Chapter 2930: Chapter 2931: Curtain Call

Yes, under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Angel flew with the wind.

In just a few seconds, Angel arrived at his seat.

One more step forward and he would reach the finish line: the area within the green circle.

However, Angel did not move forward immediately; instead, his lips moved slightly.

The audience outside could not see what Angel was saying, but Laplace and the others not far from Angel could clearly see the shape of his lips.

Angel was asking: If I go directly to the finish line, how many points will I get? Will it exceed 5 points?

Regarding who he was asking... Laplace looked back at the others around, and everyone’s expression was puzzled. Clearly, Angel was not asking them. Since he wasn’t asking them, there was only one possibility: he was asking the host.

Can Angel communicate with the host outside the scenic backdrop?

Laplace was not surprised; the fact that Angel could fly showed he had a hidden skill. As for contacting the host, why not? Previously, to show her the Eliminator army, Angel had actively brought Laplace into God’s View, and Laplace knew clearly what God’s View was like. Although they were in a Special Dreamland now, they had not left the Crystal Origin of Dreams, so why couldn’t Angel use God’s View?

Since he could use God’s View, it would be normal for him to contact the host.

Thinking of this, Laplace more or less understood Angel’s trump card, which is——Authority.

Some Special Dreamlands restrict external forces, but do they restrict Authority? They likely do not.

Perhaps some mild Authority may face certain restrictions, but high-level Authority would surely not be restricted. Angel, being able to create the Crystal Origin of Dreams, must possess supreme Authority. Some of his power may suit the Wilderness of Dreams and be unusable here, but he surely has powers applicable in the Crystal Origin of Dreams, which undoubtedly wouldn’t be suppressed by the Special Dreamland.

Angel flying through the wind is likely a similar Power of Authority.

Laplace was so certain because when the Crystal Origin of Dreams was first established, Angel had used similar ”wind” power; she vaguely remembered it seemed to be a power controlling celestial phenomena.

Celestial phenomena, this kind of power, is likely universal; thus even if Angel got it from the Wilderness of Dreams, he can use it in the Crystal Origin of Dreams. When the Crystal Origin of Dreams was first founded, its effect wasn’t as good as external forces.

Otherwise, Angel could have used the power of celestial phenomena to kill the Eliminators then, instead of letting her borrow scales to slay the Eliminators.

All of the above are Laplace’s conjectures.

If Angel could hear Laplace’s thoughts, he would probably admire her imagination. She was mostly right, but Laplace made one mistake.

The greatest credit for the creation of the Crystal Origin of Dreams this time is still Laplace’s. Or rather, the confrontation between the Mirror World and the Dream Realm allowed Angel to gain an advantage.

In the past, whether opening up the Wilderness of Dreams or the Dream Wasteland, the Eliminators were all behemoths; some were massive enough to rival the Wilderness of Dreams.

Therefore, if such types of giants were to come, even if Angel grasped all powers of Celestial Alternation the moment he created the Crystal Origin of Dreams, he still couldn’t clear them successfully.

This time, both the Dream Realm and the Mirror World showed leniency. The reason being, the Dream Realm wanted to maintain the connection with the Mirror World, while the Mirror World mainly considered... Laplace in the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

Therefore, most of Laplace’s thoughts were correct, but she hadn’t considered that she was actually the key.

Of course, this has little to do with the current situation.

Laplace’s conjecture about the current situation is entirely accurate.

Angel indeed can manipulate Authority and use God’s View, which allowed him to fly with the wind and send a Message to the host.

...

Outside the scenery, on a stage filled with countless streamers and balloons, the host stood under a spotlight, continuously explaining to the audience.

The people inside the scenery could not hear these explanations.

What the host said was mostly humorous, occasionally explaining the actions of the Black Cat Challenger, but it was not yet time for real revelations, so even though he explained some of the Black Cat Challenger’s actions, he didn’t reveal the meaning behind them to the audience.

