Chapter 2941: Chapter 2942: Half-length Mirror

After walking out of the stone house, Angel looked around at the mirrored light and shadows, suddenly unsure of which way to go.

Where’s the division of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy?

Angel asked Laplace, who pondered for a moment and replied, ”All divisions of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy are decorated with Blue Shell Books. Look for the mirror with the Blue Shell Book mark, and you’ll know.”

That’s what was said, but Angel looked at the crowded mirrored light and shadows of the trading area, feeling like his head was full of reflections and sparkles; finding a special symbol was truly not an easy task.

While Angel was troubled, the red-skinned monocle monster stuttered, ”I-I-I’ll lead the way, sirs, I’ll lead the way, it’ll be fine.”

”Alright, lead the way from the front.”

The red-skinned monocle monster nodded tremblingly and then walked forward step by step.

Watching the shivering red-skinned monocle monster, Angel originally wanted to comfort him with the words ”Don’t be afraid, we won’t eat you,” but after thinking about it, their direct roadblock seemed a bit like bullying, and comforting him now felt hypocritical.

Angel decided to forget it; anyway, he could talk to him carefully later. If the monster had malicious intent, he would punish him slightly; if not, then pretend nothing happened.

Laplace and the Rabbit Girl had no opinions about Angel’s behavior of blocking the red-skinned monocle monster because the monster did indeed seem odd at first, as if he mistook them for wanting something due to Angel being human, which was quite normal.

Under the terrifying thoughts of being restrained while escaping, led and attacked from behind, destroyed after death, etc., they finally arrived before the division of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy.

Seeing the mirror representative of the division of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy, the red-skinned monocle monster relaxed a bit. Inside the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy, fighting is prohibited; anyone who violates the rule will have their aura remembered and repelled by the ruins, labeled as unwelcome. Furthermore, significant destruction could lead to being hunted by the ruins’ strong creatures.

Because of this, the red-skinned monocle monster suggested coming to the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy. At least inside, his safety should be guaranteed.

However, beyond the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy, it’s another story.

The red-skinned monocle monster gritted his teeth; if they really wanted to deal with him, he could simply die stubbornly inside the Ancient Ruins and refuse to leave.

As the red-skinned monocle monster’s expression kept changing, in various mind-racing thoughts, Angel, on the other hand, was observing the mirror of the division of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy.

This is a standing mirror.

This standing mirror is only two meters tall, much smaller than the other mirrors around it, but its shape is extremely delicate, with not only a frame but also a Blue Shell Book crest at the very top.

Laplace: ”That’s right, this is indeed a division of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy; the Ancient Tooth Fairy does have such characteristics.”

”Characteristics?” Angel asked in puzzlement.

Laplace: ”The entrance is delicate and small, allowing the Ancient Tooth Fairy to enter and exit comfortably.”

But for most mirror creatures, the door is too small, and to get in, they must find a way to shrink down. To the Ancient Tooth Fairy, letting you shrink to enter is a mark of respect.

Just one entrance gives the Ancient Tooth Fairy a sense of superiority.

”But the interior of the Ancient Ruins must be large; it’s not to accommodate the size of other races, but purely because the Ancient Tooth Fairy believes the larger it is, the more it showcases their learning and majesty.”

The reason larger spaces demonstrate more learning is because the main body of the Ancient Ruins is very large, filled with various books, scrolls, and knowledge carriers. The division of the Ancient Ruins doesn’t possess these conditions, but the tradition is preserved.

Laplace: ”Of course, personally, I think the Ancient Tooth Fairy built it so large purely because they are so small. What they lack, they worship.”

Laplace’s words were not deliberately hidden, so not only did Angel hear and understand them, but the red-skinned monocle monster also heard them.

Whatever Angel’s mood might be, the red-skinned monocle monster was terrified. As he listened, he kept looking around, thankfully finding no Ancient Tooth Fairy around. Simply hearing such ”outrageous theories” would make the Ancient Tooth Fairy see them as enemies.

