Armed Train in the Apocalypse

He must shake off the Pan-Asian Alliance’s involvement, even if others think it’s the Deep Blue Data’s doing, he can’t admit it. Not a shred of this matter can stick to the company. Knowing that Haywood is so ruthless, even if he pressed people to death, he would never let them go.

As a native Donghuang force, wanting to survive on this land, one can betray anyone, but never betray the land itself. This is an imprint from thousands of years, already engraved in the bones and soul.

The apocalypse can shake the regime but it cannot shake the soul, unless this nation is completely annihilated!

”Has the support sent to Donghuang Heavy Industry arrived?”

”It has arrived, and there’s a reply from Donghuang Heavy Industry, encrypted multiple times, requiring your final decryption.”

”Let everyone in, and when this matter is brought up during the meeting, we’ll look at it together. As board members, they have the right to know.”

The person behind him withdrew, and the company’s board of directors and management began to enter gradually.

The meeting officially began, first with a few matters deciding the life and death of tens of thousands of people, quickly passed through rounds of voting, then it came to the incident of the Four Nations invasion.

Some said to deny it to the end, some said to cut off Haywood, others proposed to secretly execute Haywood, in any case, no one was willing to bear this loss in terms of national integrity.

”I suggest providing support to Donghuang Heavy Industry.”

A general manager said.

The vice president hosting the meeting admirably glanced at Fu Lanshan, then said, ”At the first moment of the incident, President Fu had already provided the appropriate support.”

”No wonder it’s President Fu, always thinking ahead.”

”This way, Donghuang Heavy Industry owes us a favor, making some plans easier to execute.”

”Indeed, the tigress of Donghuang Heavy Industry is difficult to deal with, opportunities to make her owe a favor are rare.”

”After all, we provided tangible support, even if she’s fierce, there’s nothing she can say.”

The atmosphere of the meeting suddenly relaxed a lot; as long as Donghuang Heavy Industry acknowledged their support, most of the matter would be settled. By then, if they handled Haywood internally, it would be considered completely settled.

As a force in the same Gravity Zone as the headquarters, Donghuang Heavy Industry’s damage indirectly benefits Deep Blue Data.

Add to that some impact on the railway, it’s an all-win situation!

The quick-minded ones were already thinking about how to gain personal benefits from this incident, ”The Four Nations Alliance has preserved considerable military strength, should we send troops to support?”

The vice president timely said, ”President Fu has already asked and received a reply.”

The general manager was stunned, ”A reply from that woman Lord Lian? What did she say?”

Everyone was a bit curious.

The vice president projected the information onto the screen, then handed over the speaking rights of the meeting to Fu Lanshan.

He input the password, the letter underwent various complex decryptions, and finally unfolded in text form throughout the meeting.

The document was very brief, but it carried an unparalleled domineering posture that shocked everyone in the meeting room. Even Fu Lanshan seemed to see a flamboyant and striking woman standing on the rooftop, her fists stained with blood, her red lips opening and closing, spitting out four words as hard as iron.

”Fuck you!”

...

Su Huan naturally was unaware that he was already labeled a fool by a furious beauty.

In his view, this matter didn’t have a choice.

For others, national integrity outweighed everything, but he was already a thorough wastelander, his era came after even the apocalypse people, where nation and society had completely disintegrated, morals collapsed, and conglomerates rampaged across the wilderness.

More importantly, he had promised Liang Kuan but hadn’t promised Lian Jin.

That’s all there is to it.

The train raced towards He Shui, He Shui being the second largest river in the North, spanning from the Northern Alliance across most of Donghuang, diagonally cutting through the Four Countries Peninsula into the sea.

Earlier, Donghuang Heavy Industry and the Four Nations boundary was He Shui.

But the Four Nations were restless, always coveting Donghuang’s land, in early 20th-century wars, not only were they repelled, but even their original land was split and taken, making He Shui entirely Donghuang’s domestic river, while the Four Nations curled up on the peninsula licking their wounds, occasionally fighting among themselves.

Liang Kuan’s home was just over ten kilometers from He Shui, in Yuchuan Province Guiyi City He Shui City He Shui Town, being a county-level city, it belonged to a prefecture-level city.

The closer it got to the North, the deeper the autumn grew, the South was still a shallow layer of frozen soil, entering Yuchuan territory was basically late autumn.

Red maple forests mixed with green mutant plants rampantly grew in the autumn wind, falling leaves danced like blades, making screeching sounds on the train carriages.

In the 13th activity room car, Su Han seemed stirred, retracting her gaze onto Zhang Qiang across from her.

The latter’s gaze was fixed on the table, as if each item in the activity room held unforgettable memories for him.

Though her father pointed out that this person had average Evolutionary Ability but was extremely cautious, adept at all kinds of hiding techniques, no matter the scenario, could blend in with the crowd— even as a comrade, Su Han often overlooked this inconspicuous guy.

’No wonder he was Father’s select personnel, truly professional!’

Su Han contemplating, analyzed intently, ”I think the current investigation method is flawed, these places all have surveillance cameras, even in activity rooms. Under such surveillance, even the Tongzhou Association wouldn’t say anything out of line, so we need another location.”

Zhang Qiang internally sighed again; when stopped in the Cultivation Pod earlier, he had a premonition his calm days were numbered. Sure enough, not long after, Su Han found him, and her first statement almost scared him to death.

”My dad is Su Huan.”

After a few sentences, he realized the conductor had somehow taken a daughter, just as he thought Su Huan was passing some secret task in his capacity as chairman, unexpectedly Su Han was investigating the train’s secret organization.

Initially, it left him bewildered, the train had a resistance group more hidden than the Tongzhou Association?

Even he didn’t know?

After two days of hassle, he figured it out—Su Han was investigating the Tongzhou Association itself.

Furthermore, knowing it was Su Huan who sent her, he understood his role.

Isn’t this just playing detective games with the maiden...

Since this was the conductor’s wish, what choice did Zhang Qiang have, except to accompany her? After all, his time as a small character wasn’t worth much.

Although he had been on the train long enough, due to the Tongzhou Association, Zhang Qiang kept himself hidden, so he was still only a second-class attendant staffer, purely upgraded by virtue of serving enough terms.

Then began days of accompanying the maiden, needing to cautiously conceal all hints.

While occasionally releasing some information when Su Han hit dead-ends, enhancing the game experience, even the name Tongzhou Association he had orchestrated to reveal to her.

Like a struggling novelist, Zhang Qiang needed to use the protagonist’s perspective to guide the reader lords, providing emotional value to them, while designing antagonists and upcoming plot lines, needing to leave room, not truly betraying his characters.

Moreover, Su Han was very intelligent, not easily fooled, increasing the difficulty of his designs by several levels. Just thinking how to deceive Su Han was making his hair fall out.

”Most places on the train have surveillance, except for private carriages, but of course, we can’t investigate in someone’s personal room...”

”Is there a somewhat private, surveillance-free public space?”

Zhang Qiang’s gaze was somewhat complex.

He not only knew where surveillance wasn’t, he also knew where the Tongzhou Association gathered daily and what they talked about.

But can this be told directly?

He could only guide gently, ”I don’t know about that, but you could check the surveillance feeds, wherever you can’t see on the cameras might be the usual public communication space for them...”
