Chapter 636: 260

Sword Bearers Branch.

Training building second floor, within the combat strength testing room.

Rein looked at the deep sword mark on the metal block before him and glanced at the number 32 displayed on the side, his face showing contemplation.

32 degrees, huh?

Indeed, the secret technique derived from his Giant Bear Sword Technique was actually a rare soundwave-based secret technique.

If he didn’t use the Intermediate Secret Technique ‘Roaring Battle Cry’ but directly used a level 13 Giant Bear Sword Technique, an attack power of 32 degrees wasn’t actually too shabby.

However…

It wasn’t that there was no way to add an enhancement.

Rein began to recite the spell for another metal-based witchcraft ‘Sharpness Technique.’

Soon, the surface of the Dual-Handed Greatsword transformed from Hardened Essence Gold began to shine with a mercury-like glow.

Immediately after, Rein’s muscles expanded, and he swung the greatsword again, delivering a powerful Smooth Cleaving Slash towards the testing metal block!

“Tss!!!”

This time’s power was clearly stronger than the last; the tip of the Dual-Handed Greatsword completely submerged into the previously smooth metal surface.

And on the intelligent slate beside it, two large characters were instantaneously refreshed: 35!

This time, Rein’s face showed a smile.

It seems that with sharp weapons, augmenting them with the Sharpness Technique can enhance attack power.

Although the increase in magnitude wasn’t great, merely about ten percent, for a Great Knight’s level of attack power, every single degree represented sweat and time invested in extraordinary combat skills.

The onlookers let out a ‘whoosh,’ a burst of astonishment!

Obviously, everyone was surprised at the power of Rein’s last strike.

“This… This matches that blow from Bull Scolda just now, doesn’t it?”

“Have any of you seen this young man before? I’ve been at the Sword Holder Mingster Branch for three years, and I’ve never seen him. Could he be from another branch in a different province?”

“It’s unlikely. With attacks breaking out in various parts of the empire, how could they afford to send such an expert over from another province?”

“Right, even if they haven’t been attacked, they’re definitely preparing. It would be quite something if they could send a few people over just to show up.”

“Could it be that he’s someone sent from the headquarters in the Imperial City?”

While the crowd was astounded by the power of Rein’s strike, they all began speculating about his origins…

“Damn! That’s fierce!” a youth couldn’t help but swear in amazement.

“Captain, his attack power is catching up to yours!”

“But, he did use the metal-based Sharpness Technique for that boost, right?”

Scolda nodded solemnly.

He believed he had understood why the mission hall’s officer had taken such interest in Rein.

Indeed, he appeared so young, yet his strength was already so formidable; most crucially, he possessed a rare metal-based wizard qualification, combined with a strong proficiency in extraordinary combat skills, making his means of attack extremely diverse.

As a young man carrying out missions, he was a truly versatile hand, capable of executing various kinds of tasks, much more suitable than the average Sword Bearer.

The only downside was, he probably had not yet mastered a secret technique for the Dual-Handed Greatsword.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have used the Sharpness Technique to enhance his combat strength.

You should know, in close combat among Great Knights, situations change in the blink of an eye, how could there possibly be a chance to calmly perform witchcraft against an opponent.

“I think he should go up for the testing.”

“Using witchcraft to augment, this has already strayed from the pure knightly path we pursue,” the youth said, sounding somewhat sour.

The young man appeared quite a bit younger than him, yet his attack power was already streets ahead…

…

However, Rein wasn’t paying attention to the others’ words; instead, he continued to use the Metal Morphing Spell and took twenty seconds to transform his Dual-Handed Greatsword into a Two-Handed Warhammer.

Just when the onlookers thought Rein had finished testing, they saw that Rein’s weapon had turned into a Two-Handed Warhammer.

Then, the youth beside Scolda suddenly remembered something!

Pointing at Rein in shock, he said: “Captain, could he be that…”

But he didn’t finish his sentence!

“Bang!!!”

A loud boom almost shook the entire testing room!

On the two-meter diameter metal block’s surface, at this moment, appeared a hole roughly a meter in diameter and around seventy to eighty centimeters deep. Moreover, it had pushed the metal block, which weighed several tons, nearly to the spring’s limit on the slide rail!

And beside the intelligent slate, a damage value as high as 47 degrees was displayed!

Suddenly, the entire place fell silent!

The only sound was the light hissing of the spring device installed behind the metal block rebounding.

And the metal block, weighing several tons, was now oscillating back and forth on the slide rail with a decreasing amplitude, slowly settling to a stop.

Everyone present, Scolda included, looked as if they had seen a ghost, with eyes wide and mouths agape!

“He is the Meister Siege Hammer!” Several seconds later, the youth managed to finish the sentence he had begun previously.

But at this point, he didn’t need to say it; many in the crowd had already made the connection.

The news of a newcomer knocking down an Obsidian Giant with one hammer strike during an assessment had spread far and wide within the Mingster Sword Bearers Branch, so nearly all Sword Bearers knew about it.

It’s just that previously, Rein had used either a dagger, an axe, or a Dual-Handed Greatsword, which is why those present hadn’t associated the young man before them with “Meister Siege Hammer.”

But now, damn it, he was even fiercer than the Siege Hammer!

“Damn! There’s such a monster among the new recruits?”

“Dammit, 47 degrees?”

“The testing device must be broken!”

“Yeah, that’s damn well beyond the upper limit of a Great Knight’s attack power…”
