Chapter 2918: Chapter 2919: Simulation Track

Laplace conveyed the information she acquired, although she omitted some details about the challenge failure, which everyone understood.

”The Special Dreamland ’Sunshine Circus’ currently contains two challengers, and will open new challenge modes.”

”New mode is loading...”

”New mode successfully loaded.”

”Current challenge modes available: Single Race and Relay Race.”

That was the information obtained by Laplace.

The Single Race, like before, involves one person challenging all the levels. Additionally, the Single Race has a weight bonus, providing a higher exploration degree.

The newly added Relay Race requires five challengers to start. Each challenger tackles one track, and in the end, exploration degrees are awarded based on different track performances.

Like the Single Race, if the Relay Race is completed, it can also rescue Laplace and the Rabbit Girl, who are trapped.

Moreover, the Relay Race and Single Race belong to different challenge modes, so both Laplace and the Rabbit Girl can participate in a challenge on the same day.

This means that if the Relay Race is chosen now, Laplace and the Rabbit Girl are already contestants, and only three more participants need to be selected.

Laplace said ”no need for Luigi to take risks” precisely due to the Relay Race.

Currently, the Fire Hoop Track has mandatory requirements that must be performed, otherwise the phantom dolphin won’t move forward. If selecting the Relay Race, Luigi can go to the third track.

The third track, as long as you don’t jump into the Silver Sea to seek death, is essentially not dangerous, making it very suitable for Luigi.

”So, are you hoping we challenge the Relay Race?” Angel asked.

”Yes, the difficulty of the Relay Race will be somewhat lower.” Laplace paused, looking at Angel: ”However, you don’t have to participate. I will find someone else to fill the spot.”

If choosing the Relay Race, three more challengers are needed. Glaipnir and Luigi can be counted, so just one more is needed.

According to Laplace, she will find someone else to fill the slot, who that person is, Angel currently doesn’t know. However... he feels there’s no need to deliberately look for someone else; he could participate as well.

Angel: ”No need to specifically find someone else, I can participate.”

His suggestion is mainly because he has confidence... anyway, with the Authority Tree present, even if they actually get trapped, he has other means to leave. At most, it would just take some time.

Laplace glanced at Angel; she did not consider Angel because she wasn’t worried but because she was concerned he might also get trapped... but thinking it through, if trapped, then trapped; after all, they can go offline. If all five of them are trapped, then find another five; can’t just send people wave after wave?

Thinking of this, Laplace didn’t say much, but nodded to Angel to show her acknowledgment.

Angel: ”Participation isn’t a problem, but currently we only know the first three tracks, the identities of the remaining two tracks are unclear; how should the relay order be allocated?”

For the first three tracks, preparations can be made targeted, but not knowing what the latter two tracks are could lead to mishaps.

Laplace: ”My temporal body and I can start the Relay Race now, and once it’s started, per the prompt, we can foresee the names and rough information of the five tracks. However, starting the Relay Race now means that it cannot be concluded before initiating the Single Race.”

Angel rubbed his chin: ”In that case, we can give it a try. For the Single Race, it can be temporarily abandoned.”

Overall, the difficulty of the Relay Race would be less than the Single Race, but the Relay Race doesn’t have the weight bonus, increasing the difficulty of acquiring exploration degrees.

However, if exploration degree isn’t the primary goal, then the Relay Race is undoubtedly the optimal choice.

”Why not start the Relay Race first, and we can review the information on the five tracks and then arrange them?”

Laplace nodded, and in the next instant, she and the Rabbit Girl entered the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

Soon, both opened their eyes.

Without waiting for the others to ask, Laplace spoke first: ”The last two tracks are the Animal Taming Track and the Magic Track.”

Animal Taming Track and Magic Track? Geographically, these are part of the circus program, but both taming and magic should involve acts, so why have they become tracks? Or, like the Fire Hoop Track, do they also require performances?

Everyone else is Laplace’s temporal body, so once Laplace opened her eyes, they already learned about the tracks through their spiritual channels.

Only Angel remained puzzled.

