Chapter 626: Chapter 257: Rewards and Exchange (Two-in-One Big Chapter)_3

Reine listened, his face thoughtful.

He was aware of Rock Team’s report content.

Remiel had roughly spoken to him about it, and there were more details in the proof letters.

He was now hesitating, should he mention the bronze gate?

After all, he had seen it through a water membrane, and he couldn’t be sure if it was the true scene inside.

However…

He felt he could mention it, and as for its authenticity and importance, he would leave that to the higher-ups to judge.

But at least once the information proved useful, the reward amount could be further increased.

Thinking it over, Reine spoke, “At that time, I also saw some special scenes, but I cannot guarantee their authenticity.”

“Of course, Lord Reine, please go ahead. As for the authenticity of the information, we have dedicated personnel to verify it,” Yumaz said with a smile on his face, even more appreciative of Reine since he had mastered an Advanced Secret Skill.

Reine nodded his head.

That was naturally for the best.

“Deep inside the cave, I saw a nearly transparent layer emitting a faint blue light. Through this membrane, I saw another hall inside,” he continued.

Yumaz nodded.

Such conditions were very normal; most ruins had multiple halls.

“Inside, there was a group of people busy. From the patterns on their robes, it seemed to be the Sea God Sect,” Reine continued.

“Indeed, the Sea God Sect.”

“We’ve also received this news through other channels. Lord Reine’s information further proves this message is accurate,” Yumaz said with a focused expression.

“Lord Reine, if it’s just this information, it’s not sufficient to increase the reward. You know, we already have the related information,” Olena said apologetically, thinking Reine had finished speaking.

“There were also followers of the Sea God Sect around an altar, with braziers at each of its four corners burning green flames, and in the center of the altar, there was a stone multi-armed Naga about seven or eight meters tall.”

“Oh?” Yumaz and Olena looked at each other, their expressions suddenly serious.

This situation had not been mentioned by previous exploration teams.

“Moreover, I personally feel that the altar was meant for a towering bronze metal gate at the end of the hall,” he added.

“A metal gate?” Both of them looked surprised.

“Lord Reine, did you see any patterns on the gate?” Olena quickly asked.

“The patterns were quite complex. What I could recognize seemed to be shells and conches? You know, the distance was quite far, I could only just make them out,” Reine nodded as he spoke.

“Shells and conches?” Yumaz exclaimed, standing up involuntarily.

“I understand now…” Yumaz muttered to himself.

Several minutes later.

Yumaz sat up straight, his face smiling, and said, “Lord Reine, the information you provided this time is extremely valuable.”

“Previously, we always knew that the Sea Clan’s recent attacks were actively backed by the Sea God Sect, but the true purpose of their attack was not very clear.”

“The information you provided might point us towards a very likely purpose!”

“They are trying to unlock an ancient seal from an era long past, a seal of the Monsoon and Ocean Goddess, which we generally refer to as the Sealing Gate.”

“The Sealing Gate?” Reine looked puzzled.

“Yes, there’s more than one Sealing Gate, but they are all legendary, sealed by the true gods. Actually, I really want to know what exactly is inside this Sealing Gate this time.”

“However, it’s not something to look forward to. Because, as usual, most of the time when the Sealing Gate is opened, it causes some undesirable consequences, even triggering certain disasters.”

“Now, let’s talk about the branch’s evaluation of your mission this time.”

“Since you encountered an enemy of the Sea Tide Piercer rank, the mission reward has been increased from three gold medals and four thousand five hundred Merit Points to four gold medals and five thousand five hundred Merit Points,” Yumaz announced.

“With the Sealing Gate information you just provided, the reward is increased again, totaling six gold medals, plus seven thousand Merit Points.”

“Lord Reine, according to the distribution agreement between you and Rock Team, you will receive four gold medals, plus four thousand Merit Points,” Yumaz said with a smile.

Four gold medals?

Reine’s eyebrows raised, his heart overjoyed!

This meant that he no longer needed a loan to pay in full for the exchange of the vaporization agent, the first-level defensive fire witchcraft, and the Metal Morphing Spell with medals and Merit Points!

He hadn’t expected that the news about that mysterious metal gate would be so important.

“Of course not, thank you, Lord Yumaz,” Reine bowed slightly, expressing his gratitude.

“Lord Reine, your authority has also been elevated to the gold level,” Olena said with a smile, gesturing with her hand.

A female employee quickly walked over holding a tray, and on the tray, there was a child’s fist-sized golden, shining round insignia.

Reine was slightly taken aback.

After all, the silver level insignia in his hand hadn’t even warmed up, and now it had changed to a gold level insignia.

The speed was indeed a bit too fast…

Reine took the gold insignia from the tray and handed the silver insignia back to the female employee.

The heavy gold insignia, with its even more lifelike patterns, of course, the gold itself was not important, what mattered was the honor and authority this insignia represented.
