Chapter 2942: Chapter 2943: Pink Orb

This was a voice that couldn’t be distinguished as male or female, or rather, a voice that transcended gender.

This voice reminded Angel of the ”Holy Angel” recorded in the holographic tablet. It was said that the voice of a Holy Angel transcended gender, was as beautiful as a celestial melody, and moved people upon hearing it.

Angel turned his head to look.

He looked with the expectation of seeing a ”Holy Angel,” but when he saw the appearance of the speaking creature, his expression instantly froze.

The other party could not be said to have nothing to do with an angel; at least, it had a pair of wings, and angels were rumored to have wings as well.

But apart from the wings, it had nothing else in common with an angel.

The speaking creature was a... sphere wrapped in a gauzy robe.

A giant pink sphere, with pink wings on its back. Its eyes were watery, with no visible nose, but its wide mouth exposed sharp teeth.

This was a creature both cute and bizarre.

At first glance, it didn’t seem particularly powerful.

But Laplace’s transmitted message informed Angel that this pink sphere’s strength should be about the same as her current avatar. Even if it was slightly weaker, it definitely reached the level of a Second Level True Knowledge Wizard.

Angel: ”Are you talking to me?”

As soon as the words fell, Angel suddenly saw the figure hiding behind the pink sphere.

”Gos?”

Yes, the shrinking figure behind the pink sphere was the red-skinned, one-eyed monster—Gos, from before.

”So, did Gos bring you here to get back at us?” Angel frowned and asked.

Previously, when he let Gos leave, he even said, ”You can go find your master to seek revenge on us,” purely out of curiosity about the ”human” master Gos mentioned.

As it turned out, instead of bringing a human, Gos brought a pink sphere.

And this pink sphere was quite powerful... does this mean he failed miserably?

As Angel muttered to himself, the voice akin to a celestial melody from the pink sphere sounded again, ”Revenge? No. I’m merely curious to come and see.”

After a pause, the pink sphere asked again, ”Are you interested in that mirror?”

Angel didn’t understand why the pink sphere was so intent on asking this question, but he thought about it and nodded, ”A bit interested. The patterns on it... are intriguing.”

Pink sphere: ”Those are Magic Patterns.”

Angel silently thought to himself: I know.

The pink sphere continued, ”Those are the Magic Patterns drawn by my partner.”

Angel: Huh???

Pink sphere: ”This mirror is also being sold by my partner.”

Angel remained silent. Could it be that the pink sphere intended for him to buy this mirror? That wouldn’t work.

Angel’s interest in the mirror was purely due to the Magic Patterns he saw on it. But just speaking of the mirror itself, Angel had no interest at all.

According to Laplace’s assessment, there was a Mirror Space behind this mirror, and it seemed relatively stable.

Angel could confirm that the stability of this Mirror Space was likely somewhat related to the Magic Patterns.

If it were a mirror with a very stable space, Angel might have the desire to buy it. Like the lady’s makeup mirror he saw in the stone house before, which was quite good.

But a Mirror Space relying on external support, without having existed for long itself, wasn’t worth it.

He definitely wouldn’t buy it!

As Angel silently thought this, the pink sphere spoke again, ”Are you human? I can’t quite tell, you seem like a human, yet not like a human.”

Angel remained silent.

The pink sphere, as if talkative, continued its monologue, ”My partner is a human.”

Angel had already guessed the pink sphere’s partner was human. After all, techniques like Magic Patterns were generally prevalent among humans, and the style of different factions of Magic Patterns varies. The Magic Patterns on this mirror clearly originated from the Southern Domain’s Academy Faction.

It might even have been drawn by a Magic Rune Mage who graduated from Ashiliya Academy.

So, the fact that the pink sphere’s partner was human wasn’t something that shocked Angel profoundly.

What truly surprised Angel was, what kind of aesthetic would result in partnering with such a creature?

Although Angel had read ”love can transcend all constraints” in books, he still didn’t understand... could it be an attraction to non-human creatures?

The pink sphere didn’t care what Angel was thinking. With a joyous tone, it said, ”Whether you’re human or not, since you’re interested in the mirror made by my partner, you and my partner have a destiny. Are you willing to meet him?”

Angel: ”Him?”

A male, not a female?

The pink sphere didn’t know what Angel was pondering, but nodded in response to his query, ”Yes, go meet my partner.”

Angel realized the pink sphere misunderstood his intent, but he didn’t bother explaining.

The reason Angel was surprised that the pink sphere’s partner was male was because of the sphere’s rather robust manner of speaking, leading Angel to subconsciously think of it as ”male,” thus assuming its partner should be female.

But as it turned out, this pink sphere was the ”wife.”

Angel: ”Did your partner send you here?”

The pink sphere shook its head, ”No, my partner doesn’t know about this... So, do you want to meet him?”

Angel didn’t understand the pink sphere’s logic. Just looking at a mirror meant destiny. And because of destiny, they had to meet?