The red-skinned monocle monster hoped that the few behind him would be rejected by the Ancient Tooth Fairy, but unfortunately, he was nearby. If the Ancient Tooth Fairy really labeled them as enemies, he would surely be implicated.

As for explaining to the Ancient Tooth Fairy... just look at the antlered skin bag shop owner earlier to understand. Explanations become very pale in front of the powerful.

Angel: ”From what you say, Ancient Tooth Fairies seem to be a group of little creatures with strong self-esteem?”

Laplace nodded: ”You could say that.”

Angel: ”And what about the Tooth Fairies in Tooth Fairy Paradise? Do they have strong self-esteem like the Ancient Tooth Fairy?”

Hearing Angel’s words, the red-skinned monocle monster almost jumped up, turning his head, his eyes conveying anxious emotions as if wanting to say something.

Angel was puzzled, so Laplace kindly spoke the words the red-skinned monocle monster wanted to say: ”You can mention the Tooth Fairies in Tooth Fairy Paradise in front of Ancient Tooth Fairy, but don’t compare them with the Ancient Tooth Fairy. To the Ancient Tooth Fairy, that’s a taboo.”

Angel recalled that Laplace had mentioned before that Ancient Tooth Fairy now call themselves Mirror Sea Scholars, considering themselves different from the Tooth Fairies in Tooth Fairy Paradise... Of course, in the outside world, they are actually seen as the same. However, Ancient Tooth Fairy controls the trading authority, so mirror creatures still give them some respect.

”But, if you say it in front of them, it wouldn’t be a big deal,” Laplace remarked softly.

The reason is straightforward: with Laplace around, Ancient Tooth Fairy absolutely wouldn’t dare to act rashly.

Laplace: ”However, if you want them to open an online store, it’s unlikely to happen.”

Angel nodded with understanding: ”I get it.”

While they were talking, the red-skinned monocle monster timidly spoke: ”A-Are we going to go in?”

He didn’t originally want to speak up, but the few behind him became more unreasonable and scarier the more they spoke; he was genuinely afraid the Ancient Tooth Fairy would suddenly appear. Then he would also end up being implicated, unable to explain even if he wanted to. To prevent them from saying more, the red-skinned monocle monster gathered his courage and took the initiative to ask during the pause in conversation.

Angel didn’t know the red-skinned monocle monster was practically scared to death, seeing him inquire proactively and thinking his heart had calmed down a little, which was a good thing. After all, Angel never intended to do anything to the red-skinned monocle monster; he was more curious to bring him along.

”Alright, let’s go in.”

With Angel’s approval, the red-skinned monocle monster hurriedly stepped into the mirror, afraid of any further changes if he delayed. Angel and the others did not fall behind and followed suit inside.

When Angel entered the division of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy, he indeed experienced a moment of surprise.

As for how big the interior is? Actually, it’s nothing special, a bit smaller than the trading hall of Spirit Tree Courtyard. The length and width estimated to be around two to three hundred meters, height only about tens of meters.

But here, the furnishings, instruments, stands, and bookshelves are exaggeratedly large, as if used by giants. Correspondingly, a group of human form creatures the size of babies flew before these massive objects.

These tiny human form creatures wore various clothes, mostly heavy scholar-like ones, with transparent cicada-like wings on their backs, allowing them to fly freely. Their most distinguishable feature was their heads.

On top of the heads of these little humans, everyone wore a hat, and the hat styles extremely resembled teeth.

Some resembled crowns with human baby teeth, some like wizard hats with wolf teeth, and others like demon horn hats with elephant teeth, of various kinds that made Angel stare in astonishment.

”These little people with teeth on their heads are... Tooth Fairies?”

Laplace nodded: ”Yes. However, you’d better call them Mirror Sea Scholars. Also, the Tooth Fairies in Tooth Fairy Paradise also wear such tooth hats, but their attire is more flowing and lightweight. You can differentiate between Ancient Tooth Fairy and regular Tooth Fairy based on their clothing.”

Angel wanted to ask why the Tooth Fairies wore teeth and about their talents... but after pondering, he thought he might have an opportunity to ask these questions later, so he put them aside for now.

