————————————

After positioning Kro, Gu Xi raised the Illusion Magic Wand, channeling all his mana.

The greatest difficulty of the Resurrection Skill lies in the Undead Mage going against the routine of the Soul Summoning Skill.

This is a test for the Undead Mage. If the Undead Mage cannot control his habits and instincts, the Resurrection Skill is likely to fail.

Gu Xi understands well that the Resurrection Skill cannot have any errors.

Thus, he prefers to be slow rather than letting minor habits cause issues.

Fortunately, the books that Gu Xi brought back clearly explained everything.

As long as Gu Xi follows the steps one by one, there won’t be any problems.

Even though it’s a bit slow, Gu Xi’s mana flow is quite stable now.

Every step went smoothly. After ten minutes, Gu Xi finally stopped.

”White Bone Obelisk, bless me.”

Under Gu Xi’s command, another blessing descended upon him.

During the previous ten minutes, almost every minute, a blessing would come down to ensure Gu Xi’s Resurrection Skill had no issues.

But none of the previous blessings were as strong as this one.

With the blessing, the final step of Gu Xi’s Resurrection Skill fell upon Kro’s body.

Under the effect of the Resurrection Skill, a black and white orb appeared on Kro.

Kro’s body moved slightly, and he slowly opened his eyes.

”Damn it, what happened? Why can’t I remember anything?”

Once Kro awoke, the first thing he said was this.

Gu Xi approached and looked at Kro, nodding satisfactorily.

It’s Kro’s soul; the person is alive, the body is full of vitality, although some memories are lost, which is quite normal, considering the brain was exposed.

As long as he can be resurrected.

”You were ambushed and died in battle. I resurrected you.”

Gu Xi casually remarked.

At this point, Kro looked at the situation outside.

”Does resurrecting me require this?”

Gu Xi glanced outside at the battlefield; even though his immediate vicinity had been cleared, the fighting outside had not stopped.

It was evident that the current battle was at a scale involving over a hundred thousand people.

The scent of blood in the air directly informed Kro of the situation before him.

Seeing Kro’s unsettled expression, Gu Xi awkwardly smiled.

”No, resurrecting you was easy, but after they killed you, they wanted to silence me. I didn’t want to be slain here, so I fought back intensely.”

Gu Xi shrugged, ”I didn’t intend for this, but their entire army came to fight me, clearly intending to dismember me. You know me; I’m not someone who waits to be killed.”

If they want to kill me, they must be prepared for me to counterattack.”

Gu Xi spoke calmly.

Initially, he genuinely wanted to follow Kro’s advice and avoid conflict with them.

Even if Kro died, Gu Xi’s initial plan was to leave directly.

Until they used the Battlefield Teleportation Technique to block all exits, Gu Xi deployed his troops for a showdown.

As for why it escalated to this extent, it was entirely because they lacked the power to defeat Gu Xi.

Now that Gu Xi’s fought this far, there’s naturally no option to stop.

In summary, it was entirely their fault.

Gu Xi was not at fault.

Listening to Gu Xi’s words, Kro was left speechless.

He really hadn’t expected this situation.

Though, thinking about how he was just killed, if it weren’t for Gu Xi’s assistance, he would probably have been reduced to bones.

Kro could only thank Gu Xi now.

”Brother Gu, it’s fortunate to have you this time, otherwise I truly don’t know what would have become of me.

I won’t say much more in terms of thanks; later we...”

At this point, Kro glanced toward Rocovarlon City, seeing the battle still ongoing.

Uncertain of when this battle would end.

Their current predicament made even entering the city quite difficult.

Kro was hesitant about inviting Gu Xi into Rocovarlon City for a drink.

”Never mind, if we can’t enter the city, so be it. I’ll clear the enemies here, withdraw to the side, and wait until the battle in Rocovarlon ends before going in.”

Gu Xi noticed Kro’s thoughts, so he smiled and said.

”That’s fine, shall we retreat now?”

Gu Xi shook his head, ”No need to rush, let’s leave after the battle here concludes.”

With Kro resurrected, Gu Xi’s attention could shift back to the battle ahead.

Thanks to the Undead transformed from the Beastman Chief distracting the enemies, the commander of the Doria Empire’s forces hadn’t noticed Gu Xi’s side.

In their view, Gu Xi was trivial. The newly emerged Undead Army, summoned entirely by this present Undead; killing this Undead would effortlessly break the Undead Army.

The Beastman Chief, transformed into this Undead, hadn’t expected to possess such energy and status.

Watching the Doria Empire’s commander mobilize troops, he hesitated whether to engage or retreat.

Fortunately, another Undead pulled him at that moment.

This one happened to be the old beastman who used to follow the Beastman Chief.

Because his flesh had aged, he transformed into a Skeleton Mage through Double Death.

Normally, he should be in the Brave Fight’s Demon Sacrifice Camp, acting alongside Brave Fight.

But scattered memories led him to proactively stay with the Chief’s Undead.

Despite not being able to wield full combat power, he accepted it.

As the Undead Chieftain hesitated, the Skeleton Mage stepped forward and pulled him.

Just as the former Undead was the Beastman Chief.

”What is it?”

”Chieftain, when you act, remember your city position.

Your combat power and wisdom are strong, yet you’re not a Leader, not even a Hero or Boss.

The city’s dignitary won’t delegate the army for you to command.

Even engaging personally, the Chieftain pales compared to the Heroes.

Thus, neither side excels to the fullest.

No doubt the Chieftain doesn’t wish to remain mediocre like this.

I have an idea.”

”What’s the idea?”

”Be a decoy.”

The Skeleton Mage spoke quite seriously.

The Chieftain’s current battlefield presence is akin to a main commander, attracting everyone’s attention upon emergence, so why not develop this talent?

I think the city’s dignitary would surely desire a decoy main commander to draw enemy fire on the frontline.

This presents your opportunity, Chieftain.”
