Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 127: Chapter 125: Choosing Professional Skills

In the most needed Passive Skills, unable to find anything suitable, Gu Xi’s gaze shifted to the Professional Skills.

This time there were more Skill Books available.

Most of them were skills the Undead Mage should learn, such as the Secondary Corpse Burst promoting to Corpse Explosion Skill, then there was Bone Spike promoting to Bone Spear, Bone Shield promoting to Bone Cage, and so on.

Or some new skills, such as Poison Cloud Technique, Weakness Curse, and so forth.

There were also skills specifically for enhancing the Undead, such as Undead Experiment, Undead Evolution, etc.

It could be said that there were far more skills here than earlier ones.

Gu Xi picked them, choosing ones he could utilize.

He had three battle merits left, so Gu Xi had to consider his situation carefully in making his choices.

In Professional Skills, Gu Xi needed a big move that could kill in one strike, after all, it wasn’t feasible to call upon the Death Incarnation every time he encountered an enemy.

Such a move that consumes all Mana, it’s more of a desperate act than a special move.

Therefore, Gu Xi needed a big move that could deal a fatal strike.

Beyond that, Gu Xi needed a control method, and lastly, another skill direction was to enhance the Combat Power of his Undead Summoned Creatures.

The better Skill Books in front of him were already taken by others.

Gu Xi painstakingly selected from the remaining Skill Books and finally chose the three Professional Skills he desired.

[Bone Storm Level 1 (0/100), consumes 15 Mana, forms a storm of Bone Fragments at the designated location, dealing 180% of your Attack Power damage to surrounding enemies within 10 seconds.]

This was the big move Gu Xi selected. He had heard of it before. Although the specified area isn’t large, at most stretching to a five-meter diameter, everything within that range would take the same damage.

It’s like equality for all.

The most important thing is, as long as Gu Xi has enough Mana, he can continue using this move, and it can be repetitively used in a certain place.

This means the power and effect can overlap, and if Gu Xi’s hand speed is fast enough, stacking four to five layers of Bone Storm in the same place should not be a problem.

Even with strong Life Force, it’s hard to withstand the comprehensive attack of Bone Storm, making it quite a promising big move.

[Wraith Whiskers Level 1 (0/100), consumes 5 Mana, forms numerous blood-flesh tentacles or white bone arms at the designated location, holding down all enemies who step into that area. When holding down enemies, there’s a chance they will become poisoned, stunned, or cursed.]

This skill was chosen by Gu Xi as his control skill, the range of Wraith Whiskers is much larger than that of Bone Storm.

The vital part is that Gu Xi can change the range of Wraith Whiskers, whether he wants to place them horizontally, vertically, or in a circular shape, it’s entirely his choice.

Enemies stepping into it will be affected, possibly becoming poisoned or directly stunned, and whatnot.

This skill’s main function is to stall enemy advancement, preventing them from rushing through this area in a short time.

If paired with Gu Xi’s troops, or directly used alongside Bone Storm or Corpse Burst, it’s incredibly effective.

The final skill is to enhance the skills of Undead Summoned Creatures.

[Skeleton Priest Level 1 (0/100), consumes 5 Mana, summons a temporary Skeleton Priest at a designated location to increase all nearby Undead’s damage by 20% and restore 10% of their health limit, lasting 35 seconds.]

Regarding this skill, Gu Xi specifically asked the Quartermaster, as there were some unclear parts about it.

The Quartermaster clearly stated, the 35 seconds refers to the existence time of the Skeleton Priest.

The bonus provided by the Skeleton Priest will only be available during those 35 seconds.

When the Skeleton Priest disappears, the 20% damage increase won’t stay, but the health restoration isn’t affected.

Initially hearing this, Gu Xi was hesitant to choose this skill.

In the skills for enhancing the Undead, there were also Steel Skeleton, Blood and Flesh Burst, and other options.

Choosing those would straightforwardly enhance the Defense Power of Skeleton troops or the Attack Power of Zombie forces.

Picking those skills would definitely be hassle-free.

But finally, Gu Xi chose the Skeleton Priest skill, not because it was stronger, but because he discovered this skill could be used together with the Death Incarnation.

Although named Skeleton Priest, it doesn’t actually have a physical body, and it can be placed on the back of the Death Incarnation, moving along with it.

Thus, it becomes the only enhancement that can follow the Death Incarnation.

For the Death Incarnation, the 20% damage is tremendously significant, whether it’s the Melting Beam Machine Gun or Death Dragon Breath, all affected by this enhancement.

This made the already mighty Death Incarnation even more powerful.

It’s this aspect that made Gu Xi forgo other choices and pick the relatively rare Skeleton Priest.

After choosing all three skills, the Quartermaster didn’t give Gu Xi a hard time. He just took out a notebook, noted down Gu Xi’s choices, and let him take all four Skill Books.

”These four Skill Books are still useful. After learning the skills, each book can still be read for three more hours.

If you read carefully, you will gain corresponding Experience during the process. It’s a good opportunity to gain Experience and Level up. Do not waste it.

Otherwise, leveling up through skill usage will be very tedious.”

Hearing this, Gu Xi expressed his gratitude to the Quartermaster.

He knew these were small tips others might overlook, and without specific guidance, many might never discover them in their lifetime.

The Quartermaster’s reminder brought great convenience to Gu Xi.

No matter how inconsiderate Gu Xi was, he had to thank the Quartermaster.

Because from the Quartermaster, Gu Xi really gained a lot.

Seeing Gu Xi’s face full of gratitude, the Quartermaster also smiled.

”No worries, it’s my duty. If you want to return the favor, kill more of those Other Ghost lackeys, especially their Bosses. Bringing back white ape skins is the best reward for me.”

”That’s easy, as long as the Other Ghost dares to come, I can kill a few more, and I will definitely bring you ape skins.”

”Good, that’s the spirit, exactly the kind of morale needed!”
