Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1155: Chapter 1153: Archaeology Is a Great Profession

After Gu Xi and Kro found common ground, the journey wasn’t as dull.

Eventually, Gu Xi simply took out some drinks and sat down in front of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, drinking and chatting with Kro.

This time, in the exchange, Gu Xi finally understood Kro’s strength.

His reputation was genuinely earned.

Archaeologist, botanist, paleontologist.

These indeed show his true skills.

Archaeology isn’t worth mentioning, as it’s Kro’s profession.

The three nearby realms would invite Kro for archaeological assistance, showing his level in archaeology.

As for botanist, the title was forced upon Kro during survival in the wild.

If he didn’t have any botanical skills, Kro wouldn’t survive well in the wild.

Paleontologist, Kro had also demonstrated these skills to Gu Xi previously.

It’s apparent that Kro gradually mastered this through accumulative experience during his archaeological endeavors.

After all, when Kro was doing archaeological digs, he often excavated fossils from various factions of ancient, prehistoric, and medieval times.

Seeing these things every day, even an unprofessional person would learn some of it.

However, most importantly, what Kro talked about wasn’t these aspects.

A tipsy Kro candidly patted Gu Xi and said,

”Do you know why those three Human Realms place such great importance on my skills?

It’s because I occasionally unearthed some Ancient Hundred Races technology and long-lost magic, even Elven gear and Giant Dragon treasures.

All these are the things each realm desires most.

But for me, they are useless.

Of course, I can exchange these things for money with them.”

After speaking, Kro proudly told Gu Xi, ”Even with this, I still have some good stuff, not to mention the rest, look at this.”

Kro said while taking out something resembling a black stone.

[You’ve encountered an Orange Equipment Fragment. You need to collect thirty-five identical fragments to trigger the Orange Equipment synthesis task. Would you like to collect them?]

Orange Equipment Fragment, eh?

Although unsure about what this equipment is, the orange color is enough to make Gu Xi’s eyes light up.

Even though Gu Xi currently possesses two and a half pieces of Orange Armor, the Contracted Undead has one, and his subordinate leader holds another.

But no one would ever mind having more Orange Armor, right?

At this point, Kro slapped the black stone heavily on the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

”This kind of thing, you just need to ask if you want it.”

”Of course, it’s clearly a good thing, who wouldn’t want it.”

Listening to Gu Xi, Kro laughed heartily.

”Isn’t it, you’re suited to my temperament. Those people I met before said they didn’t want it, but were secretly eager.

That’s why I dislike Passive Telepathy.

Can’t make any friends with it.”

Kro forced the black stone into Gu Xi’s hand.

”You want it, then consider it a gift for you. I’ve only found one piece of this thing over the years, can’t even complete a set. If you have the luck, pursue it yourself.

If not, just as a souvenir.

If I’m not mistaken, this came from the Stone Demon Race during the Ancient Hundred Races period, they could play with stones quite well.

But they only played with stones, and were eventually defeated by the Dwarves.

Now, there’s no information about the Stone Demon Race circulating anymore.

This was what I found while excavating a Dwarven relic.

Should be the spoils of a Dwarven Warrior.

When I found it, it was mixed with a heap of gems.

I picked it after searching, and this was all I found.

This thing has been with me for a long time, I always take it out to test new team members.

But every one of them said they didn’t want it.

You are the first one to say you want it.

You directly expressed your desire, and that’s why it’s directly given to you.”

Whether it’s due to being tipsy or overly excited, Kro kept taking out equipment to show Gu Xi.

”This is a Giant Dragon’s Dragon Egg, although the egg is dead, the essence is still there.

This is...”

Gu Xi listened attentively, occasionally picking it up for a look.

He had to admit, archaeology truly produces good stuff.

In this collection, Gu Xi actually saw a type of weapon resembling a Sound Wave Gun, and what’s most crucial is that Kro claimed this is an item from the Ancient Hundred Races era, and after his treatment, this Sound Wave Gun can still be used.

Many similar types of equipment existed.

All were excavated and repaired by Kro.

Although Kro couldn’t use them himself, he could keep them for collection and show off to others.

”Kro, in these years, have you only excavated these things? What do those realms desire from you?”

If it were at the beginning, Kro certainly wouldn’t reveal it.

But now, whether it’s because he’s tipsy or overly excited.

He started talking freely.

”Those realms, they want a lot, complete equipment they desire, artifacts dug out they desire.

Gold and gems are their main focus of collections, and if there are no gold gems, technology blueprints are something they also gather.

I can tell you, over the years, these three realms have developed swiftly, completely due to my contributions.”

Kro said proudly.

But Gu Xi made a discovery.

No matter how Kro bragged, he never mentioned what he gained from this excavation.

Gu Xi didn’t speak much, allowing himself to have enough time to ponder what was before him.

His task, the ambush from the two Cyclops Ranged Attack Squads.

All seemed to intertwine creating a large net targeting Kro.

Looks like the three-month timeline on the task list likely indicates Kro acquired something during this archaeological dig.

This caused the current changes.

And the Blood God Son planned for Gu Xi’s arrival.

Probably aimed at this item.

It’s just that Gu Xi was still unsure what Kro had obtained during the excavation.

But Gu Xi believed that the people behind the Cyclops Ranged Combat Squad wouldn’t let Gu Xi escort Kro to Rocovale.

There’s bound to be one or two more fights.

Just as Gu Xi was considering this matter, he suddenly noticed the Holy Silver Evil Coffin leapt out from the darkness.

Gu Xi immediately put down his wineglass and stood up rapidly.

”No, we’re under ambush; withdraw to the room and hide for a bit.”

As he spoke, Gu Xi controlled the speed of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

Compared to Kro, Gu Xi was thoroughly prepared for combat.

When the Holy Silver Evil Coffin jumped out of the darkness, Gu Xi realized enemies had been laying in wait here for a long time.

He cannot fight from the enemies’ chosen location.

”Charge ahead, ignore the rest, I refuse to believe anyone can stop me.”