Originally, the host thought this method could drag on for a long time, as the audience ”here” was very tolerant, even if they waited for two or three days, it was fine.

But Angel’s actions were so rapid, unraveling the mysteries in just half an hour.

Now the pressure was on the host.

He actually had many jokes to entertain the audience; however, he couldn’t keep talking about these amusing things—”here” the theme was ultimately the Challenger’s race, and he still needed to keep the audience focused on the Challenger.

But the Black Cat Challenger had already solved the puzzle and completed the challenge, needing only to wait four hours before leaving. Normally, the Challenger wouldn’t act during these next four hours, and the host needed to give the audience an explanation, but this explanation had to be reasonable; he couldn’t say the Challenger had given up. If he said that, and the Challenger emerged in four hours, wouldn’t he be contradicting himself?

But if he said the Challenger had solved the puzzle and was just waiting for the light and shadow blend, wouldn’t it make his previously boasted ”divine ingenuity” seem substandard?

Moreover, for the next four hours, would he leave the audience just waiting?

As a performer in a Circus, he wouldn’t allow himself to leave the audience hanging.

But right now, he had no way to give the audience a perfect explanation.

As for adjusting the time to let the four hours pass quickly, this wasn’t possible either... because ”here” also had rules.

The host was troubled when he suddenly saw the Challenger flying up in surprise.

Furthermore, directly flying to the brink of the green circle.

If the Challenger chooses to, one more step would be the finish line!

Seeing this, the host felt surprised but also relieved the burden on his heart. If the Black Cat Challenger chose to end the race with this method, he wouldn’t need to explain the Challenger’s previous behavior to the audience.

And he himself wouldn’t have to anxiously wait for four hours.

Thinking of this, the host immediately spoke to the audience: ”I didn’t expect the Black Cat Challenger could fly! In that case, this time the race really hit the mark! But clearing it is a good thing, whatever method you use, seeing a flying Black Cat is also quite amusing.”

Host: ”However, that said, the Black Cat Challenger hasn’t gone to the finish line immediately, what is he planning to do? Is he going back to try another method, or will the challenge just end like this...?”

The host had just finished speaking when he saw the Challenger’s lips moving.

He thought the Challenger was speaking to his companions and didn’t think much of it, but the next second, he was stunned.

Because a faint voice sounded in his ear.

”If I go directly to the finish line, how many points will I get? Can I exceed 5 points?”

Undoubtedly, this is the voice of the Black Cat Challenger.

But why can the Black Cat Challenger speak directly in his ear?!

The host looked around, and the audience was booing. The audience’s boos were because Angel took a shortcut, denying them a perfect performance.

This also shows that the audience did not hear Angel’s voice.

Is he only talking to himself?

Perhaps because the host was not answering, the voice of the Black Cat Challenger came again: ”There are now two choices. The first choice is to answer my question. If I can get more than 5 points, I’ll immediately fly to the finish line; the second choice is to go back down and wait for four hours, then enter the Shadow Path and walk to the finish line... but I don’t want to waste time, and I guess you don’t want to keep the audience waiting for four hours either.”

”Can you answer me now? Two choices. Or, if you have a third choice, you can tell me.”

From these words, the host already understood that the Black Cat Challenger knew that the puzzle of the magic racetrack had been solved and was also aware of everything happening outside.

Although the host didn’t know how the Black Cat Challenger transmitted his voice and investigated the outside world... it didn’t matter.

Just like in the last racetrack, when the White Bear Challenger took out a whip that made the Black Tiger obedient, perhaps this is the challenger’s ability. As long as the challenger doesn’t break the rules of the racetrack, he can use any ability he has.

The Black Cat Challenger also adhered to the racetrack rules, although he secretly communicated with the host... but that didn’t violate the guidelines either.

The host remained silent for a moment, blocking the audience side, and transmitted a message into the scenery:

”I can’t control the audience’s scoring. It may exceed 5 points, or it may not.”

Angel: ”So I still have to wait four hours? Or, are you going to keep the audience waiting for four hours?”

