Chapter 617: Chapter 255: Airship (Two in One Mega Chapter)_2

“It can even change the shape of the metal to attack directly.”

“Combined with the secret techniques I’ve mastered….”

…..

“Human, you will pay for your actions!” came the thunderous, angry voice of Sea Tide Piercer Ruljatz.

Immediately after, the sound of something crawling rapidly could be heard from behind the trio.

By the sounds of it, it was moving very quickly, not at all leisurely, like Ruljatz had been previously.

This caused Remiel’s heart to race with panic!

Rein glanced at the passageways on either side, only about four meters in diameter, and considering Ruljatz’s height of over three meters, so…

Rein ran while quickly swinging his greatsword at the cave ceiling above them!

“Zzzt! Zzzt!”

As the greatsword rapidly cut through, large chunks of rock and mud began to fall from above the tunnel!

Soon the tunnel was blocked in sections, most openings were just over a meter wide, and in one section, a massive amount of mud had collapsed, nearly completely obstructing the path!

This meant the bulky Sea Tide Piercer Ruljatz simply could not get through.

Even if he wanted to, it would take a significant amount of time to break through the boulders and mud…

Listened to the increasingly angry roars behind them, Rein and his companions managed to catch up with those ahead without any harm, but not without alarm.

Everyone was extremely surprised to see Rein and the other two returning!

Especially Alyosha, her beautiful eyes sparkling as she looked at Rein…

The rest of the journey turned out to be much simpler.

After spending less than a minute taking care of a few waves of patrolling fish-like creatures, they smoothly arrived at the entrance near the beach Rein had previously entered.

“So they are connected after all,” everyone, including Remiel, was quite amazed.

They had all entered from a farther island’s altar and did not expect that the underground of two distant islands was actually interconnected.

Upon seeing the clear blue sky, Remiel quickly fired a blue signal flare into the air.

After some thought, Rein also launched the red signal flare given to him by Viscount Fabien.

…..

The first to notice the signal flares were Vinica and a group of shield-bearing crossbowmen who had been observing the situation near the caves.

“Look, there’s Lord Rein’s red signal flare! He’s come out!” shouted a soldier wielding a single-tube brass telescope, pointing toward the front.

The soldiers immediately exclaimed with excitement!

Upon looking up, Vinica could indeed see a red and a blue signal flare in the sky.

She was overwhelmed with joy at the sight.

Soon, the situation was reported up the chain of command….

Viscount Fabien was just then flying in on a griffin from afar and saw his signal flare shooting up. He was both stunned and overjoyed!

He hadn’t expected that the young man would really be able to carve a bloody path out of the caves.

After all, Fabien had believed that the mission Rein was on was nearly impossible to complete, saying that just returning safely would prove his courage and strength!

The griffin beneath Viscount Fabien cried out loudly!

Around the imperial coastline, one by one, Griffin Knights took flight, quickly forming a squadron of twelve, speeding towards Rein’s location.

Additionally, the bronze cannons of the Imperial forces also began to show their power.

“Boom! Boom! Boom!”

The sudden barrage of cannon fire took the Sea Clan by surprise, throwing them into disarray.

Seizing the opportunity, the Griffin Knight squadron covered Rein, Battista, and others, allowing them to return safely to the Imperial Camp on the beach.

Instantly, they were all greeted like heroes by the Imperial soldiers!

Quiche, the Linti hound, suddenly burst out, barked twice at its owner, and wagged its tail with unbridled joy.

The twin-tailed young girl Vinica wanted to give Rein a big hug, but quickly, she noticed a young girl walking side by side with Rein…

This made her hesitate, and she started to size up the newcomer.

Women are very sensitive to stares, and since Alyosha was a second-level Wizard Apprentice, she quickly realized that someone was looking at her.

The other was also a pretty twin-tailed young girl, young and vibrant like herself…

For no particular reason, she felt that the other girl had a special relationship with Lord Rein.

Soon, this was confirmed during the exchange between Vinica and Rein.

….

The severely injured Battista was the first to be taken away for treatment, and though his injuries were grave, his life was at least saved.

The other rescued individuals were not severely hurt, but still needed some medical examinations.

Before they left, the members of the ‘Earthshaker’ group came up to Rein to express their gratitude.

“Lord Rein, we thank you very much for your assistance this time! Otherwise, we definitely wouldn’t have made it back. The ‘Earthshaker’ Bearclaw Squad extends to you our sincere gratitude,” the Great Knight from the ‘Earthshaker’ Bearclaw Squad said, leading the three-man salute to Rein.

“Members of the Bearclaw Squad, I did what I had to do,” Rein replied with a slight bow and a smile.

As soon as the conversation started, two more members from the ‘Earthshaker’ Raptor Squad came forward to thank him, and finally said:

“Lord Rein, we heard you are a newcomer to the Sword Bearers. Have you considered joining us ‘Earthshakers’?”

“Even though we may not be as strong as your current group overall, the benefits are very similar.”
