Chapter 286, Death Desert Ocean

Translator: Silavin

Finally, a Divine Grade Treasure Map lay in Lu Fan’s System Sub-Space.

Lu Fan took a glance at this Treasure Map and discovered its coordinates were in a Map called Death Desert Ocean.

[This Map somehow feels a little familiar… I just can’t recall where I had seen it before… Could it be a relatively obscure, less famous Map?] Puzzled, Lu Fan took out his phone to search online but found no information about the Death Desert Ocean.

[If there’s nothing online, why does this Map feel so familiar?] While Lu Fan was pondering over this, he received a text message from Zhao Shengming.

Zhao Shengming sent him a document and informed Lu Fan that this was the list of all 460 wagered resources, which Elder Han had asked him to send to Lu Fan. He reminded how Lu Fan could choose ten of these for himself.

Lu Fan opened up the list to look. Suddenly, memories flooded his mind and he finally recalled how and where he had heard about the Death Desert Ocean.

During the previous State Banquet, when the Twenty-Three Country Alliance revealed their wagered resources, he had heard about it there. Moreover, this Map seemed to be a Dungeon Instance wagered by Extremistis Country.

Lu Fan quickly searched through the list for Dungeon Instances, and he indeed found the Map’s details.

This was one of the twenty resources wagered by Extremistis Country. It was a Dungeon Instance discovered during land development in the western part of their territory.

After its discovery, this Dungeon Instance was sealed away to be used as a wager for the National Trial. So, detailed information about it was still currently unavailable.

The only known information was that this was a 4-6 men, Level 70 Nightmare Dungeon Instance. It was stated to be several times more difficult than ordinary Dungeon Instances of the same Level.

Of course, for Lu Fan, a Dungeon Instance of this Level was still manageable. In fact, he should be able to Clear it with ease.

Additionally, the list noted how beside this Dungeon Instance, there was a newly discovered area called Divine Bone Forest. It contained many Level 60+ Monsters. They were numerous and powerful, providing High Experience Points, making it an excellent place for Levelling Up.

Similarly, this area was also one of Extremistis Country’s wagered resources.

Lu Fan had no interest in the Divine Bone Forest, but he was determined to obtain the Death Desert Ocean.

[Seems like my luck is on a roll. Claiming this Divine Grade Treasure Map would be easy now.] Delighted, Lu Fan immediately marked Death Desert Ocean, making it one of the ten resources he wanted.

As for the others, Lu Fan looked through the list to see if he could find any Maps he could use to claim his Treasure Maps.

Unfortunately for Lu Fan, among the more than 400 resources, there were no corresponding Map coordinates that matched his other Treasure Maps.

With no choice, Lu Fan could only select resources useful to him. He needed to choose nine more High Level, High Experience Point Reward Dungeon Instances, which he plans on slowly  Clearing in the future.

As for the rest of the list, Lu Fan did not delete them but recorded them down.

After all, many on the list were newly discovered areas from the Twenty-Three Country Alliance’s recent exploration efforts. It was possible that his future Treasure Map coordinates might be set in one of these on the list. Keeping a record of them was certainly beneficial for himself. It was much better to be safe than sorry, after all. If another Divine Grade Treasure Map’s coordinates were set in one of these Maps, Lu Fan would know where he needed to go to claim the Treasure Map.

Soon, Lu Fan marked the ten he wanted and sent them to Zhao Shengming, who passed them on to Elder Han. Elder Han would pick and sign the resource transfer agreements with other countries that evening.

It took until ten o’clock that night for the whole National Trial to be finally completely settled.

Elder Han personally brought Zhao Shengming and the others to find Lu Fan, smilingly telling Lu Fan that the ten he had chosen now all belonged to Dragon Country, which meant that they essentially belonged to Lu Fan from now on.

The ten Dungeon Instances now belonged exclusively to Lu Fan. That means, he could clear them whenever he wanted and let whoever he wanted Clear them. He could retain them until he felt like he no longer needed these Dungeon Instances. When that happens, he could always return them to Dragon Country to handle.

Though nothing new, Lu Fan was still very happy to hear this. He asked Elder Han when he could start Clearing these Dungeon Instances.

