Chapter 2914: Chapter 2915: The Fan Family’s Glory

”So Little Laplace had such a situation over there...” Luigi muttered under his breath: ”Sunshine Circus? How dare they turn the adorable Little Laplace into a rabbit, this doesn’t sound sunny at all.”

”You don’t need to worry about her situation,” Laplace frowned and said.

However, Luigi seemed as if he hadn’t heard Laplace’s voice and continued to mumble to himself: ”Come to think of it, this seems like a good theme. It’s a circus named Sunshine, but it’s full of filth and darkness inside. The Jokers perform diligently, their comical movements extremely ridiculous. The so-called diviner brings beautiful divinations but harbors a crazed inner demon. The beast tamer, smiling on the surface, has a penchant for turning people into little animals, she abuses and plays with all the little animals recklessly, even puts them on dangerous tracks for performances... Right, such a circus full of conspiracy and malice surely can’t be without those fatheaded, greasy spectators like swine...”

The more Luigi spoke, the more excited he became, as if he had already concocted a foul and sinister circus full of evil and the stench of money in his mind.

Angel meanwhile found it increasingly strange, is he... talking about Sunshine Circus? Where did he get this information?

”Don’t pay attention to his nonsense, he’s just projecting what he thinks onto Sunshine Circus,” Laplace said flatly, ”He wants to write a poem revealing darkness, he’s wanted to for a long time.”

”According to him, his greatest wish is to write a poem that exposes the abuse of power by miracle creatures over their subjects.”

Angel: ”... Miracle creatures? Power abuse? Manipulating subjects? That’s underestimating miracle creatures’ scale...”

Laplace calmly stated: ”Scale? What scale does he have? He’s just showing off. It’s like how some human authors have to write exposés on politicians or ridicule royal darkness to mix into the literary circle.”

”However, Mirror World doesn’t offer such conditions, he can’t write similar poems, this time is purely his imagination, don’t pay him any mind, once he stops his madness, he’ll naturally come to his senses.”

Laplace understood Luigi too well, after ranting about the audience, he then desperately fabricated connections, trying to link the circus to the authorities behind it, but ultimately could not.

This is typical of inexperience, even fantasies have their limits.

After Luigi sighed a few times, he finally returned to normal: ”Alright, let’s return to the topic, continue discussing what happened earlier, hmm... where were we?”

Laplace: ”Box choice between three, Mirror Domain, Dream Realm, and Immortal Realm, choose one. Use your intuition to give me an answer.”

Luigi had a suddenly enlightened expression, he pondered for a moment, and in a lyrical tone, sang his answer: ”Listen, the death knell of Beautiful Dream Hill is ringing, it’s the warning sound released in dreams. Listen, the prelude to dreams is beautiful, but Immortal Realm requires immortal endurance.”

Laplace: ”Your intuition is to choose... Immortal Realm?”

Luigi opened his mouth, about to continue his lyrical repeat, but was directly interrupted by the impatient Laplace: ”Just say it, don’t waste time.”

Feeling aggrieved, Luigi pouted, but soon adjusted his mindset, saying: ”Initially, my intuition was to choose Dream Realm. After all, Mirror Domain is too familiar, it’s better to choose something unknown.”

”But later, after hearing you talk about Little Laplace, I felt Immortal Realm might be better.”

”First Dream Realm, then transform into Immortal Realm...” Angel asked curiously: ”Why such a transformation?”

Luigi shrugged: ”Oh my friend, have you misunderstood something. Since it’s intuition, does it need a reason?”

Angel was speechless, um, it seems Luigi is right. Intuition indeed does not require a reason.

Luigi exaggeratedly clutched his chest, making a contemplative gesture: ”I did have some thoughts, but my ideas aren’t referenceable. I thought, since Little Laplace is trapped in Immortal Realm, choose Immortal Realm. Sound illogical? Haha, absolutely illogical, I just said it casually.”

Thinking he made a funny joke, Luigi laughed loudly for a while, even giving others a look to follow suit. But, nobody paid him any mind.

Luigi could only shut his mouth awkwardly.

Glaipnir at this point looked at Laplace: ”Have you made a decision now?”

Laplace silently pondered for a moment and finally nodded: ”Choose... Immortal Realm.”

She still decided to trust Luigi’s intuition.

Since the decision was already made, Laplace hesitated no longer, she closed her eyes, beginning the choice of reward.

When Laplace confirmed choosing the Immortal Realm box, the other two representing Mirror Domain and Dream Realm began to fade, ultimately only the Immortal Realm box occupied Laplace’s mind.

Lent by a thought, the previously sealed Immortal Realm box slowly opened a slit.

