Beneath the Red Dragon

”I’ve heard that not only the Metal Dragons but also many Gem Dragons have joined the Good Dragon Alliance, which is truly admirable.”

The eyeball color of Brass Dragon Holister was quite dim, but his gaze was profoundly deep as he stared at the dark golden pupils of the Ancestral Red Dragon for a long time before speaking.

”Initially, when the Dragon Crowned Council sent me here to investigate, I was really reluctant to leave my own lair. You must know, in my impression, this was still a desolate land, full of ignorant and foolish beasts everywhere, and it was land ruled by a group of Five-Colored Dragons, even worse, this Five-Colored Dragon group is led by a Red Dragon.”

Brass Dragon Holister observed the calm expression of the Ancestral Red Dragon, then explained, ”Of course, it’s not exactly correct to say that Metal Dragons are naturally repulsed by Five-Colored Dragons, at least in front of the Five-Colored Dragons you lead, this is not a correct view.”

”I just didn’t expect this place to be unexpectedly good, although there are still many problems, at least, it can make a Giant Dragon like to stay here, that is enough, and you are also a leader with extraordinary vision, capable of appreciating my high aesthetic taste,”

Holister carelessly picked up a rare metal with his claws, popped it into his mouth, and smacked his lips while complaining discontentedly, ”But most people don’t understand, my advanced vision, the fashionable clothes I designed are often not accepted by those conservative nobles and people.”

”They don’t know, this accumulation of design concepts is something I’ve been capturing since my teenage years, oh, learned from adventurers and visitors from various planes, they fundamentally do not understand my ideas, too confined by their own narrow knowledge.”

The Brass Dragon race, although among the Metal Dragons considered more easygoing, lacking the arrogance of the Golden Dragons towards other alien races, has a severely serious flaw, or rather a notoriously infamous trait.

That is incessant chatter, and much of it is purposeless idle talk.

These Brass Dragons generally have a good temper, can tolerate some jokes from other races, but they absolutely cannot tolerate being interrupted when speaking.

A young Brass Dragon, even if not very experienced, could talk a whole day long full of repetitive nonsense, let alone a middle-aged Brass Dragon who has lived for countless years and experienced countless events unimaginable to mortal races.

Moreover, although Brass Dragons are considered one of the weaker types among True Dragons, their ancient age grants them deep strength, with a middle-aged Brass Dragon not differing much in power from an adult Golden Dragon.

Fortunately, Karon was well prepared for this situation, leaving behind a human form, his most patient side, to face the talkativeness of the Brass Dragon, able to quietly filter out some useful information from his endless chatter.

Holister was dispatched by the Good Dragon Alliance to the Northern Territory, overseeing the entire region as an inspector. Although the control of the Good Dragon Alliance over the organization is not as tight as that of nations and lords, most matters could be handled by Holister’s own judgment.

But the Gogomola Dragon Group had consecutively won victories over the Beastman Kingdom, as well as defeating and detaining several Metal Dragons, especially the Ancestral Golden Dragon Obilash.

This matter has attracted special attention from some members of the Dragon Crowned Council, therefore, even Brass Dragon Holister must come in person and try to negotiate with the Ancestral Red Dragon to release a few Metal Dragons.

And Brass Dragon Holister, in future times, is likely to be stationed long-term within the territory of the Golden Empire due to orders from the Good Dragon Alliance.

Nominally, it is to maintain contact with the Gogomola Dragon Group, but in reality, it is to supervise the future developments of the entire Empire.

Moreover, though Brass Dragon Holister is endlessly talkative, with a lot of pointless chatter, he still intentionally or unintentionally touches upon exploring the true purpose behind Karon establishing the Ten Thousand Dragons Temple.

In the eyes of Brass Dragon Holister, those Dragon Gods equally revered within the Ten Thousand Dragons Temple, though nominally belonging to the same Dragon Pantheon, do not share this concept.

Not to mention being enemies, Bahamut and Tiamat, who stirred up the Holy War of the Dragon Race in ancient times, other Dragon Gods also possess their own alignments and purposes.

It’s hard to imagine how such a hotchpotch could peacefully exist within the Ten Thousand Dragons Temple.

Finally, it’s the nature of the Brass Dragon, Holister, to seek some benefits, as he has heard and witnessed the wealth of the Dragon Empire. This is the unchangeable nature of the Dragon Race.
