”Are you looking for an undead who’s proficient in archaeology?”

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s question, Kro was taken aback.

”No, I don’t have anyone in my team who knows archaeology. I’m planning to bring over a few architects to assess whether it’s better to start digging from here or from the surface.

I’m not an archaeologist; I don’t work in such a professional manner. Anyway, it’s a dead city, so moving it entirely back is the way to go.”

Just setting foot half a step into the city ahead, Gu Xi understood the city’s situation.

This sensation resembles the feeling when Gu Xi entered Yalidov City with Luna.

This indicates that the elf gathering point buried underground ahead can be transformed into a Death City.

Now he needs some people to take a look and decide how to handle it.

Whether to move everything into the Mirror Image Underground Palace, turning it into a satellite city of Yalidov City like the Maze Demon City, or excavate it out, leave it in place, and connect it with the Path of Tribulation, treating it as Gu Xi’s occupied Death City.

If it can be moved, it would be the best for Gu Xi.

After all, the world in front of him is not just an ordinary game world.

It’s part of Creation; leaving the Death City here, if anything goes wrong, Gu Xi’s efforts would be in vain.

Moving everything here to the Mirror Image Underground Palace is the most suitable option.

However, once a dead city is moved, everything that was supposed to exist will change.

There’s a chance that the dead city might turn into city fragments, and then nothing would be left.

For this reason, Gu Xi also wants to find some experts to take a look at whether the city here can be safely transported.

If not, Gu Xi will need to consider how to handle this Death City.

Though he’s been in this game world for only a few days, Gu Xi can confirm there must be entities above Level 30 here.

The last person who activated Creation fought up to this point.

Gu Xi is unclear now if this person is still alive and whether they reside in this world.

If they do, what is their current identity?

As a player involved in Creation, Gu Xi wonders if establishing a city here might disrupt Creation’s path.

Gu Xi has to carefully consider all these aspects.

If he acts recklessly without clear consideration, Gu Xi fears immediate retaliation from the person residing here.

However, Kro didn’t know Gu Xi had contemplated so much with just one brief instance.

At this moment, Kro somewhat doubted what Gu Xi said.

But he couldn’t hear Gu Xi’s inner thoughts.

No matter how much he doubts, he didn’t stop Gu Xi; he just asked, ”Don’t you plan to go in and have a look?”

”Forget it. I’m not going in. This city is already dead, and I’m still alive. Going inside might cloud my judgment.”

Gu Xi just looked at the internal situation from outside the city.

Beyond the heavy Yin Qi in the dead city, Gu Xi also saw a dense toxicity left behind by the dragon’s breath when the ancient giant dragon descended from the sky and burned the elf gathering point.

These toxic gases accumulated in this city for so many years, though some dispersed, most remained and piled up here, unsure of how toxic it has become.

This explains why Kro, before coming down, was well-prepared.

He didn’t expose any skin at all.

As the conversation went on, several architects under Gu Xi came out through the city gate.

They stood before the dead city, looking inside through the vent Kro had dug up back then.

Each undead took a glance, discussed briefly, then looked inside once more.

Finally, one architect said to Gu Xi, ”Sir, the city has been buried underground for quite a long time, digging from the underground is inappropriate.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi pondered and asked, ”Is it because digging from underground may cause collapse?”

”That’s partly why; the other reason is the heavy accumulation of dust, and the original terrain wasn’t like this. Sir, look at this soil layer; there’s obvious subsidence.

In other words, if we start digging here, this area might collapse.”

The architect said, glancing at Kro.

Kro nodded as well; he encountered many things during his archaeological work here.

Some places he dug could hide people, but for slight reasons, they directly collapsed.

He cleaned the remaining part for a long time to find a safe passage.

The safe passage mentioned is the space supported under some ruined buildings.

Only here can we ensure this section of space won’t easily collapse.

Upon hearing the architect’s explanation, Gu Xi realized maintaining the city in its original form and building a Death City here was not feasible.

Thus, Gu Xi began inquiring about the likelihood of excavating from the surface and transporting the entire city back to Yalidov City.

In response to Gu Xi’s question, another architect said, ”It’s possible to move the entire city, but the biggest challenge is assembling it correctly afterward.

The city is already dead; if we move it, we’ll only end up with various building materials — mainly soil, at most.

Once we move it, the dead city is no longer a single unit but a collection of materials.

Whether we rebuild it somewhere else or place it directly in the main city district of Yalidov City, it ultimately won’t work.”

This architect’s words addressed Gu Xi’s primary concern.

Even if the transported parts are reassembled, it can’t restore the city to its original dead state.

The moved parts will only become materials for Yalidov City.

Gu Xi doesn’t want this; seeing all this, none of the three architects spoke, while Kro had things to say but realized his knowledge vastly differed from Gu Xi’s current needs.

It’s better for him to remain silent now.

Without Kro’s incessant chatter in his ear, Gu Xi could calmly assess the situation.

With the two most reasonable approaches deemed unfeasible, Gu Xi’s thoughts began to drift toward different directions.

After careful consideration, Gu Xi turned to Kro, who had been silent all along, and asked.

”Kro, you previously conducted research here. What was the last piece of information you uncovered during your excavation? Are there any legends or other content about this city in front of us?”