The host sighed softly: ”Here’s the deal. If you choose to reach the finish line now, even if you don’t get 5 points, I’ll make up the difference. If the audience gives you more than 5 points, I’ll privately give you a gift.”

The host didn’t want to keep the audience waiting, and besides, the Black Cat Challenger had actually solved the puzzle and did it incredibly quickly.

This had actually triggered a hidden condition set by ”Heaven.”

As a consciousness born ”here”, the host didn’t want to offend a promising ”challenger”.

So, he would provide compensation within a ”reasonable range”.

Angel didn’t know the host had so many thoughts. After receiving the host’s definite response, he unhesitatingly stepped forward.

Directly entering the green light circle.

With colorful balloons and skyrocketing fireworks, the final racetrack was considered concluded.

Next, the audience scored the magic racetrack.

The audience didn’t really care about the score; they had heard the host’s voice earlier. In any case, Angel would get 5 points.

Ultimately, they would definitely exceed 75 points.

That was sufficient.

However, Luigi was still a bit curious about Angel’s score. Previously, the host had privately given him an envelope containing the pre-sequel to opening a new Special Dreamland. This time, if Angel’s audience score exceeded 5 points, would the host’s promised ”private gift” also relate to the pre-sequel of the new instance? Hopefully, it’s also ”Uriel’s Choice”; in that case, the next time they challenge the Special Dreamland, wouldn’t it be possible to do it with Angel?!

Amid Luigi’s great anticipation, the colored lights at the front began to light up one by one.

The colored lights in the first row for others almost lit up instantly, but for Angel, the first row of colored lights lit up very slowly, one by one.

This actually showed that the audience didn’t know Angel had already solved the puzzle.

The audience only scored by their sensory perception, and since most didn’t understand Angel’s previous actions, the score wouldn’t be high naturally.

Half a minute later, the last colored light finished.

points.

Not even the first row of colored lights was fully lit.

However, no one cared how high the score was, since as long as Angel scored 5 points, he could rescue the Rabbit Girl and Laplace. A higher score didn’t make much difference, as it couldn’t reach 100% exploration level.

As 9 points appeared, the darkness descended once again.

This time, the darkness lasted a long while.

However, no one was too worried because a ”Immortal Realm Hint” had entered everyone’s mind at that moment.

”The performance has ended; the Circus is taking a curtain call. Settlement will begin after the curtain call.”

Though there was no countdown, everyone knew the outside host was taking a curtain call. Once the curtain call finished, they estimated they’d be able to leave.

During the curtain call, everyone started chatting.

The first to speak was the Rabbit Girl, confessing and blaming herself for taking the headband from the ground without thinking.

After Luigi offered a few words of consolation, he turned the topic to Angel, mainly inquiring about Angel’s various performances on the final magic racetrack, such as: How did he discern the Shadow Path? How was he able to fly? If he could fly, why did he construct the Shadow Path?

Angel brushed these questions off with a few casual replies, then shifted the topic to Laplace.

They had already spent a long time at the Crystal Origin of Dreams, and some ”traits” of the Sweet Dreams had indeed entered the Crystal Origin of Dreams, only to be seized first by the Immortal Realm. Angel was already prepared to find a quiet place to study the Immortal Realm.

Before that, Angel still needed to resolve some issues, including leaving the Subterranean Ruins and finding a way to re-enter the Mirror Domain, as only within the Mirror Domain could they access the Crystal Origin of Dreams; in addition, there were some closing matters for the Crystal Origin of Dreams, which included its future development and... what kind of Authority Laplace was prepared to assume.

Laplace had mentioned consulting with Glaipnir before deciding. Although they hadn’t discussed it in front of Angel, Angel believed they had an in-depth exchange in private.

So, what was the outcome of that exchange?

Had Laplace prepared to assume Authority?

During the relay race, Angel didn’t have time to ask, but now that the relay race was over and there was free time, he took the opportunity to inquire about it.
