Chapter 621: Chapter 256 Exceeding Authority (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

Whether it was the thorny boar liver pie, wetland crocodile thick soup, or the delicious and juicy great horned sheep ribs, they were all rare delicacies of ferocious beast meat, and the cooking techniques were masterful, immediately making Lord Rein’s mouth water.

“Baron Rein, I am very grateful to you for risking danger to rescue Alyosha, please allow me to express my respect.” Javier smiled broadly, raised his glass to Rein, and downed the wine in one gulp.

It was on the ride back with Alyosha in the carriage that Javier learned how much danger Rein had faced to rescue her successfully.

The situations they faced were fraught with peril, and if it weren’t for Rein, even a whole elite team from the empire’s special department might not have been able to complete the rescue mission.

This made Javier feel fortunate for choosing the right person, and on the other hand, he was astonished at the rapid growth of Rein’s strength.

“Your Excellency the Envoy, you flatter me.” Rein also raised his glass in response, drinking it in one go.

“Baron Rein, thank you for rescuing me this time. Your outstanding strength has left a deep impression on me.” Alyosha said with a smile, raising her glass.

“Thank you, Miss Alyosha. By the way, I heard from the Envoy that you are now a senior pharmacist at the Royal Alchemist Association? Such talent is truly admirable.” Rein said with a smile, lavishing praise.

“Thank you, Lord Rein, that’s an overstatement from my father. Compared to your talent on the path of knighthood, Baron Rein, mine is nothing special.”

“By the way, Lord Rein, if you have any needs regarding potion creation, perhaps I can offer some minor assistance,” Alyosha offered proactively, seeming to think of something.

“That would be wonderful! A Great Knight’s cultivation indeed requires quite a number of potions.”

“Moreover, Miss Alyosha, I am actually very interested in potion crafting too. Unfortunately, I’ve never really had any pharmacist friends.”

“Oh? Lord Rein, you’ve studied potion crafting as well?” Alyosha’s beautiful eyes shone brightly, looking at Rein with great surprise.

To be honest, she found it hard to believe.

Because in her eyes, even if someone was extremely talented as a knight, to achieve the level of strength Rein had, they would have to train hard every day and delve into a variety of Extraordinary Battle Techniques; how could there be time and energy to spare for pharmacology?

“Lord Rein, have you crafted any potions recently?” After giving it some thought, Alyosha looked at Rein with inquiring eyes, indirectly trying to probe with her question.

This question left Rein at a loss for words for a moment.

The fact was, he hadn’t personally made many potions.

The Variant Growth Potion was naturally something he couldn’t reveal.

That left only poisons…

But the few poisons from “Maxwell’s Rare Poison Crafting Secret Manuscript” were also not suitable to mention, like the gas-type poison—Lavender Hallucinogenic Agent, which was more suited as a secret skill…

So after some thought, Rein spoke, albeit with reservations:

“Uh… last time, I used a nightcrawler spider’s poison sac and mixed it with a certain ratio of scorpion tail venom, creating an enhanced paralysis poison that is about twenty to thirty percent more effective than the average paralysis poison. The key point is…”

Hmm?

Listening to what Rein had said.

The banquet hall suddenly quieted down, you could hear a pin drop!

Alyosha’s beautiful eyes widened as she stared at Rein as if she had seen a ghost.

She wondered if she was hallucinating.

But Alyosha knew, with such clear formula and crafting details, Lord Rein had to have at least the skills of a junior, no, even a mid-level pharmacist.

Even Javier, who was worldly and knowledgeable, showed a stunned expression.

Was Rein not only a Great Knight but also a rare Poison Master?

The surrounding servants froze in place, their expressions instantly becoming blank….

“Baron Rein, I had no idea… you… not only are you a Great Knight, but also a rare Poison Master?” Alyosha stammered, overwhelmed with surprise.

“Haha, I wouldn’t say Poison Master; it’s just that occasionally, during battle, I need some poison, so I self-studied a bit. This time, I was about to ask you, a certified pharmacist, for advice on how to further advance in poison making…” Rein seized the moment to inquire.

…..

After the dinner, on the way back, Rein wore a smile on his face.

He had received a letter of introduction from Alyosha for the Mingster branch of the Royal Alchemist Association.

The main content of the letter was that Alyosha, as the recommender, acknowledged Rein’s commendable accomplishments in the field of pharmacology, suggesting the Mingster branch take Rein on as a part-time researcher.

Because Rein himself was a baron of the empire and with his identity as a Sword Bearer, it was not too difficult to arrange this matter, especially since the Royal Alchemist Association was also an organization under the empire.

The most difficult part, which required an existing member’s recommendation, was effortlessly played by Alyosha.

….

After returning to the Sword Bearers Branch, night had fallen.

Rein, who had been tired out from the day’s events, naturally fell into a deep sleep rather quickly.

The next morning, as daybreak awoke him.

After a quick wash, he headed straight for the mission hall.

First, he needed to complete the verification process and claim rewards for acting as the security advisor in the trade zone and the rescue of Alyosha.

The necessary communications and evidence of mission completion had already been arranged by Javier.

However, the final reward claim still required Rein’s personal visit to the mission hall.

As for the Rock Team’s rescue mission, that would be a bit more troublesome; even with proof letters, the Sword Bearers Branch would likely still take some time to review and verify…
