After Gu Xi delivered the ten newly acquired architectural design plans back to Yalidov, Liu Zishi said to Gu Xi, ”Let’s go. We’ve wasted some time getting here.

The leader asked me to take you directly to the battlefield. Your mission is simple, and you’ll know it once you’re there.”

Gu Xi wasn’t surprised by Liu Zishi’s blunt attitude.

After all, he had already received benefits, so he had to complete the task assigned to him.

So the two of them rode in the Evil Coffin and headed in another direction in the Scattered Immortal Garden.

This time, Gu Xi tried hard to keep the Evil Coffin in sync with Liu Zishi’s, and he also started chatting with Liu Zishi.

”Comrade Liu, I want to ask, how should the Evil Coffin be modified?”

This question hit the right spot for Liu Zishi.

Anyone who could transform an Evil Coffin like that definitely had some ideas.

It’s like people in the real world who transform ordinary cars into sports cars just for the admiration of others.

If you go up to them with questions, you’re sure to get a lot of boasting and explanations.

Liu Zishi was no different.

As soon as he heard Gu Xi wanted to ask about modifying the Evil Coffin, he immediately became animated.

”You’re talking about this? Well, I have to explain it well. You probably never thought about what’s inside the Evil Coffin, have you?”

Gu Xi was taken aback. Was there such a question?

Seeing Gu Xi’s expression, Liu Zishi started to explain.

”The reason it’s called an Evil Coffin is for two reasons: one part is the coffin, and the other is the evil entity inside the coffin.

You’ve seen how the coffin is modified—mainly adding windproof features and speeding up movement.

You don’t know much now, so you can start by pasting talismans. Later, find materials like oak or locust wood to remake the coffin’s exterior. Alternatively, use blood to paint the coffin. These are the most common methods.

Many places offer these services, but if you don’t want to do it yourself, you can hire someone to modify it.

But as for the evil entity inside the coffin, you’ll have to handle that yourself.

What did you use to feed the evil entity inside before?”

Feed it?

You have to feed this thing?

Gu Xi was confused, but he reacted quickly and said decisively, ”Organs!”

”Oh, organs, huh? That’s acceptable, but you should use better materials to gradually nourish the evil entity’s spirituality.

Consider the attributes of the materials carefully. Don’t mess around by feeding it ice attributes first and then immediately fire attributes—the entity won’t be able to handle it.

If you can find suitable corpses, you can also put one or two in there to suppress the evil entity.

After all, the evil entity is dangerous. Without the coffin, we wouldn’t necessarily be able to defeat it.”

While talking, they arrived in front of a building on the northern side of the Scattered Immortal Garden.

”We’re here. This is where you enter the ritual battlefield. Once you’re inside, ignore everything and rush forward with me; your target is the frontline.”

Though he didn’t know what the mission was, seeing Liu Zishi’s seriousness, Gu Xi nodded.

After getting off the Evil Coffin, Gu Xi followed Liu Zishi into the building.

Upon entering, Gu Xi found it similar to the guardhouses in the Scattered Immortal Garden, featuring a downward elevator.

This surprised Gu Xi a bit. Could it be that the ritual is underground, in the tomb of Scattered Immortals?

Before Gu Xi could react, Liu Zishi took out a token and activated the elevator in front of them.

Gu Xi then felt a downward force as if his body had been stretched dozens of times over.

He felt like his muscles were about to be pulled apart.

But in the next instant, the force abruptly stopped, and the pressure rebounded on him, making his organs feel like they’d shifted from their original positions.

Upon landing, Gu Xi fell to the ground, looking worse than when the Cold Wind blew over him on the Evil Coffin.

Liu Zishi didn’t look much better, but he managed to stand.

”This is a transport channel for the Undead Corps. It’s normal to feel uncomfortable.

But we couldn’t make it back to the General’s Platform. Can you stand?”

”I can.”

Gu Xi supported himself with the Cold Wind Staff and strained to stand up. Honestly, he now wanted to lie down somewhere until his organs returned to their proper places.

”Alright, let’s get moving.”

Liu Zishi summoned his Evil Coffin, leaping onto it.

Gu Xi quickly followed suit, calling his Evil Coffin, but he had no intention of lying down—it was more straightforward for him to lie flat and activate follow mode.

While lying on the Evil Coffin, Gu Xi suddenly noticed something.

Though they descended, why was there a starry sky ahead?

This realization made Gu Xi sit up abruptly.

”Comrade Liu, are we underground in the Scattered Immortal Garden?”

”Of course not. We’re at the periphery of CC80, at a world breach. Past here lies another world.”

CC80 is the term people in this world use for the ULYUHDDS04CC80 world.

Gu Xi understood the reference.

But he was puzzled as to why they were at the world’s periphery.

Then Liu Zishi pointed to three beams of light at the edge of the sky behind them, ”See them? That’s the breach suppressed by the Scattered Immortal Garden, the Extreme Frozen Sea, and the Death God Snow Peak. Our job is to guard these breaches so that no one can take them.”

”Us? Just the two of us?”

”Of course not just us, it’s all Undead Mages. What did you think the Undead Calamity Ceremony was for? It’s a battle to protect our world, and everyone must contribute.

Your role is critical. Once I drop you off, I’ll retreat, and you’ll have to hold the front line.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll hold it.”

”Beware, we’re at the periphery of the game world now. Beyond here is the real world. Be careful not to get lost, or you might never come back.”

Gu Xi nodded affirmatively.

He wasn’t foolish—he’d guessed what the Mage Leader wanted him to do.

Death City and Death Incarnation could be the best combination to root quickly and hold until the Undead Calamity Ceremony begins.

Whether he can hold it depends on Gu Xi’s skill.

If the task wasn’t challenging, the Mage Leader wouldn’t have given him thirty architectural design plans as a reward.