The entry of Angel and the others didn’t cause much reaction from the Ancient Tooth Fairy, not even a glance from them.

Because the mirror creatures in the Ancient Ruins are simply too numerous.

Angel’s previous surprise was indeed related to these bizarre mirror creatures. Previously, only scattered mirror creatures were seen outside, but here, it’s almost like a crowded gathering.

Under such circumstances, the Ancient Tooth Fairy dealing with the mirror creatures before them is trouble enough; how could they pay attention to subsequent arrivals?

Of course, it’s not that nobody noticed them.

Several floating crystals in the air glanced their way.

And these crystals, according to Laplace’s transmitted thoughts, are also part of the ”Crystal Eye Clan,” employed by the Ancient Tooth Fairy to handle security and surveillance at the division, preventing theft of resources and closely monitoring guests for any malicious intentions.

Essentially, they act as a form of surveillance.

”These are just the juniors of the Crystal Eye Clan. Generally, there will be a strong guardian from the Crystal Eye Clan stationed in different branches; they are the true guarding power... Their strength is about the same as your Wizards’ True Knowledge Wizards,” Laplace transmitted.

About the same as a True Knowledge Wizard? That measure isn’t very accurate because, even among Level 1 True Knowledge Wizards, the strength varies depending on the path chosen by the Wizard.

However, if we take the median strength of True Knowledge Wizards, the strong ones of the Crystal Eye Clan are already quite formidable.

Since Angel and the others didn’t move towards areas with materials like shelves and display cabinets but headed to the communication area... or rather the rest area, the ”monitor” from the Crystal Eye Clan glanced at them and didn’t bother further.

The communication area, in essence, is where information exchange or ability and memory exchange occur.

But most mirror creatures coming to the City of Hot Gold are here for cultivation, which makes this communication area rather deserted.

However, it’s just a branch of the City of Hot Gold; the communication area here being desolate is one thing. The headquarters’ communication area, on the other hand, is bustling.

Being deserted is actually good, as at least Angel and Gos can converse without interruption.

Gos is the name of the red-skinned one-eyed monster.

...

”Tell me, why did you fix your gaze on us earlier?” Angel looked at Gos.

With a bitter face, Gos replied, ”I didn’t, I wasn’t, I did nothing.”

Though they had reached the branch of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy, Gos still unnerved, sensing that the three ”humans” before him seemed a bit too audacious... As was evident from their discussion on the Ancient Tooth Fairy outside the ruins’ entrance earlier.

Angel: ”I heard you mention ’humans,’ are you looking for humanity? Or are you searching for food?”

Gos quickly waved his hand: ”Not at all, I only consume crystalline, not other things. Especially humans; I wouldn’t dare eat them.”

Gos really wasn’t pretending to be tense, and Angel used Hyper Perception to sense Gos’s frantic and helpless emotions. This indicated that Gos was truthful, particularly in the latter part regarding humans, where there was more fear.

Although Angel was still unsure why Gos suddenly charged over, it’s pretty much certain now; Gos wasn’t here to trouble humans.

Thus, Angel did not maintain a pressuring stance: ”Why are you so anxious when humans are mentioned?”

Gos swallowed nervously, glanced around briefly before replying softly: ”Because my master is human.”

Angel initially thought that if Gos did not provide an answer, he would simply let him leave.

But Gos’s answer piqued Angel’s interest.

Angel: ”Your master is human? Currently in the City of Hot Gold?”

Gos looked at Angel warily: ”What are you trying to do?”

Angel seemed to understand Gos’s thoughts and smiled: ”If I had issues with humans, do you think I’d appear like this? I am merely curious about your earlier actions.”

”You are free to leave if you don’t wish to talk,” Angel casually pointed to the exit nearby.

He was indeed curious why Gos’s master was human, but if the counterpart was unwilling to share, he wouldn’t force it.

Gos glanced at the exit, then at Angel: ”Can I really leave?”

Angel shrugged: ”Sure, you can.”