Laplace: ”The information given for the Animal Taming Track is: Walking with the Beast, requiring contestants to reach the endpoint alongside a tamed beast.”

Angel: ”What beast? How to tame it?”

Laplace shook her head: ”It doesn’t say.”

Angel: ...well, the rough information is indeed quite rough.

Holding his calm, Angel proceeded to ask: ”And the Magic Track, what does it entail?”

Laplace: ”The Magic Track information is also only a sentence: Please find the final exit amidst black and white and light and shadow.”

Black and white, light and shadow, finding exits... Angel murmured softly, ”That sounds related to Misdirection? If so, then I might try this track.”

Typically, mention of magic inevitably involves Misdirection, and illusion techniques are fundamentally based on Misdirection. If this track truly involves Misdirection, Angel would certainly be the most fitting.

”You’re going to try the Magic Track?” Laplace softly inquired: ”Are you sure?”

Angel nodded: ”I’m sure.”

The certainty in Angel’s response is due to further reflection... it shouldn’t be questioned, but instead confirmed: the Magic Track certainly involves Misdirection.

Studying Basic Illusion Technique, Angel learned about Misdirection. Magicians have a clever analogy for Misdirection: Black and white are the backdrop of Misdirection, while light and shadow are the curtains.

Black, white, light, and shadow are indispensable elements of Misdirection, so this final track is practically guaranteed to be associated with Misdirection.

Misdirection can deceive many, but never Angel. Since Misdirection is, in reality, one of the basics of illusion techniques.

Laplace paused briefly, finally nodding: ”Alright, the Magic Track is yours.”

With that, Laplace looked at her temporal bodies: ”The other tracks, let’s discuss distribution... right here.”

By ”right here,” she meant to discuss openly with her temporal bodies instead of through spiritual channels, which shows consideration for Angel.

Following a melodious harp tune, Luigi first said: ”The Fire Hoop Track is mine, don’t worry, even without a harp, I will deliver a perfect performance.”

No one protested; Luigi is undeniably the most suited for the Fire Hoop Track.

Laplace then chimed: ”Currently, the Animal Taming Track is unknown, potentially requiring a struggle with beasts, I suggest I take it.”

As Laplace finished speaking, Angel said softly, ”If you go to the Beast Taming Track, who will go to the Swamp Track?”

The Swamp Track is not only a race, but also a death game. With the clown head’s frenzied chase, the difficulty of this game is actually quite high, requiring a very strong physique to escape alive.

Currently, only Laplace has the ”Helen’s Imaginative Constitution”, while everyone’s physique is just average, and they might not be able to complete it.

Laplace was also a bit hesitant upon hearing Angel’s words.

Indeed, the Swamp Track is a big problem.

Angel was silent for a moment: ”Let’s do it this way, I’ll construct an Illusionary Realm that includes the Sunshine Circus track, and you guys can try it out... Oh, and you should limit your physique to an ordinary person’s level.”

Angel is the only one besides Laplace who has seen all three initial tracks. He is very familiar with all the details, so the Illusionary Realm he constructs can best restore the track.

Everyone thought for a moment and nodded in agreement, since experiencing the track firsthand is indeed the best selection method.

As for the matter of physique limitation, Laplace said she could control the energy allocated to the Temporal Body.

Soon, Angel had constructed the first track: the Knife Mountain Track.

Laplace didn’t need to participate in the race because she would definitely clear it. So, the challengers of this track were actually among the three Temporal Bodies.

Although Luigi had already set his sights on the Fire Ring Track, he volunteered to be the first challenger.

As Luigi stepped onto the stage, Angel moved his mind, and a doll suit appeared on Luigi’s body... a White Bear doll.

No one found it strange, since according to the Sunshine Circus materials, they would definitely be dressed in heavy doll costumes.

At first, Luigi felt no difference wearing the White Bear doll suit, but when Laplace siphoned off 99% of the energy from Luigi, forcing him down to the level of an ordinary person, he immediately felt discomfort.

Despite the discomfort, he could still move reasonably well.