Elder Han said anytime was fine, but since Dragon Country had just taken over them, they did not have any direct Transport Arrays to these locations set up yet.

It would take about three days for the Transport Arrays to be set up. By that time, Lu Fan could go to any Dungeon Instance to start Clearing.

This was how Map handovers worked. Taking Death Desert Ocean as an example, although it was currently located within Extremistis Country’s territory, since Dragon Country had won over Death Desert Ocean, they had the right to build Transport Arrays at the Dungeon Instance entrance, as well as placed guard camps to protect the Transport Arrays.

This was not in violation of International Laws.

Currently, if Lu Fan wanted to go to Death Desert Ocean, he either had to ride his Pet Dragon there or wait for Dragon Country’s specialists to set up the Transport Arrays and use them to teleport there.

Lu Fan thought about it and felt no rush. He could go back first. When the Transport Arrays had been prepared, he could bring his Auntie and the others to the Death Desert Ocean Dungeon Instance. First, to Clear the Dungeon Instance and to help everyone Level Up, and second, to claim his Divine Grade Treasure Map.

If this Treasure Map could yield another Dragon Egg, that would be an absolute win. That way, Lu Fan would have his fifth Pet Dragon!

Lu Fan was about to reach Level 45 and unlock a new Pet Slot. So, even though his Pet Slots were currently full, he would soon be able to hatch another Dragon Egg!

After stating his decision, Elder Han had no objections, and Zhao Shengming also indicated that he would have the University send some people to help arrange everything for Lu Fan and Jian Ying’s group to Clear the Death Desert Ocean Dungeon Instance.

Night passed.

The next day, in the morning, Lu Fan had planned to leave Extremistis Country with Elder Han, but they had their departure delayed until the afternoon.

This was because Feather Country’s delegates and their representative had specifically extended an invitation to them. They wanted to treat Lu Fan and his entourage to lunch to show their gratitude.

Both delegations had clearly seen what happened between Lu Fan and Andrei in the National Trial Secret Realm. Everyone knew that if Lu Fan had wanted to kill Andrei, Andrei would have absolutely no way to leave the National Trial alive, and he would have died earlier than Charles.

Not only did Lu Fan not kill Andrei, but he also helped him clear the Mission to kill the Hell Demon. The kindness he showed made the Feather Country delegation so grateful to Lu Fan that they were practically ready to kowtow.

In fact, the relationship between Dragon Country and Feather Country has been great in recent years. So, when they earnestly invited them, Elder Han did not refuse. After discussing it with Lu Fan, they decided to attend the banquet.

At the banquet, Elder Han discussed some future cooperation between the two countries with the Feather Country delegation. As for Lu Fan, this was not his field of expertise. So, he just spent his time casually chatting with Andrei.

The two got along well, and their relationship grew much closer during this banquet. They even started to call each other ‘Brother’.

…

While Feather Country and Dragon Country were having a great time, at the Jin Family Residence in Extremistis Country, Jin Zaian sat in the main seat of a conference room, his face cold with murderous intent.

Before him was a High Ranking Official from Extremistis Country in a suit and tie. He had just reported important news.

This news made Jin Zaian pleased. “Is what you’re saying true? The Dragon Country representative will be clearing our Death Desert Ocean Dungeon Instance in a few days?”

The High Ranking Official nodded and reported. “Absolutely true!”

“Hehe, my Older Brother has been troubled by the fact that there are four unparalleled experts lurking around the Dragon Country representative team. With them there, he can’t find an opportunity to make a move.” Jin Zaian clenched his fist and sneered, “But now, the target is walking right into our crosshairs.”

“The Divine Bone Forest surrounds the Death Desert Ocean Dungeon Instance. We have recently just started developing it, with two our three ace military units being currently stationed there.”

“If that kid really goes to Clear our Death Desert Ocean, we won’t even need my Older Brother and the other four Seniors to act. Just deploying these two ace military units will be enough to surround and kill him!”

Silavin: Ace military units are practically armies. I don’t know if they are air borne or sea borne, so I just left them as units.
