Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 261, Who Are You Trying to Bluff?

Translator: Silavin

A sudden voice could be heard, startling Jin Chenghan and Musashi Ten, causing them both to look toward the entrance.

There, they saw Lu Fan standing with his arms crossed, watching the two with interest.

When they saw Lu Fan had over a million points above his head, and had become first, both Jin Chenghan and Musashi Ten’s eyes showed unbridled greed.

Lu Fan met their gaze, not rushing to make a move. After all, the only exit from the Dark Castle was where he stood. He now had them trapped, like fish in a barrel – Jin Chenghan and Musashi Ten had nowhere to escape.

Since his enemies had no way out, Lu Fan could play with them for a while.

Whether it was Jin Chenghan or Musashi Ten, both had quite a few points on them. If he killed them, Lu Fan could surely profit.

“What a coincidence! I didn’t expect you’d find your way here too!” Jin Chenghan acted even more composed than Lu Fan. He made no extra movements. Instead, he held his staff while greeting Lu Fan.

Lu Fan thought to himself, [This is basically my castle now, isn’t it normal for me to find my way back here? In fact, why have you come to my ‘home’?]

However, before Lu Fan could speak, Musashi Ten beside him grinned, his face twisting into a dangerous expression.

“Jin-san, why waste words with him? Let’s just kill him. With so many points on him, let’s quickly finish him off and then discuss how to split the points between us. We cannot let him escape!”

“Oh? Someone from Cherry Blossom Country?” Lu Fan looked at Musashi Ten, whom he had never seen before, thinking to himself that he was really lucky today. [Buy one get one free?]

Cherry Blossom Country had fought a great war against Dragon Country in the past, and their grudges ran deep. Naturally, this Cherry Blossom Country representative was also on Lu Fan’s must-kill list.

Jin Chenghan waved his hand, speaking unhurriedly to Musashi Ten: “No need to rush. You should know that I have a grudge against him. It would be too easy to just kill him. Later, cut off his limbs, but keep him alive. I’ll have my Summons properly torture him.”

“No problem.” Musashi Ten replied with a smile, treating Lu Fan like a fish on the chopping block. “Hehe, the points from two Dark Castles will soon be ours! Just thinking about it makes me excited!”

Lu Fan narrowed his eyes slightly, noticing something unusual. [How did these two know my points are related to the Dark Castles?]

[Well, since the National Trial is being hosted by Extremistis Country, I guess it would not be a surprise for Jin Chenghan to know about such things. Most likely he had some kind of way to cheat. A special privilege by the host country?].

However, Lu Fan was surprised that even though they knew he had obtained so many points by clearing the Dark Castle, they did not run upon seeing him, but instead set their sights on his points. [Aren’t they just seeking death?]

“Knowing that I cleared two Dark Castles to obtain so many points, yet you two still dare to make a move against me?” Lu Fan looked at the two with interest. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll clear you out like the Demon Army?”

After these words, Musashi Ten and Jin Chenghan exchanged glances, then burst into laughter.

“Lu Fan, you think by saying this, we’ll believe you’re powerful and become afraid of you?” Jin Chenghan laughed until his eyes became slits. “What a bluff. Truly laughable.”

Musashi Ten also laughed. “I didn’t expect those of Dragon Country to be able to lie so shamelessly. Don’t you know how you really got your points? Or are you so good at lying that you’ve convinced yourself that these points came from clearing the Demon Army?”

Lu Fan saw how arrogant they were and became confused as to why they dared to so brazenly challenge him.

“If the points didn’t come from clearing the Demon Army, then where did they come from?” Lu Fan asked with a smile.

This question made Musashi Ten and Jin Chenghan laugh even harder.

Jin Chenghan shook his head, his laughter subsiding somewhat, and said. “How you obtained these points, you know in your heart, and we know too. You must have entered the Dark Castles and found it empty except for an ungerminated ‘seed’? Destroying the ‘seed’ gives tens of thousands of points – isn’t that how you got your points?”

“Now you’ve come here to use the same trick and get the points here…” Speaking thus, Jin Chenghan looked around and asked, “You came here looking for the ‘seed’, didn’t you?”

“Too bad we got here first. It is just unfortunate that we haven’t found it yet. Otherwise, I would also have hundreds of thousands of points!”

Musashi Ten chimed in. “Exactly. If just clearing two waves of Monsters outside counted as completing the Dark Castle, wouldn’t that mean Jin-san and I have already cleared a Dark Castle too? You’re just a Level 30-something with a Second Profession, trying to scare us off with the claim of you Solo Clearing a Dark Castle. Do you take us for fools!?”

Then, turning to Jin Chenghan, Musashi Ten said. “Jin-san, why don’t I make the first move and subdue him? He might know where the ‘seed’ is hidden. With a little persuasion, we can get the answer from him.”

“Hmm, that makes sense.” Jin Chenghan nodded, revealing his killing intent.

By now, Lu Fan understood from their words what had given them the courage to challenge him. [Turns out that after entering the Dark Castle and seeing no Monsters, they assumed something was wrong with the Dark Castle, causing the Nine Hell Demons and Demon Army not to manifest; that I had taken advantage of an exploit in the system.]

Seeing them so confident in their assumption, Lu Fan could not help but laugh. “You say you cleared two waves of Monsters outside, and that counts as clearing the Dark Castle? Do you even know what a real Dark Castle is like? Do you know how many Monsters I had to kill to get these points?”

“Why don’t I let you experience what the Dark Castle’s Demon Army is really like? After facing the real Demon Army, I hope you’ll still be as confident as you are now. Thinking my points came from an exploit. What a joke. But, well, best to experience it for yourself, and see if you really have the ability to get as many points as I did.”

With that, Lu Fan began drawing a Summoning Array.

Lu Fan’s words made Jin Chenghan and Musashi Ten pause, not understanding what he meant.
