Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 217: Volume 4 Chapter 11: Stop!

After a whole day of pretending to be a sleepwalker and faking madness to frantically perform hypnotism, Fatty was snoring soundly. He was very aware of the challenges ahead; he had to conserve his energy to face one psychologically twisted and unpredictable desperado after another. In prison, no matter what he wanted to do, he could not avoid dealing with these people. If he wasn’t careful, these wolf-like inmates could tear him apart alive.

When it came to fighting, Fatty wasn’t afraid of anyone. Fistfights were the most direct way to gain status in prison. However, for Fatty, his current identity and the task he was about to execute didn’t allow him to openly fight his way to the top, which undoubtedly made him feel very pained. He had to carefully avoid the informants of Bruce, Stephen, and even George in the prison!

A sleepwalker with a touch of neurosis might be the best choice. In this cannibalistic world, everyone would be twisted. Here, even the most upright person would gradually become despicable and shameless, and even the strongest person would be crushed by endless physical torment and mental stress. Falling ill was not a big deal.

The six-hour workday in prison passed quickly. Just when Fatty was drooling and clutching his blanket with his legs, lost in erotic dreams, the bell signaling the end of the shift finally rang. As the cell door automatically slid open at the sound of the bell, Fatty suddenly opened his eyes and looked at Rex on the bed beside him...

Rex was awakened by the bell. He lay weakly on the bed, staring blankly at the empty wall opposite him, with a very confused expression, as if he was constantly recalling something. Fatty immediately scrambled up and exclaimed in surprise, ”Big brother... you’re awake?” He eagerly poured a glass of water and brought it to Rex, ”I was so worried about you...” Rex finally gave up on the tormenting recollections, turned to look at Fatty, and after a long while, cursed, ”Damn it, how are you so powerful when sleepwalking!”

Fatty smiled awkwardly, looking simple and honest, and said timidly, ”Well... I don’t know how it happened either...”

Rex waved his hand and said, ”Forget it... it seems like it was my fault first... I can’t remember what happened after all.” He rubbed his head and said gruffly, ”Damn it, my head hurts... haven’t Tou’er and the others come back yet?”

Fatty shook his head and said, ”No...” Just as he spoke, the sound of footsteps came from outside, and a large group of people walked in. Fatty looked up in horror, seeing a tall black man leading the group. As soon as this black man entered the door, he immediately stood two meters to the side in front of Fatty. In the gap he made, a medium-sized white man, who looked like a fierce tiger ready to devour someone, looked at Fatty calmly. This man was clearly Andre, the leader of the faction Rex belonged to. Like all those accustomed to giving orders, Andre was not only a heavy criminal but also exuded an oppressive aura. His cold expression and the cold gleam in his eyes, along with the dozens of tall and strong thugs surrounding him, demonstrated his power.

If a person could make someone feel chills and sweat on their back with just their eyes, then he was either a psychotic killer or someone long accustomed to manipulating life and death. Looking at Fatty, Andre’s eyes carried a cruel coldness, a kind of indifference toward life as insignificant as an ant. This gaze not only made Fatty look terrified but also silenced everyone around him.

It was the fixed exercise time for Abnosk Prison. After work, prisoners only had these two hours each day to move freely within designated areas of the prison, which included the cell area. When it rained on the outdoor field, exercise time turned into social visits, where prisoners from different cells gathered to discuss matters or play cards and gamble. As long as there was no riot, no one would intervene. Of course, if anyone wasn’t back in their cell by the third ring of the bell ending exercise time, they should be prepared to be shot into a sieve by the automatic patrol guns on the wall.

This meant that if Andre wanted to mess with Fatty, he had more than an hour! This hour was enough for a chubby, silly Fatty to climax many times... But to everyone’s amusement, the pathetic guy in front of them collapsed on the ground twitching and rolling around, as if savoring some leftover pleasure, even before Andre gave the order to act. His face full of tears and snot, coupled with a terrified and miserable look, was far from the beauty of a red-flushed woman after climax.

Andre felt for the first time that he had been so easily defeated by someone. No matter how many people were beside him, no matter how fierce his demeanor and gaze were, it was all in vain! This Fatty was essentially a scoundrel! An insult to any human with a shred of dignity! Andre felt that believing the Doctor and bringing so many people was a total waste! Such a Fatty, just two people could flush him down the toilet without leaving a trace!