As light flared, a stream of information poured into Laplace’s mind.

After a good while, Laplace opened her eyes.

The others curiously set their gazes upon her, after all, she was the only ’player’ in this series of special dreamlands to completely clear them with 100% exploration experience, her reward should be better than Glaipnir’s, right?

Laplace’s brows furrowed slightly, she looked at Luigi not far away, wanting to say something but ultimately held back.

”Judging by your expression, the box’s reward isn’t that good?” Angel also noticed Laplace’s furrowed brows, tentatively asked.

Laplace’s voice was low: ”I don’t know how to evaluate, the reward I received is a kind of... ethereal thing.”

”An ethereal thing? What do you mean?” Luigi also leaned in, puzzled.

Laplace glared at Luigi before reluctantly saying: ”It’s an honorary-sounding thing.”

She listed out the information she received:

”Enter into benefit settlement list based on exploration extent.”

”Choose reward as: Immortal Realm box.”

”100% exploration reward: Fan Family’s Glory.”

The reward was the so-called ”Fan Family’s Glory”, initially Laplace thought it was similar to ”Bella’s Whip”, a kind of Enchanted Land Tool.

But after careful exploration found that this so-called ”Fan Family’s Glory” was not tangible but rather like a title or name.

”Fan Family’s Glory: a noble air.”

Yes, that’s the explanation.

The reward is a hollow name, then the effect is gaining a... noble air?

Is this a joke?

Does such a reward really have meaning?

And this reward was so bizarre and useless, so she couldn’t help wanting to vent to Luigi.

Indeed, intuition is not dependable at all!

While Laplace glared angrily at Luigi, Angel whispered: ”This might be a title system, how about try donning this title, maybe it has miraculous effects.”

If someone else had said this, Laplace wouldn’t deign to answer, but since Angel said it, Laplace gave him face, responding: ”There’s no trying on or not, when I drew it, it was like when I got ’Helen’s Imaginative Constitution’, directly integrated into my body.”

Pausing, Laplace looked at Angel: ”Meaning, I’m already activating this ’Fan Family’s Glory’, do you see changes now or any miraculous effects?”

Angel: ”...”

Angel truly fell silent this time, he thought it might alter one’s demeanor, but apparently not. It just offers an ethereal statement...

It seems special dreamland rewards have both tangible and intangible ones, plus the occasional: thanks for coming, please come again.

Laplace closed her eyes and pondered a while, eventually shaking her head: ”Never mind, the reward isn’t important. I’ll rescue Laplace first, other matters can wait.”

Laplace had resigned herself, like Angel had often said before, even disregarding the reward, treating this journey purely as a puzzle game could also be enjoyable.

No longer mentioning rewards, Laplace prepared to rescue the Rabbit Girl first.

Luigi, thick-skinned as ever, decided to tag along this time. As he claimed, he wanted to comfort the Rabbit Girl’s wounded heart with his poetic praises once she emerged.

In truth, everyone could see the excitement in his eyes, his eagerness to explore almost palpable.

The Rabbit Girl wasn’t far from their location, just separated by the Thorny Forest, making it feel a bit distant.

In fact, as long as they found the safe zone, it was just a few thousand meters to walk through to reach it.

So, this time no one went offline, and they spent a few minutes walking to the place where the Rabbit Girl was located.

As they got closer, the roars of the Magic Monsters grew louder, indicating that even though the Rabbit Girl had disappeared, those creatures were still gathering nearby.

With these Magic Monsters, Laplace was determined to kill each one she saw as if repaying a debt for the Rabbit Girl.

They fought all the way to where the Rabbit Girl had disappeared.

After thoroughly clearing out the surrounding Magic Monsters, Laplace instructed Glaipnir, ”If more creatures come, just handle them first. I’m going to check the Sunshine Circus...”

Glaipnir nodded. With her Astrological Disk of two transformations, dealing with the Magical Creatures was relatively simple.

Having made the arrangements, Laplace came to a clearing.

Originally, there were some Magical Creature carcasses on the clearing, but they had since been cleared to the side. Now, the clearing held nothing but a particularly conspicuous... rabbit ear headband.

It lay on the ground, looking like an ordinary headband, but everyone knew this headband was the culprit that trapped the Rabbit Girl.

Just as Laplace was about to touch the headband and advance the Rabbit Girl’s progress, Angel suddenly said, ”By the way, I think I overlooked something.”

Laplace paused and turned to look at Angel.

Angel continued, ”If I recall correctly, this rabbit ear headband fell from the sky, right? It wasn’t a Crystal Creation from Little Laplace killing a Magical Creature.”