Furthermore, did Gos bring the pink sphere here not for revenge?

Pink sphere: ”Do you want to go?”

The pink sphere repeated the question for the third time, and Angel didn’t know why it was so persistent. But seeing its expression, he knew he had to give an answer.

Angel glanced at Laplace, wanting to ask her opinion. Instead, Laplace transmitted back, ”Decide for yourself; it can’t defeat me.”

Hearing Laplace say that reassured Angel, meaning if something did happen, Laplace wouldn’t abandon him.

Given that, Angel wasn’t worried and replied, ”Okay.”

He was also curious to meet the human who mingled in the Mirror Domain, and based on the Magic Patterns on the mirror, the person seemed to be a Magic Rune Mage. Communicating with a Magic Rune Mage should be much smoother than with the pink sphere.

Upon hearing Angel’s decision, the pink sphere’s eyes curved into crescents with delight, ”That’s great, shall we go now?”

Angel: So then, I don’t need to buy this mirror?

That was also good, as he never intended to buy the mirror.

The pink sphere seemed impatient to introduce Angel to its lover, quickly flying towards the exit, not even waiting to take Gos with it.

At this time, Gos faced Angel again, its gaze still tinged with fear, and it said tremblingly, ”Master, the master has no ill intentions.”

”Whether there’s any ill intent, we’ll see when we get there.”

Angel responded ambiguously, then gestured for Gos to lead the way.

After leaving the branch of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy, Gos continued forward, and before long, Angel saw the pink sphere from earlier.

It was currently floating above the plaza.

The pink sphere seemed to take itself as a landmark, and Angel and his party quickly arrived at the sphere’s location by just following it.

Beneath the pink sphere, there was a triangular mirror enveloped by a dome.

Seeing Angel and the others approaching, the pink sphere entered the dome and went inside the triangular mirror first.

Angel glanced at Laplace, who nodded subtly, indicating that the mirror and the space behind it seemed fine at the moment.

After verifying everything, Angel and his group stepped into the dome, entering the mirror themselves.

After a brief moment of disorientation, Angel opened his eyes again, and found himself on a lush green pasture. Nearby, he could see green trees and gardens, and the air was exceptionally fresh. Accompanied by a bright source of light, it seemed as if he had instantaneously traveled from the desolate City of Hot Gold to the human world of March.

Angel looked around. It was quite spacious here; every inch was covered with lush green grass, making it look like a pasture.

Including the three-story villa not far away, the stone road by the creek, and the fences, all gave Angel the same feeling.

”That’s where the two masters are temporarily staying.” At this moment, Goss also appeared on the side, pointing to the small villa not far away, and said, ”Please, follow me, my lords.”

Having said that, Goss took the lead and continued his role of leading the way. Since their destination was already within sight, the escort now was purely to reassure everyone, leading by example to show that this place was safe.

Angel: ”Are you a house servant here?”

Goss nodded, a gleam of excitement in his single eye: ”Yes, the master took me in and brought me here.”

Angel could clearly sense that Goss truly approved of his own identity, and the excitement was genuine... It made sense, considering what Laplace had said about Goss being a low-level mirror creature, which meant he was of lower intelligence. Achieving his current accomplishments likely had much to do with his cultivation within the City of Hot Gold.

Goss, by himself, could not have come to the City of Hot Gold, but being brought here as a house servant to enjoy the rich aggregation energy was a huge gain. His excitement was understandable.

Perhaps being back in his own territory, Goss relaxed quite a bit, chatting about some of his experiences while leading the way.

It was much as Laplace had guessed: Goss was born eighty years ago, with his kind living in mirror spaces that are prone to destruction. When they are about to shatter, they transition to other nearby mirror spaces.

If luck is not on their side and a temporary refuge cannot be found in nearby mirror spaces, they can only drift in the dark void.

Shortly after Goss was born, after wandering several mirror spaces, luck was not on his side and he couldn’t find a new refuge, starting an endless drifting.

Fortunately, not long into his drifting, he encountered his master—a human master.

Perhaps seeing him as pitiful, the master took him in. Goss’s name was given by the master.

At the time, Goss had very low intelligence and there weren’t many things he could do; he only knew how to help his master herd.

Yes, herd.

Angel’s earlier speculations were correct, this indeed was a pasture, herding some poultry and livestock brought from the human world, such as chickens and cows. Currently, all these livestock were resting in Goss’s mirror space, which is why they were not seen around the pasture.

Later, the master brought him to the City of Hot Gold. Although he continued to exist as a house servant here, his duties were similar to before, herding and assisting with acquiring some daily necessities. The rest of his time was spent on cultivation and enlightenment.

It could be said that Goss grew by holding onto his master’s leg. Becoming a house servant was not seen as a bad thing for him.

During their conversation, Angel also inquired about the human master, but Goss was quite reticent on this matter.

According to him, he should not speak recklessly about his master.

