Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 105: Chapter 103: Priority Kill

As the monster charged towards Gu Xi, he had already made his move.

Since it was the only means of ranged attack available to him, it was naturally Gu Xi’s only choice.

This time, Gu Xi wasn’t using the bone spikes as arrows or throwing weapons, but rather firing them continuously like a machine gun.

Anyway, Gu Xi’s mana was sufficient, and he had no other spells to use, so he wasn’t worried about consuming mana.

As for Corpse Burst, when the monster charged out, Gu Xi had already given up on it; this creature was too fast, and the zombies’ bodies couldn’t slow it down.

If he used Corpse Burst at that moment, the monster would have reached Gu Xi in no time.

As for preparing ahead, there needed to be a corpse in front of Gu Xi first.

Therefore, the bone spikes, like a machine gun, became Gu Xi’s weapon of choice.

Faced with the low-level bone spikes, the monster didn’t even bother to defend itself.

The bone spikes pierced into its body without even breaking the skin.

The monster thought Gu Xi only had such means.

Thus, it didn’t even want to dodge the Shattering Staff in Gu Xi’s hands, even when it was aimed at its own eye.

But at this moment, Gu Xi activated the Death Incarnation, and in the black mist, a strong presence like a bone dragon rushed out.

The Death Incarnation dashed out, giving the monster no chance to retaliate, grabbing it with both claws and lifting it up.

The monster didn’t expect its heavy body could be lifted into the air. As it was brought into mid-air, the monster finally reacted, glaring as a gray beam shot from its eyes.

But the monster didn’t anticipate that just as the beam was released, the Death Incarnation transformed into mist, reappearing behind it, and biting down heavily on the monster’s head.

Under the Death Incarnation’s manipulation, the gray beam released by the monster struck the battlefield below.

Whether it were skeleton soldiers or ghost soldiers, those who made contact with the gray beam instantly turned to ashes.

This time, the Death Incarnation could no longer lift the monster’s heavy body skyward, so it swung its head, smashing the monster against a nearby iceberg.

The monster, knocked into the iceberg, hadn’t regained footing when the black mist form of the Death Incarnation collided with its midsection.

The monster became vicious, reaching out with both hands to grab the neck of the Death Incarnation within the darkness, preparing to use the gray beam to melt away the head of the Death Incarnation.

If it truly succeeded, there might have been a chance to kill the Death Incarnation.

But it underestimated the power of the Death Incarnation, having already been cursed during the battle.

As it was about to unleash the gray beam, it suddenly blinked and forgot how to release the beam.

[Amnesia Technique!]

The monster’s gray beam was a ranged and magic system attack. Caught off guard by the Amnesia Technique, the monster forgot this skill entirely.

Meanwhile, the Death Incarnation with its neck caught opened its mouth, releasing a green light.

’Death Dragon Breath!’

With the front of the Death Incarnation’s neck caught, even trying to dodge became impossible.

The green beam directly struck the monster’s face.

For a full five seconds, the monster withstood the Death Dragon Breath.

This attack brought massive damage.

Under normal circumstances, anything struck by it would disappear completely. The fact that the monster withstood this attack for five seconds showed its immense life force.

But even such robust life force could not withstand more; the Death Dragon Breath was an attack capable of destroying cities.

No matter how strong the monster was, it couldn’t match the force of the Death Dragon Breath.

Not to mention, as Gu Xi’s level advanced to Level 4, the Death Incarnation’s level rose correspondingly to Level 12.

This had surpassed the upper limits of the enemy’s power.

With this strike, the monster ultimately couldn’t escape its death, being slain by the Death Incarnation.

[Death Incarnation (spell conjuration) slain special undead One-Eyed Sewn-together Corpse (Level 10, elite), you gained 6429 experience points (experience +5%).]

After the kill, the Death Incarnation didn’t leave, descending its jaws upon the One-Eyed Sewn-together Corpse’s body.

Its first bite targeted the head of the One-Eyed Sewn-together Corpse, taking half of its head off.

Then, as the Death Incarnation’s eyes dimmed, Gu Xi received a new message.

[Death Incarnation devoured conjured body, right eye mutates, gains new skill, Melting Light (usable 10 times per battle).]

[Melting Light: Emit gray beam from eyes, depletes target 350 life points in an instant; if life points are insufficient, the target’s body melts instantly.]

[Note: If Melting Light kills a target and the beam’s power remains, it carries over to the next enemy.]

life points?

Seeing this information, Gu Xi’s scalp tingled.

Facing that One-Eyed Sewn-together Corpse just now, Gu Xi narrowly escaped death’s door.

If he hadn’t summoned the Death Incarnation, the few seconds facing the One-Eyed Sewn-together Corpse would’ve been enough for him to suffer two Melting Light attacks.

Had that happened, Gu Xi would struggle to gather his remains now.

”Death Incarnation, kill them.”

Drenched in sweat, Gu Xi pointed to the battlefield, issuing an order to the Death Incarnation.

With a toss of the head, the Death Incarnation flung the half-eaten One-Eyed Sewn-together Corpse’s body in front of Gu Xi, then spread its wings, transforming into black mist as it charged towards the battlefield.

The Big Beard had been fighting all along, but kept half an eye on his own men.

Seeing the One-Eyed Sewn-together Corpse taken down, Big Beard was shocked.

He was well aware of his subordinate’s strength.

The One-Eyed Sewn-together Corpse was created by his hard-fought victory over a One-Eyed Cyclops with various materials stitched together.

It served as his mount normally, and acted as a siege unit during battle.

Yet after killing a few, it too was slain easily.

This indicated formidable strength on the enemy’s side.

Big Beard was harboring a sense of dread.

And at that moment, the Death Incarnation charged onto the battlefield.

Being massive, the Death Incarnation’s presence made the already chaotic battlefield even more chaotic.

Using the chaos, the Death Incarnation advanced towards Big Beard.

Seeing the situation, Big Beard made a leap onto the Death Incarnation.

He’d used this maneuver successfully against giant creatures before.

But little did he expect, the black mist of the Death Incarnation was also an attack; as he jumped, he felt himself being cut by countless wind blades, instantly losing half of his life.