Angel followed Luigi’s lead, adding ”Little” before the Rabbit Girl’s name to distinguish her from Laplace.

Laplace nodded, ”That’s right, that’s what she said.”

Angel: ”So this means that the Crystal Creation was specifically dropped in front of her?”

Previously, Angel had pondered how those endless Crystal Creations eventually vanished. Although Angel knew they resided in the ”Immortal Realm,” they couldn’t stay there forever and must have some activation method, right?

Now it seems that the Rabbit Girl had encountered a trigger-type Special Dreamland?

But how was it triggered?

Could triggering this Special Dreamland require some conditions to be met?

Angel voiced his speculations, and Laplace and Glaipnir fell silent. They also didn’t understand the operational rules of the Wonderland of Dreams.

Luigi, however, offered a rather unreliable-sounding suggestion, ”Could it be because Little Laplace likes rabbits, so a rabbit ear headband dropped down?”

Because one likes it, it appears.

This seemed overly self-centered.

Laplace and Glaipnir didn’t believe it and considered Luigi’s suggestion as nonsense.

Angel, on the other hand, seriously pondered the possibility Luigi mentioned.

Actually, it might not necessarily be wrong...

There were so many Crystal Creations in the Immortal Realm that their trigger methods must be diverse; there might indeed be such ”tailored” activation methods.

The Rabbit Girl lacked a headband, so a rabbit headband fell from the sky—could this be a mystical encounter with a headband?

So, is this considered a trigger form of a quest?

While Angel was contemplating, Laplace had already reached the rabbit ear headband and picked it up. The headband showed no abnormalities throughout the process.

According to the description of the Temporal Body, abnormalities appeared only after she put on the headband. Although Laplace thought the image of wearing the rabbit ear headband looked a bit odd, she still followed the Temporal Body’s instruction and put it on.

At the moment the headband was worn, the surrounding environment underwent a noticeable change.

It was as if an oil painting suddenly faded, its colors swiftly draining away, but the phenomenon didn’t last long before new colors filled the surroundings.

With the renewal of colors, Laplace transitioned from the crystal wasteland outside to a novel environment.

The surroundings were dark, with nothing visible.

Just as Laplace was wondering if she made a wrong entrance, a theatrical spotlight suddenly descended from above, aimed a few hundred meters away.

The person highlighted in the spotlight wore a red suit, had a red round ball on his nose, and donned a shoddy Joker costume... the Joker host.

Indeed, the host.

He held a strange device that amplified his voice and shouted into the darkness, ”Loyal audience of the Sunshine Circus, tonight marks another sleepless night! Let’s give a warm welcome to our new challenger! Oh, what a surprise, it’s a noble challenger, which calls for even more enthusiastic applause!”

The Joker host then turned and looked in Laplace’s direction.

As Laplace was puzzled, another beam of light descended, perfectly enveloping her location.

Laplace remained silent, simply scrutinizing her surroundings while silently attempting to manipulate the Transmutation... but it felt as if the Transmutation had vanished entirely, not responding at all.

”It seems our new challenger isn’t fond of speaking! But that’s alright, it won’t affect the excitement of this course. My dear audience, cheer and let our newcomer feel just how thrilled you are!”

As the Joker host finished speaking, Laplace heard a series of cheers erupting from the darkness, albeit somewhat sparse, not quite as exciting as the host proclaimed.

”I’m sure the challenger has received your sentiments and will definitely bring us an extraordinary performance!”

”Challenger, don’t you agree?”

Laplace remained silent.

The darkness was filled with sounds of booing.

The Joker host turned around, feigning nonchalance, ”Whether or not you felt it, I felt the challenger’s ambition!”

”Challenger, please state your code name!”

Laplace remained silent, but this time, the Joker host didn’t cover for her and instead smiled kindly, ”This code name is crucial for your ranking in the course, oh, and the code name can’t be Black Rabbit, as that’s already taken.”

The Joker host mentioned ”Black Rabbit.” Whether intentional or not, Laplace couldn’t be sure, so she presumed it was intentional.

Since she came here to take Black Rabbit away, naturally, she had to follow the Special Dreamland’s process.

Giving oneself a code name might be part of the ”Sunshine Circus” process.

Thinking of this, Laplace paused in silence for a moment before finally speaking, ”Fairy, my code name is Fairy.”

The Joker host smiled again, ”That won’t do, code names must be animals. Fairy is a legendary creature, not an animal! It’s best if it’s a common animal, like cats, dogs, lions, tigers, or snakes.”

Laplace didn’t argue with the Joker host and instead said calmly, ”... then, Silver Fox.”