However, when Andre turned his gaze to Rex on the bed, he couldn’t help but be stunned. His gaze moved between the bawling Fatty on the ground and Rex on the bed, unable to believe that the person who beat one of his top enforcers, Rex, into this state was this seemingly ordinary Fatty sprawled on the ground in a pitiful display!

It seemed that what the Doctor and the others had said was not exaggerated! Being Fat doesn’t necessarily mean fighting well. Fatty could bully ordinary people, but in higher-level fights, many fatties were the ones getting beaten up, especially in prison. These prisoners beside him, who did nothing but exercise their muscles every day, could easily pound a Fatty to pieces! Not to mention Rex, one of his top enforcers. Andre didn’t understand much about sleepwalking. Vague hearsay bolstered his understanding of sleepwalking, and he seemed to recall hearing about sleepwalking homicides before. Maybe, this was the only explanation for Rex’s current condition. Apart from sleepwalking, Andre couldn’t imagine how this ordinary-looking Fatty could beat Rex like this!

Andre frowned and waved his hand, and several burly prisoners swarmed up and pressed Fatty tightly to the ground! Fatty’s cries became even more pitiful. He shivered and kept saying, ”Don’t kill me... sob... please don’t kill me... I didn’t mean it... I deserve to die, I am guilty... I really didn’t mean it... Big brother.. big brother save me... big brother...”

Andre felt a headache. What the hell kind of scoundrel was this? Seeing Fatty’s pleading look at Rex, it seemed as if he hoped the victim who got beaten to serious injury would plead for him. Damn it, this scoundrel was either a fool or mentally ill! No matter his situation, prison had its own rules. Whether he’s sleepwalking or a fool, if he dared to provoke someone he shouldn’t, he must bear the consequences. This was the rule in prison!

Watching the desperate struggle and bawling of Fatty, Andre frowned and ordered coldly, ”Hit him!”

Before the thugs’ fists even landed on Fatty, he let out a sharp and extremely miserable scream, ”Help... Murder! They’re going to kill me! ...Help!”

”Boss... don’t hit him.”

Andre turned his head in surprise. The one speaking was Rex, who had been beaten into a panda. Andre could hardly believe his ears. In his memory, Rex only knew how to obey and had never dared to interrupt after he gave an order! Moreover, they were exacting revenge for Rex. He suspected that Fatty had already beaten Rex into stupidity!

The cell fell silent except for Fatty’s continued pig-like wailing. Andre coldly stared at Rex for a long time before finally saying, ”I think you need to give me a reason to revoke my order. If the reason is not valid, you know what the consequences will be!”

Rex swallowed. He didn’t understand why he said that. Fatty looked so disgusting, but subconsciously, Rex felt a connection to him. Stopping the beating felt like the right thing to do. Seeing Andre’s gaze, Rex was in a difficult position and finally said with difficulty, ”Boss... he’s my brother... He has a sleepwalking problem, it’s not his fault...”

Andre stared hard at Rex. ”A prisoner who was just brought in this morning, beat you up, and now he’s your brother? I’ve never heard of such a brother of yours.” His eyes were sharp. ”I think... you’re not clear on what you’re doing! If he’s your brother, you’ll vouch for him?”

Seeing Rex speechless, Andre shouted harshly, ”Hit him!”

”Stop...”

Seeing Andre’s eyes full of rage, Rex wanted to slap himself hard. He didn’t understand what was wrong with him, repeatedly making such mistakes for Fatty. Normally, he wouldn’t even dare to fart in front of Andre, but now, when Andre was avenging him, he... Rex stuttered, ”Boss... If this guy gets beaten too badly, he’ll...” Andre’s eyes flared with infinite fierceness, ”What? Sleepwalk?... Hit him hard!”

”Stop....!”

This time, the one yelling to stop wasn’t Rex but Fatty, who was pinned to the ground and howling. This scumbag couldn’t grasp the situation. Seeing Rex was speechless, he yelled stop himself, driving everyone crazy, and Andre nearly ground his teeth to bits! Trembling with anger at Fatty’s silly, expectant look, Andre spat out word by word through clenched teeth, ”Hit him!”
