Beneath the Red Dragon

The warriors roared, steel clanged, and the clashes boomed, accompanied by the commands in the training field, forming a cacophony of intense heroics.

Fog Dragon Deniro closely followed behind the Dragon King entering this most mysterious legion so far, the ambient temperature clearly rising several degrees.

It was the warriors’ boiling aura and blood energy, mixed with evaporating sweat on the square, making Fog Dragon Deniro, who favored staying in cool mist, feel intensely.

Despite the Dragon King ahead, the energy from this Ancestral Red Dragon was more scorching than a volcano, yet Fog Dragon Deniro had only felt it once, as the Ancestral Red Dragon never wastes or leaks even a bit of his aura.

Even common Red Dragons, often liking to manifest their presence with swirling sulfur and volcanic hues, did not exhibit such behavior on this Dragon King.

But facing a camp of merely hundreds of warriors, Fog Dragon Deniro felt as if confronting a Red Dragon blatantly displaying its presence.

This naturally triggered Deniro’s innate crisis sense as part of the Dragon Race, causing the magically manifested scales to tightly cling to his skin, enhancing surface defense.

”No need to be tense, Deniro, here are warriors loyal to the Empire. They will be the prototype and pioneer for our future Legion warriors, the iron hoof with which we conquer the world,”

Karon turned his head to soothe the somewhat ruffled big cat.

Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha was back to Karon, who usually concealed his aura, hence unable to detect Karon’s arrival. But as a descendant of Red Dragon Blood, Saha was innately sensitive to the presence of the Ancestral Red Dragon.

Even if the presence of Red Dragon couldn’t be sensed physically, there was always a connection and touch between minds.

Thus, Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha strode across the training square, standing in the central position, sweeping over all the warriors; his calm voice, at this moment, drowned out all the noise and turmoil in the field.

”This is it, the Emperor has arrived,” he said to all the warriors.

This Dragon Descendant Werewolf knelt on one knee, lowering his head.

All the warriors on the field simultaneously knelt at this moment, offering their respect to the Emperor they pledged allegiance to.

”Your Majesty! My lord!” The warriors’ voices, merely simple and vigorous, resonating across the square.

For his Imperial Guard Corps warriors, Karon’s attitude was straightforward, never excessively euphemistic.

His dark golden pupils scanned all the warriors, meeting each earnest gaze, and slowly spoke.

”’Burning Hooves’ is the name I personally chose for you, from the start of joining the Legion, you should know your true responsibilities.”

Karon’s common language might not be as turbulent as the Dragon Language, but his whispers echoed in every warrior’s ear.

”You are exceptional warriors, destined to be my iron hooves, yet I want to see if your swords are sharp, if your wisdom is adequate, if you are capable of bearing this mission!”

Boom,

Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha silently pounded his fist on his chest, without a word, as warriors eagerly echoed the thundering beats on their firm chests, like striking a massive drum.

The warriors fervently gazed at the towering Emperor, with imposing stature and rugged scale armor, who only needed a command for the warriors to raise their weapons and trample across seas and mountains.

Karon’s lips curved into a satisfied smile, he raised his claw, magic power’s spiritual light burst forth at this moment, and a colossal Magic Teleportation Gate appeared before the warriors.

The warriors looked up, and on the other end of the gate was the majestic and grand Dragon King’s Castle, where the Royal Court of the Golden Empire resided.

And on the square at that end of the gate, squads of warriors were already prepared, with rows of scholars whispering among themselves.

”Go, step through this gate, embrace your forging. Only steel tempered from blood and fire can become the sharp blade in my hand to cleave all,” Karon said, ”There, lies a world awaiting you; bring it to me!”

”Great King, Supreme Emperor, Revered Master,” Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha uttered with excitement, the Dragon Descendant Werewolf laughed loudly: ”Under Your radiant favor, we shall hunt what you need.”

Dragon-Wolf Species rose and ordered the entire Legion of warriors: ”All troops, form ranks, prepare to set off.”

While on the other side of the Teleportation Gate, numerous soldiers on the square were poised for action, including five hundred robust and adept Beastman Warriors.

These Beastman Warriors each showed excitement on their faces, as being part of such a crucial military operation meant the Beastman group had already integrated into the Golden Empire’s system, becoming a true member of the Empire.

Beside them sat boxes of armory and supplies, including customized armor crafted by Imperial master artisans for the ’Burning Hooves’ Legion warriors.

Several commanding officers were briefing the soldiers about the mission’s purpose and strategic intent, as these warriors were meticulously selected elitists who, after this trial, would be dispatched to various legions, serving as old leading the new.

This is also the main strategy of the Imperial Legion training its warriors, spreading out from a focal point.
