Chapter 2947: Chapter 2948: Nightmare Illusion Cottage

After returning to the snowy field from the underground tunnel, Laplace looked at Angel’s bewildered face, a smile flashing in her eyes, but she quickly regained her calm expression.

Laplace didn’t inquire about their experiences in the tunnel but began teaching Angel how to leave a breath mark here and the method to enter and exit Rabbit Mountain.

Now that the Rabbit Girl has allowed Angel to use Rabbit Mountain as a transit station, Angel’s breath mark won’t be interfered with, and he easily left his mark on the surface of Rabbit Mountain.

A white vortex appeared where the breath mark was, like a white hole.

”Can you reach the Reality Realm by passing through this vortex?” Angel could vaguely sense that this white hole seemed to have some connection with him. It felt like a mental bond, and as long as he thought about it, he could vaguely sense its location. Moreover, the closer the distance, the stronger its presence.

As Angel asked, he curiously came to the vortex’s side, feeling the energy changes around.

But strangely, although a white vortex appeared here, there was no sense of energy fluctuation, and even the stability of the space was not affected at all.

Could this be the advantage of Rabbit Mountain as a transit station?

Just as Angel curiously tried to probe into the vortex to see the internal situation, Laplace calmly said, ”You can’t.”

Angel was stunned for a moment, turned to Laplace with a puzzled look: ”...Can’t?”

Laplace: ”To be precise, not yet. You’ve only left your breath at Rabbit Mountain, but you haven’t constructed a coordinate linking Rabbit Mountain in the Wizards’ Realm.”

In other words, to get from here to the Wizards’ Realm, you at least need to construct a similar coordinate outside as well.

Angel: ”Then how do I construct a coordinate connecting to Rabbit Mountain outside?”

Laplace: ”You need a mirror, a mirror that can withstand the passage connected to Rabbit Mountain.”

After a pause, Laplace said: ”The mirror Gogus brought from Dudubi can serve as an intermediary.”

Angel recalled the mirror Dudubi gave and fell silent for a moment. After a while, he lightly shook his head: ”There’s no rush for that mirror. I’ll see if I can find another mirror as a replacement.”

Laplace: ”Why?”

Angel sighed softly: ”When confused, any decision looks justified, but not now.”

Does this mean you’re not confused now? Is this related to the mirror? Laplace didn’t understand Angel’s intention, but she didn’t choose to delve deeply, saying, ”Changing to another mirror is also fine, as long as the solidity of the mirror space can withstand connecting to Rabbit Mountain, it will be fine. Such mirrors are not rare.”

The entity of the mirror is in the Wizards’ Realm, but the virtual entity of the mirror, that is the mirror space, belongs to the Mirror Domain. Only objects with properties of both worlds can act as an intermediary.

A mirror is not the only choice, but it is the optimal one. Whether in the Wizards’ Realm or the Mirror Domain, such mirrors are actually not few.

”How to determine if a mirror can withstand connecting to Rabbit Mountain?” Angel asked curiously.

Laplace: ”This question is difficult to explain in a sentence or two. However, if you’re not pursuing the ’judgment’ process and just need the result, that’s easy.”

Angel thought for a moment, nodding: ”I want the result first.”

Regarding how to determine and why this is the determination, Angel seeks this; it is the wizard’s instinct to pursue knowledge.

But Angel also knows that nothing is achieved overnight, including the quest for truth.

Laplace: ”The answer is not certain, but I can first tell you the two easiest types you might find. First, a mirror that has witnessed history. Second, a mirror that has carried vast amounts of energy.”

At first listen, these two types of mirrors seem formidable. But actually, Laplace just used familiar language to describe them, essentially making simple terms complex.

To put it simply, they are two kinds of mirrors: either old objects or Alchemy tools.

Old objects, that is, antique mirrors, because they have withstood the test of time, meaning ”witnessed history.”

As for Alchemy tools, specifically those with mirrors. Any Alchemy tool must have carried energy, so an Alchemy tool can also be an option.

