Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 253, The Expert Solo Clearing the Dark Castle

Translator: Silavin

Undying: When the Sturdy Hell Demon dies, its shell shatters, giving birth to a new body to transcend death. After rebirth, the Sturdy Hell Demon’s Attack increases by 100%, Physical Resistance decreases by 200%, and Life Force rapidly drains until the body decays.
This Skill was treacherous. It would make the Sturdy Hell Demon remain extremely dangerous even after death.

Even after killing the Sturdy Hell Demon, there was a high possibility of mutual destruction due to this Skill.

Xing Chen’s Starlight Annihilation had directly killed the Sturdy Hell Demon, giving all the Experience Points to Lu Fan and his Pet Dragons, allowing Xing Chen to Level Up once more.

However, although the Experience Points from the Sturdy Hell Demon were received, the Undying Skill gave it a second lease at life, with higher Stats.

Lu Fan was fortunate that he chose to go all-out when striking down the Sturdy Hell Demon, giving it no chance to counterattack.

After Undying activated, Lu Fan’s Magma Burst and the Fallen Corpse Magic Dragon’s Five Elements Dragon Incantation followed in succession, bombarding the Sturdy Hell Demon.

Although the Sturdy Hell Demon’s Attack doubled, its Physical Resistance dropped even more, making it impossible to withstand such an intense assault.

Despite the Sturdy Hell Demon’s desperate struggle, only its head escaped Lu Fan’s Skill Attack Range, while its body was completely obliterated.

The Sturdy Hell Demon, with only its head remaining, was resilient and did not die immediately. Though, it lost all its combat capability.

Lu Fan suddenly realised that since the Sturdy Hell Demon was not truly dead yet, perhaps Andrei still had a chance to claim the kill and complete his Mission.

So, Lu Fan had Xiao Cui apply the Spring of Life Buff to the Sturdy Hell Demon, keeping it barely alive, and then left the Dark Castle.

Sure enough, after coming out, Lu Fan saw that Andrei’s Mission to hunt the Sturdy Hell Demon was still active, clearly showing that the Undying Sturdy Hell Demon was not truly dead.

Thus, Lu Fan generously offered this kill to Andrei.

After all, Lu Fan had already claimed the Experience Points and points. What did it matter to give Andrei the kill to complete his Mission?

It could be considered a favour.

Besides, Andrei had a great personality and was definitely someone worth befriending.

At this moment, the Sturdy Hell Demon’s head was showing signs of decay, and even the Spring of Life could not maintain its existence for much longer.

Seeing Andrei still in shock, Lu Fan reminded him. “Brother, if you don’t act now, the Mission will fail. I’ve completed another Nine Hell Demons Hunting Mission before. Once we kill our target, there’s a 150K points reward after completion. Don’t you want the points?”

Prompted by Lu Fan, Andrei came to his senses, knowing this was not the time to be rooted to the ground.

Andrei grinned and raised his hammer, saying with gratitude. “Brother, you’re really something! A true man of honour! Thank you!”

As he spoke, his hammer burst into flames, then smashed down heavily on the Sturdy Hell Demon’s head.

With a thunderous *boom*, a pillar of flame erupted skyward where the hammer struck.

This skill somewhat resembled Magma Burst.

However, in terms of power, they were worlds apart.

With such a skill landing, the Sturdy Hell Demon’s already-decaying head could not withstand it and was completely incinerated.

Subsequently, the Mission info above Andrei’s head gradually faded. This was followed by a surge in his points. Now, he had around 260K points, instantly ranking him second, just below Lu Fan.

With so many points credited to him, Andrei was overjoyed. As Lu Fan had predicted, he did not simply keep quiet after receiving so many points.

“Brother, I’m truly fortunate to be your friend!”  Andrei laughed heartily as he put away his hammer: “Originally, I thought if you could help me kill the Sturdy Hell Demon and get rid of the Mission, that would be enough. I didn’t expect you to be so amazing, not only helping me clear the Mission but also letting me complete it and get the reward! These points are truly an unexpected blessing!”

“Still, theoretically, these points should not belong to me. You were the one who killed the Boss. I should return the points to you.”

Once he said this, Andrei directly transferred all 150K points to Lu Fan.

This truly surprised Lu Fan.

He had guessed that with Andrei’s personality, he would not keep all 150K points from the Mission to himself, that he would surely share some. He never expected Andrei to give up all the points he got. This was genuinely unexpected.

This actually made Lu Fan feel extremely uncomfortable. After all, although he had killed the Boss, without Andrei, finding this Dark Castle would have likely taken a considerable amount of time and effort.

Finally, after discussing with Andrei, Lu Fan gave him 50K points.

With 50K points added, although Andrei’s total was not as impressive as the previous 260K, he still had around 160K, maintaining his second place position in the rankings.

As for Lu Fan, his points were a full decimal place higher than Andrei’s, currently approaching 1.4M.

This score, compared to the average scores of previous National Trial Secret Realm once they were done, was already enough to secure him tenth place.

Yet, right now, the National Trial Secret Realm had only been running for four days.

Regarding Lu Fan’s points, Andrei could only feel envy. Still, he knew that the Player before him was a powerhouse capable of Ultimate Mission Scroll a Dark Castle.

Was there anything wrong with this person being first in points?

Certainly not.

After dividing the ‘spoils’, Andrei prepared to part ways with Lu Fan.

He needed to go to other regions of the Secret Realm to accept Missions and farm for more points.

Since no communication devices could be used within the National Trial Secret Realm, unless they received Missions to hunt each other, it would be difficult for them to meet again after this separation.

Andrei was quite forthright. After agreeing to have a good drink with Lu Fan after the National Trial Secret Realm, he flapped his Flame Wings and left the Dark Castle. His figure was quick to disappear into the distance.

“Andrei sure is a good man. I definitely will avoid killing him.” Lu Fan smiled, then rode Xiao Ye back into the Dark Castle.

Now, Lu Fan had important matters to attend to.

Soon, purplish-black gas poured out from the Dark Castle, enveloping all the corpses outside.

These corpses began showing special reactions one by one, with their bodies reconstructing and reviving.

Numerous Corpse Eagles and Demon Skyhorn were reborn in the mist, transforming into Fallen Corpse Puppets.

Most terrifying of all, the Sturdy Hell Demon also stood up again amongst the Monsters. Its centipede-like body rapidly crawled across the ground, entering through the Dark Castle’s opened gate.

Meanwhile, within the castle, the roars of the Demon Army echoed back and forth.

Under Lu Fan’s command, he gained a second Demon Army and a second Hell Demon Fallen Corpse Puppet.

…

In the Extremistis Country’s observation room, Jin Zaian watched Lu Fan’s points surge again, and his eyes nearly popped out.

The National Trial Secret Realm had barely started a few days ago, yet the Dragon Country representative had already accumulated over a million points.

[Just how is this possible!? How in the world is the Dragon Country representative managing to increase his points so rapidly!?]

What annoyed him most was that besides Lu Fan, even the Feather Country representative Andrei had seen a surge in points, directly surpassing Jin Chenghan.

At this rate, their Extremistis Country would only be able to achieve third place!

Just as Jin Zaian was feeling both anxious and angry, a servant entered the observation room, carefully closing the door behind him before kneeling on one knee and saying: “Sir, there’s an important piece of new information!”
