Chapter 257, Three Nine Hell Demons and Twelve Bosses Under Command

“This Scroll.” Jin Chenghan smiled, “this is the key for reversing the rankings.”

“When Extremistis Country designed the National Trial Secret Realm, we intentionally left behind a Mission Scroll that appears no different from others on the surface. It is just that the Mission within this Scroll would make us target whoever is first on the rankings. The one in first place would be our target to hunt down.”

“If by the end I’m still not ranked first, I’ll find this scroll and accept the Mission to hunt down the person in first place. As long as I kill him, I’ll definitely be first!”

Musashi Ten exclaimed in surprise. “I see, to think your Extremistis Country had prepared such a trump card…”

Suddenly, he realised something strange and understood: “So when you sought an alliance with me, it wasn’t really about grinding points together, but because you were interested in my PvP capabilities. If you couldn’t get first place in the rankings, you would take up the Ultimate Mission and then work with me to hunt down whoever is in first place…”

After a pause, Musashi Ten understood even more clearly. “No, if you want to get first place, you don’t even need to grind points, you just need to accept the Mission and kill someone. This way, the person who spent days grinding to get first place would end up benefiting you instead.”

“*Tsk.* Extremistis Country’s methods are truly sophisticated beyond measure! No wonder whenever you guys host competitions, Extremistis Country people usually win. With so many ‘pleasant surprises’, who could win against you people in competitions?”

Jin Chenghan glanced at Musashi Ten and added, “I’ll just assume you’re praising our Extremistis Country. But you’re wrong about one thing. I was not actually planning to use the Ultimate Mission Scroll. If possible, I’d still prefer to work with you to gain points and become first through hunting Monsters and completing Missions.”

“After all, there are risks involved when accepting that Mission Scroll. That is, not knowing who exactly is in first place. If we happen to choose a formidable opponent, it could backfire. For example, Andrei and Charles are both too powerful for us. I have no confidence in being able to hunt them down. Especially Charles. The Moore Family has overwhelming power in Star Strip Country. If I kill him, the Moore Family would definitely retaliate against our Jin Family, causing no end in trouble.”

Musashi Ten nodded in deep agreement.

Actually, one reason why Extremistis Country and Cherry Blossom Country allied together was because these two countries were very similar.

Star Strip Country was like a mountain pressing down on them. Though they wanted to resist, they had to maintain submissive appearance on the surface.

Therefore, even though the two of them were confident they could hunt down any country’s representative in the National Trial after joining forces, they still would not dare act rashly if they encountered Charles.

But now that Jin Chenghan knew Lu Fan from Dragon Country was ranked first, this concern was gone. After all, Dragon Country was not as domineering as Star Strip Country. Thus, Extremistis Country and Cherry Blossom Country knew they could act more aggressively when dealing with Dragon Country.

Since the person in first place was not Charles but Lu Fan, Jin Chenghan was not in any hurry. He had even hoped Lu Fan would collect more points, since these points would end up in his hands at the end of the day.

Thinking of this, Jin Chenghan spoke very calmly to Musashi Ten. “Let’s go clear the Missions we have first, then find a Dark Castle to see what exploits might exist.”

Musashi Ten nodded and grinned. “Alright. If there really are exploits, you have to guarantee I’ll be second in the rankings!”

“That’s certain.”

…

A day passed in the blink of an eye.

By now, Lu Fan had arrived at the Desert region and had reached the third Dark Castle.

Strangely enough, Lu Fan had originally planned to slowly accept Missions and grind for points, only attempting Dark Castles if he happened to encounter them.

However, Lu Fan quickly encountered a Mission Scroll that turned out to be another Mission to hunt down one of the Nine Hell Demons – the Blood Hell Demon.

At this point, Lu Fan felt something was off, because out of the three Mission Scrolls he had accepted, apart from hunting Kiran, the other two were both Missions to hunt down one of the Nine Hell Demons.

[Aren’t I encountering this kind of Mission a bit too frequently?] Lu Fan had discussed this earlier while chatting with Andrei.

Andrei said he also got a Hunting Mission for one of the Nine Hell Demons on his second Mission Scrolls. At the time, he just thought he had bad luck. Now, it seemed like that was not the case. There was something wrong with the contents of the Mission Scrolls! Or at least, its distribution.

Lu Fan figured it out after some thought, [Competitions hosted by Extremistis Country sure have deep schemes inside of them.]

[But it does not matter. I had been worried about finding Dark Castles. If there are issues with the Mission Scrolls, this one certainly works in my favour?]

Thus, Lu Fan decided not to linger in the cleared Dark Castles anymore. He now took the initiative to quickly clear all the Nine Hell Demons.

After receiving his third Mission Scrolls, Lu Fan followed the Mission guidance to the Desert region and actively searched for the third Dark Castle.

After an intense battle, Lu Fan once again annihilated the Demon Army of the third Dark Castle.

This time, the Blood Hell Demon killed by Lu Fan was a Monster over five metres long, covered in armour, like a tiger. Its appearance was majestic, looking much better than the Diabolical Hell Demon and Sturdy Hell Demon.

Of course, it also met a miserable end, first being surrounded and attacked by the Diabolical Hell Demon and Sturdy Hell Demon, then being directly obliterated by Xing Chen’s Starlight Annihilation.

Now, Lu Fan had three Demon Armies and three Nine Hell Demons under his command.

After clearing three Dark Castles, Lu Fan had a general understanding of the Demon Armies.

All Demon Armies had six waves of Monsters, with the first two waves being scouts – mere appetisers.

The latter four waves each had one Boss guarding the gate plus several hundred stronger Monsters. The Monster numbers were not high, but they were all powerful.

Especially the final wave Boss, which was a Level 85 Diamond Grade Boss (Terror Grade Boss). It was second only to the Nine Hell Demons in terms of strength.

This one Boss was enough to kill any of the Twenty-Three Country Alliance representatives.

Now, Lu Fan had three such Bosses under his command.

Current Lu Fan could definitely be considered an emperor of the Secret Realm. Not only did he have five Pet Dragons, but he also had three Nine Hell Demons, three Level 85 Diamond Grade Bosses, and nine slightly weaker Mini Bosses.

With such a force, Lu Fan could lead them on an unstoppable march through the National Trial Secret Realm, killing any God or Buddha they encountered!