Gos’s expression was hesitant; seemingly guessing Angel’s intentions. After a long pause, he finally stood up and resolutely walked toward the exit.

As Gos was about to leave, Angel softly spoke: ”You can go find your master and come seek revenge against us. We will be here for half an hour; if revenge is in order, it’s best to do so within this time frame.”

Gos stumbled a bit but dared not look back and rushed out.

Watching Gos’s disappearing figure, Laplace said mildly: ”Did you just let her go like that?”

Angel shrugged: ”I never intended to do anything to it.”

Laplace paused briefly: ”Then, what do you plan to do now?”

Angel: ”Since we’re here, check if there are items worth purchasing in the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy.”

Laplace: ”You don’t have any crystalline.”

Angel: ”Doesn’t this place support bartering?”

Laplace shook his head: ”The headquarters does, but here doesn’t support it; however, there is a dedicated selling channel here, where you can sell valuable goods to obtain crystalline.”

Angel nodded: ”I see...”

Angel had no plans of exchanging for crystalline; it’s a cultivation resource and currency to mirror creatures, but to Angel, it’s only for currency purposes, with no use outside the Mirror Domain. However, if he encounters something truly appealing, he wouldn’t mind exchanging some crystalline for it.

...

Even though it’s just a branch of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy, the products here on sale are quite extensive.

Angel took a rough look; these products were generally divided into three categories, with cultivation-related resources being the largest share. Given that most visitors to the City of Hot Gold come for its abundant Aggregation Energy, the headquarters of Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy concentrating cultivation resources here is indeed a wise choice.

The second-largest category is defensive resources, primarily reinforcing the dome, with a minority for personal protection. These resources, basically strategic in the City of Hot Gold, are mostly subject to bidding with high prices.

On that note, it’s worth mentioning the purchasing method of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy: ”Bid Price” and ”Direct Purchase.” Popular items, like cultivation and defensive resources, are displayed in display cases with a square mirror above it, connecting a countless number of sub-mirrors within the hall. To bid, one simply needs to input a price in the sub-mirror; it’ll be displayed on the mirror above similarly to semi-open bidding.

Whereas direct purchase items are considered ”slow-sellers.” These ”slow-sellers” aren’t mediocre; some are even rarer than those open for bidding but have a more niche applicability, hence lack buyers. Additionally, the listed-price goods are actually not cheap.

Back to the point, the third-largest category of on-sale products can be classified as ”miscellaneous goods.” This includes skills, memories, physical objects... and so on.

Generally, slow-sellers fall under the third category.

However, this is just the case in the City of Hot Gold. According to Laplace, the most saleable items in the headquarters of Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy are memory and physical objects.

It seems that different environments shape different purchasing intentions.

After a rough browse, Angel’s interest focused on some unique defensive resources, which are applicable to Wizards. But seeing those escalating prices, Angel decided to abandon the idea.

Besides defensive resources, Angel also showed interest in ”memory” and ”physical objects.”

Seeing Angel focus on ”memory,” Laplace promptly suggested, she has had a whole Forest of Memories; if he’s interested, he could visit the Forest of Memories first.

Angel got puzzled for a moment but immediately caught on: Right, he already has the Forest of Memories.

The Forest of Memories is already situated in the Crystal Origin of Dreams; he can explore it anytime, making any further outlook on memories unnecessary here.

As for ”physical objects,” these items can be brought back to reality, making them of notable interest to Angel. Yet, after viewing for quite a while, few of these physical objects caught Angel’s attention; many are boasting elements of transcendent aura, lacking valuable ones.

Nevertheless, among these physical objects, there was indeed something that drew Angel’s attention.

Like, the top of the display rack right in front of him with a half-length mirror.

Yes, another mirror.

This square half-length mirror being placed atop the rack seemingly means it’s not well-regarded. Angel’s interest in it is not for the mirror itself but the familiar patterns he noticed on this mirror.

Just as Angel prepared for further observation, an unfamiliar voice suddenly reached his ears.

”Are you interested in this mirror?”
