Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 145: Chapter 143: Slashing Kill of the Deceitful Shadow Boss

With Gu Xi fighting alone against hundreds of the Shadowy Squad, the battle under Gu Xi’s soldiers against the Deceitful Shadow Boss finally took on a new turn.

All of Gu Xi’s soldiers were gathered around the Deceitful Shadow Boss, engaging it in combat.

Some of the incoming Heavy Armor Zombies still carried their original iron chains and hooks. Although they moved slowly, the Deceitful Shadow Boss was standing right there, and no matter how far it was, they could eventually reach it.

After taking a few steps forward, the Heavy Armor Zombies threw the iron hooks towards the Deceitful Shadow Boss.

The Deceitful Shadow Boss quickly grabbed the iron chains, but the problem was that this was exactly what the Heavy Armor Zombies wanted. Once the chain was caught, they planted their feet and pulled back with force.

As a result, the arm holding the chain was pulled open, rendering the Deceitful Shadow Boss unable to shrink its body as it did before.

By this time, the other undead had already surged up to the Deceitful Shadow Boss.

They had all received enhancements from the Skeleton Priest, and although the boosts were brief, they were sufficient for the undead. More than six hundred various undead attacked, some orderly, some chaotically.

Some attacked powerfully, some normally.

But every attack came with a 20% damage enhancement, falling upon the Deceitful Shadow Boss.

Each hit stripped away some of the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s life.

Yet the problem was that these Undead Soldiers didn’t care about the enemy’s life; they charged with one goal: to cut off the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s arms.

Only by chopping off all its arms could the Undead Corps target the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s main body with their attacks.

The Ghosts understood this too. They no longer actively attacked the Deceitful Shadow Boss but flew outwards, pulling apart the arms that grabbed them with force.

As the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s arms couldn’t retract, more and more undead found their target, hacking at the stretched arms like branches, wielding their longswords continuously.

Especially the undead of the Bone-Slaying Camp, their two-handed longswords were now the best weapons for hacking off arms.

As soon as the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s arm extended, their two-handed longswords would slash down heavily, cutting off one or two arms with each strike.

Although the Deceitful Shadow Boss appeared to have countless arms, the truth was that the number of arms was limited.

With each arm being chopped off, the undead corps at the back joined in the assault.

Without the protection of arms, the arrows of the Skeleton Shooters could accurately hit the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s body.

No longer could they be blocked away by arms as before.

Meanwhile, Combat Squad 1’s Skeleton Soldiers held their long spears and kept thrusting forward. Unlike Skeleton Shooters, whose arrows couldn’t reach the enemy, their attacks were mechanical, thrusting forward and pulling back repeatedly.

Each thrust precisely pierced through some arms, striking the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s body.

Even if a spear was caught by an arm, the following Skeleton Soldiers could coordinate with each other, ensuring smoother progress.

Soon, the Deceitful Shadow Boss was forcibly pushed back a distance by the Skeleton Soldiers.

At this moment, the biggest weakness of the Deceitful Shadow Boss was discovered by Gu Xi’s undead.

No matter how powerful the Deceitful Shadow Boss appeared, it had a major problem: it was only level 6.

Even though it was using a BOSS template, and its life was stronger than some elites, its life ceiling was always limited.

A hit or two might not be much, but with more and more undead surging in and launching attacks, the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s life swiftly decreased.

Now, even if the Deceitful Shadow Boss wanted to pretend to be unaffected, it couldn’t.

It turned around and tried to retract its arms, so it could recover some life and boost its defense.

But seeing this, the Heavy Armor Zombies decisively pulled again, holding the retracting arms.

In doing so, the plan of the Deceitful Shadow Boss to shrink its body was foiled. The Bone-Slaying Camp took this opportunity to advance, slashing out, cutting down the arms trying to retract.

At the same time, Combat Squad 1’s Skeleton Soldiers accelerated, continuously thrusting their long spears.

At this moment, the Skeleton Shooter Boss, who had been looking for an opportunity, locked onto a position.

It raised its left hand high, so all the Skeleton Shooters could see the bow in its hand.

Following it were all the Skeleton Shooters under Gu Xi, part of whom joined the Skeleton Shooter Boss’s combat squad, while others were scattered troops.

But even without orders, all the Skeleton Shooters looked to this boss for guidance.

Raising the bow in its left hand meant to watch its actions and shoot together.

In an instant, all the Skeleton Shooters raised their bows, mirroring the motion of the Skeleton Shooter Boss.

Without looking back, the Skeleton Shooter Boss knew what was happening behind it. It drew its bow, aimed at the position it had just found, and released a shot.

Subsequently, over a hundred bone arrows followed the first arrow of the Skeleton Shooter Boss.

One had to acknowledge the Skeleton Shooter Boss’s keen eye; the spot it hit was precisely where the core of the Deceitful Shadow Boss lay.

The single shot from the Skeleton Shooter Boss wasn’t much, but the following hundred arrows spelled doom for the Deceitful Shadow Boss.

With just this, the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s life was halved again, simultaneously pushing it back a few steps.

At this point, the eyes of the Bone-Slaying Camp’s Skeleton Soldiers lit up.

They could clearly feel that the life force of the Deceitful Shadow Boss had fallen to about one-tenth, and it was time for a slashing kill.

Thus, the Skeleton Soldiers of the Bone-Slaying Camp raised their two-handed swords, each one executing a slashing kill.

Even if a single Skeleton Soldier couldn’t slash down the enemy, it didn’t matter; behind them were many more Skeleton Soldiers. They took turns executing slashes, and if one strike failed, many more followed.

Through repeated slashing kills, the Deceitful Shadow Boss had no chance to resist. After an uncountable number of slashes landed, the Deceitful Shadow Boss let out a shrill scream, crumbling into numerous black arms on the ground.

[Skeleton Soldier (Summoned Creatures) killed Deceitful Shadow Boss (Level 6), you gained 18 experience points (experience +5%, level cap, overflow experience stored), each participating combat unit gained 1 experience point, and participating summoned creatures gained 14 experience points.]

Gu Xi, fighting at the frontline, suddenly saw this notification and immediately realized that the biggest trouble in this battle was resolved.

Gu Xi slapped the coffin lid, shouting, ”All units, look this way. Target those normal deceitful shadows, kill them for me!”
