or bitten flesh!

When humans face a fight with their peers, they’re usually courageous. But when they realize they’re up against an enraged Arctic Bear, all courage evaporates. Now, to the inmates crowded in the D2 cell and the corridor, Fatty was like a crazed Arctic Bear. Their punches and kicks felt like throwing salt into the sea, and his face was even more terrifying than an Arctic Bear’s.

Andre’s hands and feet were cold, his heart filled with dread. He hadn’t expected to suffer such a heavy blow so easily. If Fatty continued, after today, there would be no place for him in Abnosk Prison! Those lying on the ground and being chased by Fatty were his core strength! Losing them, even for just two or three days, would mean he’d never recover! Other forces wouldn’t miss such a golden opportunity slipping under their noses. Maybe some were already scheming against him!

”Stop!” Despite his shame and anger, despite wanting to slap himself, despite everyone seeing him as someone who only responds to force, he still shouted the word.

Fatty didn’t stop. Someone in a frenzy doesn’t listen to their opponent. He continued to chase and beat, causing chaos among the inmates! Andre swore, when he shouted stop, Fatty gave him a glance, a look filled with indescribable lethal intent... a look that made Andre’s heart sink! Fatty already had a killing intent!

Fatty continued his chase, but only within the D2 cell. Some quick-witted inmates had already fled to the corridor, leaving just a few foolishly circling inside. Andre’s voice made Fatty focus entirely on him. As Fatty, dazed and crazed, walked towards Andre, all the inmates were helpless!

Andre was the most trapped. If he retreated now, he’d never stand tall again! But... facing this demonic Fatty, the uncontrollable fear chilled him to the bone. Andre, in a dilemma, stood frozen, watching Fatty approach, baring bloody teeth, raising his fist...until...Rex’s voice rang out:

”Don’t hit, stop!”

Andre, who had already closed his eyes, didn’t feel the expected punch. He opened his eyes to see a struggling expression on Fatty’s face, his face twitching rapidly, the fist raised to his ear trembling incessantly.

Everyone held their breath. Fatty listened... My God... Fatty listened to Rex...

Seeing it worked, Rex urgently shouted, ”Brother... Stop... Don’t hit anymore!”

Fatty’s face twitched, his body trembled nervously, and finally, he lowered his fist, falling dumbly onto a nearby bed and instantly falling asleep.

As Fatty’s snores started, Andre realized cold sweat had soaked his back. He was grateful, grateful to have survived, and grateful for making the right choice! If he had stepped back, he’d have lost his place in Abnosk Prison forever!

The whole room and corridor fell silent. Everyone stared at the sleeping Fatty, unable to hide their shock. They all felt like waking from a terrifying nightmare, hearts still racing but feeling a heavy burden lifted. In their minds, only one thought remained:

”Never! Never! Never mess with that terrifying Fatty!”