But when Luigi pressed the timer to prepare for the tightrope, he found the difficulty. With an ordinary body, bearing weight, maintaining balance on the narrow tightrope, and finishing a thousand meters in half a minute, it was simply impossible.

Not to mention a thousand meters, Luigi lost his balance after only fifty meters and fell off the tightrope.

As for the time spent... it’s better not to mention it.

Luigi failed, and next was Glaipnir’s turn. Angel also dressed her in the White Bear doll suit.

Glaipnir also did not complete the goal of a thousand meters in half a minute.

However, after Glaipnir’s failure, Angel conjured an extraordinary long whip with an Illusion Technique.

This long whip corresponds to ”Bella’s Whip.”

Angel: ”Although it’s unknown whether the Enchanted Land Tool can be used in the Sunshine Circus, let’s assume it can be used and try again.”

Glaipnir tried again holding the long whip.

By swinging the long whip, she tied it to the tightrope and leveraged herself forward, and Glaipnir’s speed immediately increased. Every time her speed decreased, she’d swing the whip again to maintain high speed.

When she reached the finish line, it was just half a minute.

Though Glaipnir succeeded this time, it didn’t make Laplace relax her frown.

Without the long whip, Glaipnir would still fail... Moreover, whether the Enchanted Land Tool can be used in the Sunshine Circus is still a question.

If not, the first track would directly eliminate both Glaipnir and Luigi.

Which leaves only the Rabbit Girl as a contestant.

But the Rabbit Girl failed on the first track before...

This means that currently, apart from Laplace, the only one who can absolutely guarantee success on the first track is Laplace herself.

After thinking for a moment, Laplace turned to look at the Rabbit Girl: ”If you fail again this time, then we’ll abandon the relay race for now and talk about it later.”

This was Laplace’s well-considered conclusion; if the Rabbit Girl also failed, then forget about the relay race.

The Rabbit Girl rarely looked solemn, and with furrowed brows, she said in a low voice: ”I will not fail this time.”

Laplace said nothing, watching the Rabbit Girl step onto the tightrope.

No one knew how the Rabbit Girl failed initially, but this time, she clearly learned from the experience of failure, opting for an extremely risky method instead of a conventional tightrope walk.

The Rabbit Girl curled herself into a ball, and with a light push from her hand at the edge of the tightrope, she rolled out like a snowball.

Perhaps because of her petite figure, she didn’t appear clumsy while rolling, and instead, she got faster and faster.

Half a minute later, the Rabbit Girl successfully reached the other side.

Apart from Laplace, this was the first contestant to truly clear the Knife Mountain Track. Moreover, Laplace used the aid of the Imaginative Constitution, whereas the Rabbit Girl relied solely on her skills and courage to clear the first track.

Despite her surprise, Laplace also showed a look of relief.

Seeing even the Rabbit Girl could clear it, Luigi also tried the rolling method to tackle the first track, but his sense of balance was evidently inferior to the Rabbit Girl’s, and he still faltered halfway.

Perhaps Luigi could learn with more practice, but how long he would need to learn is uncertain.

After the first track ended, Angel simulated the second track.

This track’s results were as Angel expected, extremely grim.

...A complete wipeout.

Glaipnir’s whip and the Rabbit Girl’s skills were useless under the clown head’s chase.

”The Knife Mountain Track can be cleared with skill, but the Swamp Track requires hard strength.” Angel looked at Laplace: ”My suggestion is, if you want to continue in the relay race, you must do the Swamp Track yourself.”

Laplace: ”Then the Beast Taming Track...”

Angel looked towards Glaipnir: ”The Knife Mountain Track can still be left to Little Laplace, and perhaps Glaipnir could participate in the Beast Taming Track.”

The circus’s beast taming doesn’t just rely on daily rapport, but also on tools, and this tool is generally the whip.

”If Glaipnir’s whip can be used in the circus, then she would be the best one for the Beast Taming Track.”

”However, this would require a gamble on whether the Enchanted Land Tool can actually be used in the Sunshine Circus.”
