”It got... pressed underground?”

Kro hesitated for a moment, then finally took a guess.

”That’s possible. Right now...”

Gu Xi thought it over, and it really did feel possible. Only the yellow‑green poisonous smoke in front of him had already shrouded the entire Poisonous Peach Mountain, and Gu Xi hadn’t even figured out how to enter the city, so he had no way to contact the Undead inside.

Actually no, it wasn’t that he couldn’t contact them, it was that there was simply nothing at all inside this Poisonous Peach Mountain in front of him.

The most crucial factor for a Player to connect with a Death City is the City Gate.

Without a City Gate, a Death City basically can’t be counted as being in your hands.

After thinking for a bit, Gu Xi still felt he should go into the city to take a look first. He couldn’t have a Death City fall into his lap and still know nothing about it.

So Gu Xi quickly headed down from the mountainside here, planning to test whether he could enter Poisonous Peach Mountain.

Just as he approached that yellow‑green dense smoke, Gu Xi heard a voice coming from within the mountain.

”My lord, please come in. The poisonous smoke won’t harm you at all.”

The moment he heard this voice, Gu Xi knew it was the same voice he’d heard underground before, belonging to that one called Silia.

When it came to the Elves of a Death City, Gu Xi was inclined to trust them.

So Gu Xi simply took a step forward and walked straight into the poisonous gas.

But in the next instant, Gu Xi’s footsteps paused.

”Can he come in?”

He was talking about Kro, who was following behind him.

Silia’s voice said mildly, ”Do proper anti‑poison work.”

Kro heard that line as well.

Given the situation, Kro didn’t say much. He pulled his hat down tight—he was one step short of putting on a full hazmat suit.

Following Gu Xi into the domain of Poisonous Peach Mountain, Kro noticed that the yellow‑green poisonous smoke seemed to have Spirituality; it simply never clung to Gu Xi at all.

As Gu Xi walked forward, the smoke would swiftly disperse to the sides, clearing a path for him to advance.

Beyond the smoke, a Ghost whose entire body was yellow‑green was standing not far away. This Elf looked like a Ghost, wearing clothes made of leaves, and holding a Longbow in its hand.

”You’re Silia, right?”

Seeing this Ghost, Gu Xi spoke first.

He was starting to wonder if all the Elves of Death Cities were in Ghost Status.

In fact, Gu Xi wasn’t considering that aside from Ghost Status, they had no way to turn into anything else.

If they all turned into Zombies, the whole city would probably become a mobile city.

As for Skeleton Soldiers, just imagine a Skeleton made of buildings?

Thinking of that, Gu Xi still felt that Ghosts had their advantages.

”Yes, my lord. Welcome to Poisonous Peach Mountain. I’ll take you to the Assembly Hall now.”

Silia led the way up front.

But Gu Xi was more concerned about what had just happened.

”Silia, what’s the situation with the underground city? And earlier, did some enemies show up here?”

”The underground city, along with fifty meters of thick Earth God soil, has already become part of Poisonous Peach Mountain.

As Poisonous Peach Mountain’s Level rises, some things down below will slowly be turned up, forming new land tiles.”

Silia quickly explained the state of Poisonous Peach Mountain to Gu Xi.

As for the enemies that had appeared just now, he didn’t explain.

”What about deploying the City Gate, Soul Summoning Tower, and City Wall?”

For the moment, Gu Xi didn’t pay attention to the details in Silia’s words.

”Aside from being unable to deploy in this world itself, they can be deployed freely in other worlds, same as for the Death City.”

”Then build the City Gate first.”

Gu Xi ordered directly, ”The City Gate is the key. Whether it’s deploying troops or building City Walls, you need a gate first.

Prioritize getting the City Gate up on your side.

Besides, I’ll assign a Leader to bring some troops over to secure Poisonous Peach Mountain first.

Once this city’s development gets going, then we’ll start sending forces outward.”

”Understood, my lord. I’ll coordinate well with the new Leader coming in.”

Compared with Luna, Silia sounded much less confident.

But that was normal enough—Silia was only an Elf of Poisonous Peach Mountain, whereas Luna was Gu Xi’s Contracted Undead.

Gu Xi could clearly weigh which mattered more between the two.

And given the situation in this world, Gu Xi was also more cautious.

Assigning a Leader here was exactly what he should do.

Only right now, Gu Xi was calculating in his Heart who to send.

Di Mi?

Gu Xi glanced at the surroundings.

The environment here didn’t fit Di Mi’s combat style at all.

Vampires simply couldn’t survive in a place like this.

What about that new Leader he’d just acquired, Jamie?

Gu Xi still shook his head. Jamie was better suited to field battles.

He wasn’t really suited to holding a city in a place like this.

Or maybe Jamie’s corpse was still around—bring it over for Summoning and see if there’s a new Leader available?

Thinking of that, Gu Xi slapped his hand. That was actually a good idea.

After those two battles, Gu Xi had never really had time to Return to Yalidov City to do Summoning.

Right now those corpses were still stored in Yalidu City.

If possible, this was the perfect time to Summon these Undead.

Once the Summoning was done, he’d send a batch of new Undead Corps over to replenish the troops here.

After all, Poisonous Peach Mountain was starting from scratch; right now it basically had nothing.

It had a hundred thousand Elf corpses underground, yet couldn’t use them at all.

Trying to rely on normal methods to turn who‑knows‑how‑many Races and over a hundred thousand Elves into Undead would take an unknown length of time.

By the time those Undead finished their Transformation and then took time to grow, Poisonous Peach Mountain would already have been wiped out.

For now, Gu Xi needed to temporarily shift troops over to protect Poisonous Peach Mountain’s development.

Once Poisonous Peach Mountain had the ability to protect itself, he’d transport the borrowed troops back.

”Build the City Gate first. Once the gate is up, I’ll extend the Path of Tribulation here.

Then you’ll be able to connect with the main city.

Focus on building the city. After the city’s Level rises, we’ll talk about the rest.”

Listening to Gu Xi, Silia nodded as well.

He knew that Poisonous Peach Mountain currently had nothing at all; he couldn’t even scrape together any troops under him.

If Poisonous Peach Mountain hadn’t just flipped over and raised the city from underground, he wouldn’t even have been able to deal with the enemies who’d been planning a Siege.

So before construction on Poisonous Peach Mountain began, he had to get the troop situation resolved.

Now that Gu Xi had told him a large Undead Corps would be coming, Silia was naturally quite happy.

Still, he said to Gu Xi, ”My lord, could you first lend me twenty Ghosts so I can activate the Pea Ghost Field inside the city?”

”Sure. I just happen to want a look at Poisonous Peach Mountain’s style too. Klu Brothers, let’s go take a look together?”
