Armed Train in the Apocalypse

”Don’t say another word, I’m getting angry too. I have to kill a few more.”

”Give me the gun!”

The weasels in the room turned into two wolves, grinding their teeth with a sinister glint in their eyes.

...

”January 1, 2037, gravity imbalance.”

”Just as we set off on our journey to find someone, we encountered a gravity imbalance. The ground shattered before me, and then, as it lost gravity, it floated upwards into the sky. Some floating lands, due to lost gravity, started to fall. This was the irresistible might of nature.”

The train traveled at an extremely slow pace towards the edge of He Shui, managing to cover an average of only eighty kilometers a day due to various pits and phenomena of gravity imbalance, and sometimes needing to take detours.

But thanks to the train’s advanced detection equipment, it has never fallen into a crisis.

Along the way, it even pulled out a small convoy stuck in a gravity zone.

Su Huan still sat at the front of the train, watching the bizarre scenery pass by. He casually grabbed a fruit from the basket next to him, not bothering to see what it was, and stuffed it into his mouth, crunching it loudly with the skin and all.

”Hmm, sweet.”

Su Huan noted it down in his journal and began to savor the aftertaste.

Before long, his eyes began to blur, and he grabbed another new fruit.

A strong spicy sensation erupted in his mouth, with crackling sounds accompanying the sensation every time he opened his mouth. The fruit pulp seemed to dance around like popping candy in his mouth, but before it could escape, his dense teeth crushed it into juice, transforming it into a fiery line straight to his stomach.

Yet, his blurry eyes cleared.

He jotted down some characteristics, ”Spicy, highly poisonous, corrosive, with a refreshing effect, slightly strengthens the body.”

Ever since that jujube, Su Huan had increasingly taken a liking to these strange plants, specifically asking Director Xu and the others to select some.

He didn’t care if they were poisonous or tasted bad.

As long as they could stimulate his taste buds with sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, or salty flavors, he would eat them.

Moreover, the taste of these evolved plants was far more diverse than traditional ones, with all sorts of strange flavors, like opening a blind box.

Su Huan reached out again, but the fruit basket was empty.

However, a pear was handed to him, and he took a bite. It had none of the extreme flavors or side effects he expected, just a simple sweetness that filled his mouth.

Yu Yue quietly sat down, her knee leaning towards him, her voice gentle, ”Is the pressure getting to you?”

Su Huan leaned into the woman’s lap as if he had no bones, squinting while gnawing on the pear.

Yu Yue hesitated, ”I feel like you’re just like the train beneath us.”

”How so?”

”You’ve packed in so much that you’re getting heavier, and can’t pick up speed.”

His narrow eyes glanced at the woman nonchalantly.

”So what do you want me to give up?”

”No, I want to help you carry some of it.”

”What if you can’t handle it?”

Looking at Su Huan’s intense gaze on her, the woman’s neck and smooth chin turned slightly red, but her eyes remained firm.

”There’s also Shu Wei.”

The crisp sound of chewing paused slightly, and then with a bit of ease and jest, ”What if that’s still not enough?”

”Ah, who else? Is there anyone bigger than the two of us?”

The woman’s almond-shaped eyes went wide, looking particularly endearing.

”Can’t it be someone smaller?”

”Smaller? Lin Xi? No, no, she’s too young... even Tan Yunxi is a bit older.”

”That’s not just a bit older.”

Su Huan clicked his tongue, casually implying, ”Anyone more like you?”

He could clearly feel the woman shudder, just when he thought there would be no response, she spoke in a soft voice.

”...I’ll talk to Xiaojing.”

Seeing the woman biting the bullet, Su Huan suddenly felt as if his heart had been tugged. He despised the weakness of succumbing to evil, but since the evil was him, the feeling became rather subtle.

With so many places arranged for him, wasn’t she afraid of having no place for herself?

”Actually, Xiaojing isn’t—”

”You’re not pregnant, are you?”

”Hmm?”

Su Huan hooked the woman’s chin with his hand, the small, not too much, not too little, soft flesh in her chin made his heart soft.

”Do you want to run away with the child?”

Her long hair fell, and the woman was forced to meet his eyes directly, her gaze started to wander, ”Not yet...”

”Then let’s reinforce it tonight.”

”...Okay.”

Yu Yue got up and left, only to sneak back a moment later, ”Then should we call Xiaojing?”

Looking at the unprincipled little woman, Su Huan’s lips curled up, ”If you want to give her a lesson, bring her along.”

Yu Yue blushed fiercely and retreated.

After Yu Yue left, Su Huan thought for a while and stood up too. Now that most things were handed over to Shu Wei, things were easier, but many times he didn’t know what was happening below. Especially after just mentioning Yu Jing, he suddenly wanted to see what she was up to lately.

’If only she could be as obedient as her mother.’

...

Without battle tasks, the train fell into a relatively peaceful daily routine.

The freshly trained mongoose, post-bath, stood in line at the train’s fruit and vegetable shop with a cardboard box, listening to the chatter around about the expectant mother from the manufacturing group, about the train captain’s adopted daughter vigorously investigating on board, about how many points her man earned last month... talking about everything unrelated to life and death.

During this time, Miao Qi would often wear her most revealing outfit, chirping secrets on how to attract men into her ear.

Back then, she would only feel helpless, thinking that this time could be better spent grabbing a quick bite in the dining car, followed by more time for training, evolving, and making herself stronger.

Now, no one pulls her out for grocery shopping anymore, but whenever there are no training tasks, she’ll inexplicably dig out that cardboard box and, as if drawn by an invisible force, come here to line up.

Even though she can’t cook, and has no one to share with.

Hmm, that’s not entirely true.

There is someone who always tries to get close, but as her evolution speeds up, only Li Han remains.

Strictly speaking, as a twenty-three-year-old youth, she understands Li Han’s feelings. But since he doesn’t express them, she’s also hesitant to reject him. A harsh rejection might mean losing her only friend.

”Kitty, it’s your turn. Why not join us for dinner?”

Little Box’s clear voice pulled her out of her world. The young girl, dressed in a black and white dress, was holding the arm of her main officer, Qu Hang, who nodded to her calmly with a basket in his arm.

The mongoose shook her head, ”I have something to do later.”

”Alright then.”

Little Box chatted and laughed as she left with Qu Hang.

The mongoose wasn’t actually busy; she just didn’t want to be a third wheel. Seeing loving couples always makes her inadvertently slip into memories, getting lost in the past isn’t conducive to the future.

After picking out a couple of fruits and vegetables, Miao Qi carried the box back, munching on a melon-type fruit as she walked.

The train now had a rich variety of fruits and vegetables, and her salary had increased a lot, too. While not eating fruits or vegetables every meal, snacking on them between hearty meals was no longer an issue.

As she traversed the corridor echoes, she suddenly heard a light hum ahead.

Her nose twitched, and she frowned slightly.

She didn’t take two steps before a young girl carrying a giant part approached from the front. Her black shirt stretched into a full curve at the chest, but the most striking were the two huge ears on her head, softly fluttering with each step.

The mongoose wasn’t jealous of Tan Yunxi for her talent at a young age, but it was the smell on her that made her uncomfortable.

On top of that, Tan Yunxi’s scent was inexplicably mingled with that of the train captain’s, making her even less fond of this cocky brat.

”Huh, where did the stray cat come from, gnawing on an iron-skinned pumpkin, hilarious,”

Tan Yunxi’s breezy, arrogant voice arrived two steps ahead of her.

Although Tan Yunxi herself lagged by two steps, she had reached the middle of the corridor, her slender, well-proportioned legs spreading apart, filling the entire corridor.
