Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 184: Chapter 182: All-Out Assault Against the Undead Calamity

Boom!

When the pirate ship reached its highest point, it exploded in the sky.

Even Gu Xi hadn’t anticipated this explosion.

It wasn’t until he heard the sound of the explosion that he reacted, crouching down with his head covered immediately.

In the explosion, a large number of clown pirate corpses rained down from the sky, along with undestroyed large objects.

Especially the gigantic dragon bone and the arm that could lift the pirate ship up, both crashed heavily to the ground.

This heavy fall spelled disaster for Gu Xi’s undead.

Though it had nothing to do with them, the falling debris directly took away a wave of undead.

This meant Gu Xi, already short on manpower, lost another group of forces.

Fortunately, Gu Xi himself was unharmed, and his largest city gate was not damaged.

If anything had happened to the city gate, the situation would have been even worse.

The reason Gu Xi’s Death City could deploy troops anytime, anywhere, was because he could bring the city gate to the battlefield.

Without the city gate, Gu Xi’s forces would have been useless.

”It seems I’ll have to build another city gate when I go back.”

He said this while standing at the forefront of the city gate tower, commanding the battle below.

At this moment, Gu Xi noticed something unusual: his connection with the core position of the Undead Calamity Array seemed to have been severed.

The fallen corpses were also affected by negative energy, starting to turn into new undead.

However, the quantity was significantly reduced, and the transformation process was bumpy.

The undead killed by the pirate ship were not immediately replenished.

Gu Xi realized he might have to face the attack of the Other Ghosts alone this time.

Fortunately, Gu Xi hadn’t relied heavily on the Undead Calamity Array’s power before.

He cast a worried glance in the other directions of the array, unsure of the situation at those nodes.

In fact, the situation at other nodes of the Undead Calamity Ritual Array was similarly dire.

They faced a scenario similar to Gu Xi’s.

Balloons invaded simultaneously, and the exploding balloons dropped a large amount of dust and paper strips, disrupting the array’s connection and support for these nodes.

Meanwhile, various eerie amusement park facilities squeezed into these nodes by various means.

Squeezing in were continuously spinning carousels with knight figures wearing clown faces.

There were roller coasters charging in from elsewhere, each pass through a certain spot would claim many undead soldiers’ lives.

There were also giant Ferris wheels like blades, seemingly intent on slicing everything apart.

...

The appearance of each amusement facility was reasonably logical yet eerie.

Almost instantly, the entire Undead Calamity Array transformed into a bizarre amusement park.

And this was after the Mage Leader discovered the array base was affected and already made adjustments.

Without intervention, the Array of Celestial Calamity might have been completely taken over.

Now the Mage Leader’s power could only control the core position of the Undead Calamity Array. He couldn’t even assist with the first hundred battle nodes, nor send a batch of the undead corps over.

He could only protect the remaining forces and players, using their strength to defend the final wave.

Once the Other Ghosts in the world were entirely cleared and the invading Otherworldly Corps lost their world coordinates, they would be repelled and finally sent away by the world’s power.

There might still be a slim chance of victory then.

As for those players at the outside nodes, the Mage Leader could only pray in his heart for their safety.

But the Mage Leader never expected Gu Xi to have already dealt with the invading amusement facilities, even considering others’ safety.

At the same time, Gu Xi withdrew his gaze and clearly heard a crazed laughter from afar.

Along with the laughter came a large group of Other Ghosts pressing towards his direction.

Obviously, the third wave of Other Ghosts’ attack had begun.

However, Gu Xi wasn’t concerned about this; what caught his eye was something seemingly rising from the distant ground as the Other Ghosts appeared.

That’s what really worried Gu Xi.

He had a feeling that what was emerging from the ground was the key to this Other Ghosts’ attack.

After glancing at the troops below the city gate, Gu Xi gritted his teeth, ”Stone Gargoyles.”

Upon receiving Gu Xi’s order, fifteen Stone Gargoyles swiftly flew to face him.

”Do you see that light pillar over there? Fly towards it now and help me deliver a message. Ask if we can get reinforcements over here, and if possible, make it within three hours.

Otherwise, I might not hold out.”

As he spoke, Gu Xi began penning a letter.

Meanwhile, Gu Xi began packing weapons and equipment into the ”Damaged Package.”

Gu Xi had already planned that if no support came, he might have to carry a shield and act as a heavy tank in the final moments.

At that time, the purple Ghost Face and the Deceitful Immortal Hand would be his last means of survival.

He needed the equipment to be at the most convenient position, lest any issue arose, and he had no chance to grab the gear.

After organizing his things, the Other Ghosts’ army drew near the area Gu Xi was holding down.

As the enemy approached, Gu Xi saw what was extending from underground.

Upon seeing it, Gu Xi immediately felt he might have met his match.

Behind the Other Ghosts was a gigantic castle.

By Gu Xi’s estimate, that castle was about the size of the Yaliduvi Tower.

If it had been stationary, Gu Xi would’ve thought it was the portal for Other Ghosts.

Now, this castle was also moving forward.

Though its movement didn’t cause anything like an earthquake, its speed wasn’t slow. Gu Xi even felt that if not for the slow-moving Other Ghosts up front, the castle might have already reached him.

Wait?

A thought suddenly crossed Gu Xi’s mind.

The Other Ghosts up front were moving slowly?

Gu Xi glanced at his own city gate.

He only had one Death City, yet he could use it to transport troops.

And such a large castle ahead could move yet couldn’t transport troops?

That doesn’t make sense.

Thinking of this, Gu Xi cast a more investigative look towards the castle direction.

Upon looking, Gu Xi discovered more problems. The castle appeared slightly distorted, and people were clearly patrolling the tallest towers, but for some reason, at certain angles, the patrollers would disappear.

”Illusion Technique? Magic?”
