Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 115: Chapter 113: Attacking Enemies

Since there were no enemies, Gu Xi and Du Wushuang happily chatted away.

From Du Wushuang, Gu Xi learned many things about the Scattered Immortal Garden.

At the same time, he also learned about the events when this world was invaded by foreign enemies.

”Let me tell you, I was out on a mission at that time when suddenly a strange army appeared.

This enemy was not simple; not only were they strong, but their capabilities were quite eerie, especially those wearing white baboon skins. I encountered one at the time and almost couldn’t escape.

When I returned and asked around, people said those wearing white baboon skins were all Boss Level, at least Level 9. The fact that I survived such an encounter is a testament to my strength.”

As Du Wushuang spoke, her helmet, clad all over her armor, still tilted up as if to say, come on, flatter me; doesn’t everyone cheer when listening to bragging?

Gu Xi thought seriously for a moment, took out two pieces of white baboon skin, and calmly asked, ”You mean this kind?”

”Ah, talking to a person like you is so boring.”

Du Wushuang seemed a bit speechless, and if it weren’t for her helmet covering her head, Gu Xi might have seen her rolling her eyes.

Gu Xi chuckled, just about to say something, when suddenly he straightened up.

”Enemies are here, and there are two. What’s behind us—does it matter?”

As Gu Xi noticed the enemies, Du Wushuang also saw their appearance.

She didn’t have time to answer Gu Xi’s questions, closely watching the enemies suddenly appearing.

As Gu Xi said, two groups of enemies suddenly emerged from the forest ahead.

The leading one was a Headless Knight, clad in black heavy armor, with no head, as the white baboon skin perfectly positioned on the Headless Knight’s neck.

He rode a tall warhorse, without any followers, holding a long spear in one hand and a long string of human heads in the other.

As he charged out, his raised long spear pointed directly at Du Wushuang.

When the Headless Knight charged out, the Otherworldly Ghost Boss behind slowly stepped out.

This was a skinny old woman, with many legged crucibles trailing behind her.

As she walked out, the old woman tugged the white baboon skin draped over her and grinned at Gu Xi.

Before Gu Xi could say anything, various colored liquids poured out from those legged crucibles, transforming into twisted slimes in front of the old woman.

”What are these creatures?”

Gu Xi complained while pointing forward, the Bone-Slaying Camp Skeleton Soldiers quickly moved ahead, while zombies and ghosts surrounded Gu Xi for protection, and Skeleton Shooters raised their bows and arrows, preparing for the first wave of attack.

Seeing Gu Xi’s response, the Headless Knight’s spear shifted toward Gu Xi. It was clear the Headless Knight realized Gu Xi was the Commander of these Undead Corps, the primary target to be slain on the battlefield.

At this point, Du Wushuang, knowing she’s vastly out-leveled by the Headless Knight, still stood up to block the spear.

In Du Wushuang’s mind, Gu Xi, as an Undead Mage, lacked close combat capabilities, and the Headless Knight’s provocation was hers to face.

Even if she died in battle, she must ensure Gu Xi survives.

Only then would Gu Xi’s troops have a chance to exist.

Seeing Du Wushuang’s action, the Headless Knight was somewhat dissatisfied, believing he was underestimated.

Even a Level 4 Death Knight dared to provoke.

So the Headless Knight spurred his horse, swiftly charging towards Du Wushuang.

At this moment, Gu Xi fiercely waved his hand, the arrows from the Skeleton Shooters were swifter than Du Wushuang.

These arrows fired directly at the Headless Knight.

Instantly pushing the Headless Knight back several steps.

Fortunately, by then, the eerie old woman had completed her separation, with differently colored slimes bouncing forward towards Gu Xi.

Only then did Gu Xi redirect his focus from the Headless Knight to these slimes, as his Skeleton Soldiers immediately engaged them.

At this moment, Gu Xi observed the slime situation.

These slimes were liquid transformations, with different effects based on their color: green was poisonous, blue carried ice attributes, red exploded, and earthy yellow was corrosive.

Their levels were not too high, around 4 to 6, but they were quite troublesome in battle.

The bow and arrow attacks weren’t effective against them, even as arrows pierced their bodies, these slimes still lively attacked.

Slashing them with longswords can cut them into two, but they quickly reformed.

It was clear that until their life force was entirely depleted, slashing them was futile.

Meanwhile, Gu Xi noticed another situation, after releasing all the slimes, those legged crucibles crouched aside, igniting fire as if preparing to concoct another pot of magic potion.

This situation inspired some ideas in Gu Xi.

”Zombies, any way to drag those crucibles over?”

Gu Xi asked the Heavy Armor Zombies he kept.

They were equipped with shields, holding iron hooks in the other hand, constantly observing the battlefield situation.

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s order, they all shook their heads.

The old woman was quite knowledgeable about the undead, placing those crucibles far from Gu Xi, unable to advance without first eliminating the slimes ahead.

Even the Skeleton Shooters couldn’t target those crucibles.

Meanwhile, the Headless Knight, already enraged by the Skeleton Shooters, was struck back three times, then tapping his long spear to the ground, his warhorse ignited, transforming into flames and charging towards the Skeleton Shooters’ ranks.

The impact was like a rocket, instantly penetrating into the Skeleton Shooters.

Gu Xi only heard a loud boom, and within the Skeleton Shooters’ ranks, an explosion occurred, sending a mass of limb fragments flying everywhere.

Without hesitation, Gu Xi pointed at the explosion site.

”Corpse Burst!”

Ten consecutive Corpse Bursts ensued, not stopping until the explosions ceased.

The Headless Knight likely didn’t expect Gu Xi’s response to be so quick and the method so straightforward.

While he indeed killed many Skeleton Shooters with the initial strike, he was alone in receiving all subsequent explosions.

When the dust of the explosions settled, Gu Xi found the Headless Knight’s flames extinguished, and his armor was riddled with holes.

Charging out, he roared angrily at Gu Xi, desperately riding his warhorse towards him.