Angel thought carefully, these two indeed are relatively simple mirrors to find.

The cheapest and best option is undoubtedly antique mirrors; these are ordinary items, and their price, no matter how high, will not exceed that of Extraordinary Items. But antique mirrors also have a disadvantage, they are more prone to breakage, making them hard to preserve.

Therefore, Angel felt choosing an Alchemy tool with a mirror surface was more appropriate.

Angel actually has an Alchemy tool with a mirror surface, which is the Mirror Box of Flowing Light gifted by Adanis.

However, the Mirror Box of Flowing Light now contains Olao’s body, and since Olao has not yet awakened, he didn’t feel proper to use it directly.

So after pondering for a while, he decided to refine an Alchemy mirror surface.

”Are you planning to refine a mirror surface now?” Laplace said plainly after listening to Angel’s plan.

Angel nodded. Alchemy is easy for him.

But Laplace shook her head: ”Refine it after you get out.”

”Rabbit Mountain is a special mirrored space with unique rules here. Whatever you do here, if the owner wishes, will be recorded, including your Alchemy.”

”I suppose you don’t want your Alchemy process to be recorded.”

Angel wanted to say, ”I don’t mind,” but seeing Laplace’s solemn expression, he nodded instead.

The connection between him and Laplace is still not very deep. However, both he and Laplace are cautiously trying to deepen this connection.

This is a process from unfamiliarity to familiarity.

Until they are completely familiar, it’s best to be more reserved with each other.

In Jon’s words, it means ”don’t speak deeply when connections are shallow.” Of course, this is just the situation now; they already have the Crystal Origin of Dreams as a bond, and in future exchanges, the restraint on this aspect can gradually be let go.

Seeing Angel nod, Laplace didn’t elaborate, gently beckoning, causing an ice block the size of a palm to fall from the ice layer on the mountain wall. Laplace infused his breath into the ice block and casually threw it to Angel.

”After you’ve refined the mirror outside, place it on the mirror. I can sense your location and construct a path to Rabbit Mountain for you.”

”Understood.” Angel solemnly accepted the ice block.

...

Now that what needed to be done was done, the mirror refining would wait until leaving. With nothing pressing for the moment, Laplace asked about the ”soul” Angel mentioned earlier.

Angel didn’t answer immediately but snapped his fingers, constructing a standalone villa in the snowy field.

This was a Nightmare Illusion small house Angel improved upon, mimicking the Magic Power wooden house.

Although he could also create a Magic Power wooden cabin, he used Nightmare Illusion to materialize objects more often, as this was Sanders’ requirement for him.

If Illusion Technique can be used as a substitute, then try to use Illusion Technique. This is also a form of practice.

”Let’s go inside and talk.” Angel pushed open the door of the villa and walked in.

The interior of the villa was fully furnished, with fire, lighting, and even food. However, now these arrangements all presented a unified style.

—Rabbit Hole fairy tale style.

Everywhere were bunny decorations; the lamp overhead was made of rabbit-shaped Colored Glaze, the tableware on the dining table was rabbit-themed, including the piano by the window... no, the piano was still a piano, only it was played by a tuxedo-wearing rabbit doll.

Laplace showed no expression, but the Rabbit Girl was full of surprise at everything here, her eyes gleaming.

For her, this place was simply like a dream come true.

Amidst the melodious music, the Rabbit Girl spun around, looking left and right in the house, feeling at this moment as if her pupils, her exhaled breath, and even her Dream Bubble were shaped like rabbits.

The Rabbit Girl excitedly walked around the house and eventually came near the piano-playing rabbit doll.

With eyes brimming with excitement, she looked at Angel: ”Can I, can I sit here?”

Angel nodded: ”Of course you can.”

When Angel created this small house, he modified the piano bench that the rabbit doll was seated on into a double bench with a backrest, specifically for this purpose.

The Rabbit Girl happily sat next to the rabbit doll, inching closer and closer, appearing as if she’s obtained a wonderful toy, barely able to believe it, with a timid look of a child.