He said this, yet when discussing his own affairs, Goss would occasionally bring up things about his master in detail, showing just how concerned he still was with his master’s affairs, despite having gained intelligence.

According to Goss, although he had two masters, he respected the human master more. After all, the human master was truly his savior.

This human was very gentle, but seemed to have some minor health issues. However, Goss didn’t elaborate on what these issues were.

In addition, Goss specifically mentioned that his master had no friends in the City of Hot Gold and seldom went out, living quite a lonely life.

Before, upon seeing Angel and his group, Goss took the initiative to approach because he wanted to see if they were humans. If they were human, he hoped to invite them to meet his master. This way, by connecting through their common race, perhaps they could ease his master’s loneliness a bit.

As for Goss’s second master, the pink sphere, Goss dared not speak much about it, truly adhering to the principle of ”not speaking recklessly about the master.”

This revealed that the human living at this pasture was quite easy-going and kind, while the pink sphere was stricter.

After understanding the situation there, they arrived near the small villa.

Goss did not continue forward; according to him, beyond there was the master’s territory, and without the master’s permission, he would not intrude.

However, at this point, having Goss lead them any further was unnecessary.

Because the villa’s door was already open, and the fuzzy silhouette of the pink sphere could be seen inside.

...

Angel and his party entered the villa.

As soon as he walked in, Angel felt a familiar sensation wash over him.

The internal structure of the house was mainly designed to cater to human living needs. This included the size of the rooms, furniture, decor, and so on, which were all more inclined towards human preferences.

Including the pink sphere itself, which appeared large outside, but had now shrunken into a small ball.

It looked a bit like a round Pokemon.

From the decor, it was evident that the pink sphere accommodated its partner greatly... or rather, the pink sphere very much heeded its partner’s words.

Upon entering the room, Angel felt this ”accommodation” even more, because the air was no longer filled with aggregation energy but saturated with a large amount of primordial magic.

This primordial magic was undoubtedly produced by shattered magic stones, and its concentration was equivalent to that of aggregation energy, reflecting the extent to which he shattered magic stones.

To maintain this level of magic power, it probably required the shattering of magic stones every few days. These details epitomized the pink sphere’s indulgence towards its partner.

Upon reaching the living room, they still did not see the human figure, but Angel faintly felt a life force on the second floor. Presumably, the human master Goss mentioned, the partner of the pink sphere, was on the second floor.

Angel did not extend his spiritual power to probe... after all, he had not identified himself as a human, and releasing spirit tentacles would essentially reveal his identity. Moreover, it was not appropriate to probe someone else’s house.

Under the pink sphere’s guidance, everyone sat down.

The pink sphere floated and landed gently on an oval sofa at the side, embedding its body perfectly into a cavity as if specially designed for it.

”Where is the human you mentioned?” As the pink sphere sat, Angel asked.

Pink Sphere: ”My partner is upstairs, but he is currently meditating and it’s not suitable to disturb him. Can you wait a little bit?”

Angel furrowed his brows. Although he understood the desire not to be disturbed during a wizard’s meditation, he wondered why the pink sphere invited them here knowing its partner was meditating.

”We’re here now, so maybe you can tell us the real purpose for inviting us to meet your partner?”

Previously, the pink sphere had invited them three times in a row, indicating it must have a request. Otherwise, there would be no need to specifically meet them, let alone extend such enthusiastic invitations.

Could it be that the pink sphere, like Goss, sought their company to relieve his partner’s loneliness?

If that was the case, Angel wouldn’t mind meeting the partner, but expecting them to keep company long-term was out of the question.

As Angel thought so, the pink sphere hesitated before speaking.

And the first thing it said left Angel astonished.

”Actually, I bought my partner from the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy.”

Angel’s brows instantly knitted: ”Slave trade? Human trafficking?”

The pink sphere quickly shook its head: ”It’s not like that. At the time, I had no idea my partner was in that stone.”

According to the pink sphere, its partner emerged from a stone?

Angel’s expression suddenly turned nuanced. This situation of a living person emerging from a stone felt eerily familiar.

”What’s wrong?” Laplace, detecting Angel’s expression, asked in confusion.

Angel coughed: ”Ah, nothing. I just didn’t expect there to be a living person inside a stone.”

The pink sphere nodded vigorously: ”I didn’t expect it either.”

After speaking, the pink sphere showed a slightly shy smile: ”But maybe this is destiny. True lovers, no matter where they’re born, even if separated by time and space, will eventually meet.”

Angel: ”...Stick to the point.”

Pink Sphere: ”The main point is, my partner emerged from the stone. But I know he definitely isn’t from the stone; humans aren’t supposed to be born from stones, right?”

Angel: ”...Correct.” Unless it involves certain forbidden biological alchemy producing ’anomaly’ humans, most humans are born viviparously.

Come to think of it, even if it were humans born from forbidden biological alchemy, they probably wouldn’t emerge from stones either.

Angel paused: ”And then?”

The pink sphere hesitated a little: ”Then, I just want to know... who he is.”
