Beneath the Red Dragon

The mature Brass Dragon once received letters from two Bronze Dragons, interns of the Good Dragon Alliance, explaining that evil was taking root in the Northern Wastelands.

Initially, the Brass Dragon paid no heed; in his view, a group of younglings transitioning from childhood to adolescence could hardly pose any threat. Surely those two Bronze Dragons were exaggerating to achieve enough merit to get promoted to official members.

Even when the news of the Dragon Group’s victory over the Beastmen reached him, he thought that the minions of the Evil Dragons were heavily depleted, thereby weakening those Evil Dragons, thus sparing him the worry over such trivial matters.

Moreover, the territory established by the Dragon Group was still in the wastelands, which held no interest for him.

It wasn’t until several adult Giant Dragons were defeated, and even the Ancestral Golden Dragon Oblash was humiliated, held like a guard hound by the master of the Dragon Group, Karon Gogomola, outside the Royal Hall, did the mature Brass Dragon sigh and step out of his Holister cottage.

The Northern Continent, a region cut off by the Endless Mountain Range, was only a barren land in the mind of the mature Brass Dragon. But in recent years, this barren land suddenly grew a civilization.

Even Brass Dragon Holister has occasionally heard in distant Rose City of people discussing the conqueror of wilderness and forest, the civilization creator Karon Gogomola.

He initially thought that, due to the Giant Dragon’s vanity, these reputations might be largely exaggerated, but when he set foot on this civilized land, he realized.

The rumor that this Red Dragon built a powerful Dragon Empire in the wastelands of the Northern Continent with its claws and wisdom was real, inspiring in him a genuine sense of admiration.

This Golden City, though not as prosperous and wealthy as Holister’s station, Rose City, appeared exceptionally clean and lively.

Moreover, a city specifically built with Giant Dragons as the target aligns perfectly with the aesthetic of the Dragon Race, giving the Brass Dragon an internal sense of belonging and comfort.

So much so that this mature Brass Dragon even considered revealing his true dragon form to fully explore this huge city.

Though now he was also browsing, the letters once sent by Bronze Dragon Gross to him surfaced in his mind.

”Within the Gogomola Dragon Group, True Dragons of various scale colors rule with absolute power within their territory, skilled in manipulation, possessing extraordinarily strong corruption abilities. Bronze Dragon Alina and Red Copper Dragon Alfred might be victims of the Dragon Group’s corruption and seduction.”

”The Gogomola Dragon Group, during evaluation, is marked with an extremely high threat level; even though most of the Giant Dragons in the group are inexperienced younglings, their loyal followers possess formidable military power, and each Giant Dragon in the group has exceptional potential,”

”Therefore, it is recommended that the Inspector dispatch more forces to closely monitor the Land of Golden, not allowing evil to grow unchecked. If necessary, military action should be promptly taken to curb the evil!”

Brass Dragon Holistor nodded, ”It seems those two Bronze Dragons indeed had keen eyes; this place has significant potential. It’s a pity they’re trapped here due to their recklessness.”

Brass Dragon Holistor did not believe it was his mistake; instead, he thought the fault lay with the two reckless Bronze Dragons.

”It seems this Dragon Group has grown more powerful, with Steel Dragon Midir, Fog Dragon Deniro, these rare Dragon Species voluntarily joining the group,”

Holister walked among the crowd, appreciating the civilization crafted by the Giant Dragons.

The city’s arena, library, and Giant Dragon Academy were buildings that this civilization-craving mature Giant Dragon particularly admired; hence internally, he bore no special enmity towards the Dragon Group.

However, the voices of the discussing folks on the streets piqued his interest.

The name Steel Dragon Midir appeared exceptionally frequently, especially in the mouths of those merchants.

This Steel Dragon, recently acceded to pledge allegiance to the Dragon Group before the Giant Dragon Royal Banner in the Royal Capital, becoming the Minister of Commerce of the Dragon Group Empire, was hailed by these merchants as the true ’Vampire Species.’

After assuming the position, this Vampire of the dragon group enacted countless commercial laws, established numerous taxes, and strengthened control over merchant transactions.

Especially some important resources were given maximum and minimum prices, reducing opportunities for merchants to hoard and secure huge profits by speculation.

These measures, for those merchants, could be likened to a vampire sucking on them, hence being dubbed the Vampire Dragon.

”What a peculiar Dragon Group, even these mysterious Dragon Species serve them,” Brass Dragon Holister felt attracted to the civilization of this Dragon Group.

He made his way along the broad avenue toward the Central Square of the city, where towering buildings, monumental columns of achievements, immense fountains, and grand dragon statues rose skyward.

But what caught the Brass Dragon’s eyes the most was the magnificent and seemingly newly erected Divine Hall.

On the plaque made of exquisite sandalwood, several ancient mysterious characters were engraved: the true Dragon Language—Ten Thousand Dragons Temple.

The burly Beloved ones stood in guard on the steps of the broad doorway of the Divine Hall, their black and red armor, blood-red cloaks, conspicuous dragon-eye emblems, and steel-like tenacious faces all declaring the might of these warriors.

Even the Brass Dragon, in human form, could sense the aura of these warriors.

However, these guards of the Divine Hall did not prevent others from entering; as long as one possessed an identity badge, they could naturally step foot into this Divine Hall.

With an unchanged expression, Brass Dragon Holister followed several Centaur Warriors into this Divine Hall. A warm glow enveloped him.

The aroma permeating the hall, similar to sandalwood, unconsciously made one feel peaceful and focused.

At a glance, there were countless jade-like columns ornately engraved with exquisite patterns, with soft, warm light streaming from a massive gemstone atop the tall dome.

In the faint light, fine dust particles floated in the air, gently merging into the mirror-like marble floor.

But what caught the Brass Dragon’s attention were not these details, but instead, the statue of the Dragon Group at the end of the hall, and behind the statues, on both sides, the idol and emblem symbols.

Brass Dragon Holister, this mature Giant Dragon, at this moment couldn’t help but have his pupils dilate, wearing a look of shock.

”Asterina, Estelabo, Bahamut, Kronipus, Farazur, Karex, He’Er, Ayo, Landis, Tamara, Tiamat,”

The Brass Dragon’s face was fearful, twisted like wrinkled bark, and at this moment, he was so shocked that he directly uttered the names of these great beings.

”No Giant Dragon has ever done this, nor dared to do this,” the twisted cheeks of Brass Dragon Holister were not of anger, but instead, his normal reason was shattered by some unspeakable fact.

Holister raised his head, gazing at the vast dome above, decorated with murals of ten thousand dragons soaring to the sky, and let out a deep sigh.

”Karon Gogomola, what exactly do you intend to do!”
