Listening to Gu Xi being so direct, the person who had just sat down changed his expression and immediately stood up.

”I didn’t say anything.”

Seeing the other person’s cautiousness, Gu Xi just smiled.

Judging from the situation earlier, that woman had already overwhelmed everything in the tavern.

No matter why this person came to remind him, Gu Xi still expressed gratitude.

He also pushed a glass of wine on the table towards that person, indicating that it was on him.

At this point, the person’s expression became better, and he picked up the glass of wine and returned to his seat.

Then Gu Xi thought seriously for a moment, stood up, and returned to the room on the third floor.

Even though he had only gone out for a few minutes, the room on the third floor had already been cleaned thoroughly.

The originally chaotic room had been tidied up, and everything on the bed and under the bed had all been cleared away.

The sheets were replaced with new ones, and fresh flowers were even placed on them.

However, Gu Xi didn’t pay attention to these at the moment.

After closing the door, a large door appeared behind Gu Xi immediately.

The door opened only a small crack, and Shaya led a batch of thieves out from behind the door.

At this moment, Gu Xi was already contemplating whether to build a smaller city gate separately.

This way, when secretly releasing his subordinates in someone else’s city, he wouldn’t need to be as cautious as he was now, fearing that a too-large movement might destroy the building with the city gate.

”Shaya, take a look, see those thieves below, they’re targeting me...”

Thinking about this, Gu Xi dragged Shaya to the window, pointing at the street thieves in black robes outside.

Meanwhile, he explained what had happened along the way.

”Deal with them, and find out what’s going on with that woman.

If possible, take him out.”

Gu Xi made a throat-slitting gesture.

Shaya understood Gu Xi’s intent.

Gu Xi was not the type to be intimidated without retaliating.

If the enemy dared to jump out and point at Gu Xi, instructing him to wait for death, they must be prepared to be killed by Gu Xi.

”Don’t worry, sir, leave this to me.”

After speaking, Shaya glanced around, ready to open the window to exit.

Seeing Shaya’s actions, Gu Xi was a bit surprised.

”Isn’t it better to go out through the main door?”

”No, this is a tavern, and there are many colleagues inside. If we go out through the main door, we’re entering their territory, and when we leave, we’ll be affected.

Even if we can fight our way out, we’ll be discovered by those thieves outside.

But going out through the window is different.

As long as no one sees our actions, we haven’t been here.”

”Alright, handle it yourself. If there’s anything, let me know directly. Even if we’re in this city, how does opening the city gate matter? I’ve done it before.”

Gu Xi spoke calmly.

The existence of Death City gave him enough confidence.

Just like he said, opening the Death City gates amidst others’ voices was something he had done before.

With the protection of the army, what was Gu Xi worried about?

Shaya, being one of the earliest Contracted Undead following Gu Xi, naturally knew where Gu Xi’s confidence came from.

With Gu Xi having such confidence, Shaya was reassured.

As the window opened, Shaya swiftly dashed out with her subordinates.

However, it was still daytime, even the brightest time.

A thief causing trouble on the street wouldn’t draw much attention, but fighting here would surely trigger a reaction from the guards.

Not to mention that there was a Great Angel watching over the tavern.

When Shaya and her team rushed out, they didn’t immediately kill but used small distractions to lure all those thieves into nearby alleys, for thieves to fight among thieves.

Only this way, the thieves could kill in the dark without causing too much of a stir.

Meanwhile, Gu Xi stood by the window watching the situation below.

He noticed the thieves in black robes and cloaks were being drawn away one by one and disappearing.

Also, those thieves didn’t dare to openly wait outside the tavern for Gu Xi’s appearance as before.

At this time, the room’s door was knocked on.

Gu Xi turned to see Kro had already pushed the door open and entered.

Kro at this moment looked like Gu Xi before he had learned Fitness Skill, walking while holding his waist.

Seeing Gu Xi standing straight by the window, Kro had a look of curiosity.

But he quickly said, ”I can’t do it anymore, I’m old. Previously when I was doing archaeology, I could dig up a large excavation site alone, and squat on the ground to clear leftover soil, assembling various relics.

Even working days and nights didn’t matter.

Now it’s not the same. Although I slept well last night, the bed was too hard and hurt my back.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi rolled his eyes directly; what bed is too hard, what hardness wouldn’t you know?

I don’t even want to say it.

At this time, Kro said again, ”By the way, later on, do you want to go with me to the city’s Black Market auction?

The things unearthed this time from archaeology can’t be handed over to Rocovale.

If they’re weighed in my hand, they’re useless. If they’re handed over to the Black Market auction, otherwise this money won’t be recouped, no one will find me to do archaeology next time.”

Gu Xi thought for a moment; indeed, that’s what’s happening here.

It seems this main storyline task is truly interconnected.

Nonetheless, Gu Xi poked his head out to look outside the window one last time.

”Should we leave now?”

”What’s up, is there something happening outside?”

”Nothing much, just that woman who’s been giving us trouble has just appeared, sending some thieves to block the door, and I’m having my people clean them out.

Not sure if there are any other enemies outside.”

”Ah, don’t worry, we’re not taking the main door. I’ll speak to the tavern owner later; we’re going straight through the underground passage.

This tavern is connected to the Black Market.

Later, we’ll simply inform the tavern we wish to go to the Black Market auction, and that’ll be done.”

”But won’t that woman also use the tavern’s secret path?”

”No, the secret passage of the tavern is only known by tavern people. Brother Gu letting people go through the window without directly going downstairs is the most correct choice.

If your thieves offend the people in the tavern, it’ll block our way to the Black Market.

Now it’s different; they’re fighting outside, we’re taking our own route, the road is clear.

By the way, Brother Gu, later on the journey, remember to use your coffin.”

”Sure, the Holy Silver Evil Coffin is intended for travel.”