The Rabbit Girl was indeed considered a child; she feared all this was just a dream, hence showed some hesitation towards the rabbit doll beside her, worried that they might shatter like a mirror in the next second.

While the Rabbit Girl was ”befriending” the rabbit doll, Angel brought Laplace to the adjacent living room.

Though called a living room, it wasn’t very formal, not even having a tall table.

A plush carpet, warm fireplace, a comfy sofa, and a low side table beside the sofa.

The side table originally had food on it, but Angel replaced the food with some books.

After all, the food was created with illusion, although it could stimulate the taste buds, it wasn’t real. In front of someone like Laplace, it would come off as a bit showy.

As for the books, even if it’s apparent they’re fake, as long as the content is real, it’s fine.

However, after Laplace sat down, she didn’t pick up a book to read, but turned her head to look at Angel: ”You are quite clever, completely captivated Little Laplace.”

Angel chuckled: ”As long as Little Laplace is happy.”

Laplace said no more and directly went to the main topic: ”You specially created this small house, just to summon that soul?”

Angel: ”No, the soul is a small matter, I mostly want to chat with Lady Laplace.”

As for the content of the chat, undoubtedly, it was about the authority choice concerning the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

For such a serious matter, which might involve the future development of the Crystal Origin of Dreams, Angel felt discussing it in the desolate snowfield outside lacked ceremonial flair.

Hence, he created such a small house.

The content is important, but the atmosphere and ceremony should not be lacking.

Laplace roughly understood Angel’s intention and said lightly: ”Talk now?”

Angel: ”In a moment, I still want to solve the riddle of that mirror first.”

Upon saying this, Angel took out two items from his bracelet, one was the mirror Dudubi had Gel bring to Angel, the other was a flower emitting a strange aura.

Laplace had seen the mirror before, so her gaze first fell on the flower bud with the peculiar aura.

”Is this the Rest Flower?” Laplace asked softly.

Angel nodded: ”Yes, inside it is the soul I mentioned earlier. However, he is still asleep right now...”

The Rest Flower is similar to the Dead’s Church Angel previously refined, which can prevent souls from dissipating and provide souls with rest.

In addition, the Rest Flower has a special ability to slowly restore the injuries on a soul while it sleeps.

And within this Rest Flower lies the Soul of Wizard—Reeves, which Angel brought out from Duling Garden.

”Reeves...” Laplace whispered the name, her mind blank, as she knew nothing about Reeves.

”Who is he? Does he have any association with that Dudubi?” Laplace asked curiously.

Angel: ”There should be some association; once he awakens, we can ask him and find out.”

While speaking, Angel broke the light membrane surrounding the Rest Flower and extended his finger to gently touch the flower bud.

Reeves was still asleep inside the flower bud, but once the outer light membrane vanished, he would gradually begin to awaken.

This usually doesn’t take too long; given Reeves’s soul strength, it might take about a quarter hour to fully awaken.

Angel: ”Reeves still needs a little time to wake up.”

After pausing for a moment, Angel looked at Laplace: ”While waiting for Reeves to awaken, there is actually a question I would like to ask Lady Laplace.”

Laplace casually replied: ”You don’t need to constantly add the ’Lady’ suffix; it sounds awkward.”

Angel smiled without saying anything, instead pointing to the white vortex outside the window: ”This vortex has not yet connected with the Wizards’ Realm. If I enter the vortex now, where will I go?”

Laplace gave Angel a rather perplexed look, not quite understanding why Angel asked this question.

Angel: ”Pure curiosity.”

Ever since Angel gained extensive knowledge about space from the Dalmatian, he has been very interested in all spatial-related matters.

He could roughly understand the principle of the vortex connecting to the Wizards’ Realm once a two-way channel is established.

But if it were a one-way channel, where would this vortex lead?

Laplace pondered for a moment: ”I haven’t thought about this question; however, based on my experience, it might lead to the space between the Mirror Domain and the Void.”
