Beneath the Red Dragon

But when this Imperial Guard Warrior jumped off the Flying Dragon’s back, it made a bang.

This wasn’t a reflection of the warrior’s lacking quality, but rather a trend of competition that had recently emerged among these Imperial Guard Warriors.

These formidable warriors liked to bear the weight of the heavy Magical Armor solely with their bodies, thereby training their physical strength and resilience.

Only during combat training would these warriors activate the Magic Core.

But if you notice an Imperial Guard Warrior suddenly activating their Magical Armor anywhere within the territory, remember not to ask them why, or if they’ve spotted any danger.

Nor should you ridicule them, for these warriors will indeed chase after you and give you a good beating.

”Commander Gulal,” the warrior nodded, the Energy Armor emitting a sound of mechanical rotation, ”My name is Gilenis, and I’m here with important news for you.”

Gulal saw the Imperial Guard Warrior hadn’t revealed their true face and was unconcerned, knowing these warriors were the most trusted henchmen of the Dragon Emperor Karon Gogomola.

Before joining the ranks, each Imperial Guard Warrior must at least match Gulal’s prowess with bare hands and uncovered body.

Moreover, Gulal had heard that, even after passing the test of loyalty, these warriors cannot immediately join the ranks of the guard.

They must undergo various arduous training, injections of various potions for enhancement, and learn various abilities to become a novice in the guard.

Thus, these warriors, even in the guard’s ordinary ranks, cannot be regarded as typical creatures.

Rumor has it some Imperial Guard Warriors not only receive injections of Dragon-blood Potion, but also have bloodline potions crafted from Demons in the Abyss, Devils in Hell, used by these resolute warriors as enhancers.

Hence, Gulal nodded, saluted with a chest pound, smiled, and asked, ”What command does His Majesty bring, do we need to gather the soldiers of the legion?”

The warrior shook his head, standing in full Magical Armor, towering over the two-meter-tall Beastman Warlord Gulal like a strong father overlooking his young child.

Whenever the warrior moved slightly more than usual, the heavy Magical Armor would automatically adjust to his movements, emitting subtle adjustment sounds, which greatly envied Gulal.

”No need for now, once I inform you, I must proceed to the First Legion’s camp,” the warrior’s voice echoed from the majestic Dragon-faced Helmet.

He said, ”In compliance with His Majesty’s decree, the Beastman Legion must select two hundred warriors—warriors of the strongest will, body, and mind—for trials and assessments, albeit accompanied by certain risks.”

Beastman Warlord Gulal knew the risks the warrior mentioned might be life-threatening dangers, yet he nodded without hesitation.

”Then may I, Gulal, the Beastman Warlord, be eligible to partake in the trial?” Gulal’s calm eyes revealed anticipation; he had his own suspicions.

”You are certainly eligible, but,” the warrior hesitated slightly, then advised the Beastman he favored, ”His Majesty has recently allowed Dragon Lords to establish their own Dragon Legions. I suggest you seek a more noble, more potent power.”

”And His Majesty?” Gulal abruptly asked, the Beastman’s tranquil eyes flashing brightly, his ambition unmistakable at this moment.

But this wasn’t considered an offense to the Dragon Emperor, as nearly everyone within the territory yearned for the Emperor’s favor and nurturing, and they all desired the supreme power and potential bestowed by the Dragon Emperor.

The warrior suddenly chuckled, a muffled sound emanating, ”Heh heh, every mortal longs for the favor of Divine Spirits, His Majesty’s glory—even we Imperial Guard Warriors fiercely desire it.”

”However, I admire your ambition, Beastman Commander Gulal,” the warrior extended a hand to pat this powerful Beastman, nearly crossing the threshold of Saint Tier, causing him to retreat two steps.

”You might be unaware due to being on the prairie, so I’ll tell you,”

”His Majesty has declared throughout the territory, the Northern Territory, and even the entire world that anyone achieving a thousand undefeated victories in the ’Proof of Glory’ Gladiatorial Arena in the Royal Capital can meet with His Majesty, who will grant them one request.”

”Even if it’s His Majesty’s Divine Blood, he will fulfill the request.”

The warrior smiled: ”Recently, trials are held within each legion to select the strongest warriors to embrace this supreme glory. Only by dominating every warrior within the legion can one step into the arena for the ultimate challenge.”

”Only then can they attain that supreme glory, the Emperor’s championship.”

At this moment, even knowing the road ahead was fraught with countless seemingly invincible opponents, Gulal couldn’t help but feel his blood boil; there are no warriors who dislike battle, nor are there valiant ones who don’t anticipate glory.

Especially for such a grand occasion, destined to stir the entire Land of Golden, the Northern Territory, even the whole world, because capturing the championship crown is bound not to be achieved in a short time.

Amid the brewing momentum, countless individuals craving Red Dragon’s Blood yet fearful of pursuing other means will come forth; perhaps it will be an epic gladiatorial festivity affecting numerous people, even the entire world.
