System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1549: Revealing the Truth

”Hahahahaha!” Josephine laughed hysterically, grabbing peopleʼs attention. ”Stripping me of my title? Who are you kidding?

”The royal family is corrupt. Your own king is a demonic human! He has turned several arbiters and even nobles into demonic humans.”

The people were shocked. Josephine might be a traitor, but she was still an arbiter. Her knowledge of the government was much higher than theirs.

Although it was an outburst, there was no telling whether what she said was correct or not.

When the royal decree came, she couldnʼt help but struggle one last time. She wanted to incite rage in the peopleʼs hearts.

From the beginning, the royal family was trying to stop any kind of rebellion due to the instability they made themselves.

And Wendy had done a lot of things to ensure it went smoothly.

By blabbering the secret that the royal family had been hiding this whole time, Josephine could incite that anger.

Since these were her last words, people would tend to believe. It would then spread throughout the entire kingdom, which would cause that unrest.

If the Demon Banner Army silenced her to prevent her from continuing, the people would think that the Demon Banner Army knew about it the whole time.

They never expected that the royal family, no, the one holding the highest authority in this kingdom, their king was actually a demonic human.

”You called me crazy or a traitor, but your own king is also a traitor. Hahaha, the order to kill anyone affiliated with the supreme devil organization? The royal family was the one who created the supreme devil organization to control the kingdom!

”When they couldnʼt control the organization anymore, the kingdom tried to use that order to cut off that connection. How pathetic! You donʼt even know that the royal family and all those nobles have turned against you.”

Anna, who watched the entire thing, couldnʼt help but mutter, ”Wonʼt this incite a rebellion, Dear?”

”Mhmm…” Noel paused for a moment but ultimately shook his head. ”Not necessarily. If there is a rebellion, it can be crushed immediately because there are more spirit transcendences in this country than ever.

”Even if you think about it, the Greenwood Kingdom has 4 spirit transcendences, including my grandfather. Meanwhile, this country has four, if you exclude the people from our family.

”The number of spirit transcendence in this kingdom has doubled since then, so it wonʼt be impossible.

”However, that also means the reputation of the royal family will be tarnished.”

”Even if itʼs not a rebellion, the royal family will have no way to regain the support from the people, no?” Anna frowned.

”Yes and no. Once people know about this, who do you think will be the most suitable to lead the country?”

Anna gasped. The answer to that question was none other than the person in front of her. Yes, it would be her husband.

Not only was Noel a spirit king, but he also created a land that was much more advanced compared to the rest of the kingdom. She even heard the rumor that it was peopleʼs dream to migrate to their territory.

Besides, Noel had been granted the title of a grand duke, which was known to be the highest under the king. Even the princes and princesses had to be respectful to him.

If peopleʼs trust shifted away from the royal family, that trust would only go to Noel.

But this also meant that if Noel didnʼt want to do it, the rebellion couldnʼt occur. Of course, people could pressure him, but with the current state of the Ardagan family, including Noelʼs strength, no one could really pressure him.

The unrest might not be a concern, but the loss of trust was something they couldnʼt ignore.

If Noel didnʼt do anything, there might be people who would be willing to do it. If Noel acted against them, there might be other things happening to Noel.

When she thought about it, there was a card that Wendy possessed that could be said to allow her to change the situation.

”Wait. Have you predicted all this?” Anna gasped.

Noel didnʼt give her any answer, but this was basically an answer.

”You know that this secret will be revealed in the future. Is that why you entrusted Duke Lorelei to the queen?

”Looking at the current situation, even if you wonʼt do it, the people from the west might do it. However, Wendy built her career in the west, so her influence there was massive. Duke Lorelei and Countess Christina took care of the central for her. As for the east, they had little influence after knowing that the third prince was actually the demon king.

”The north had been taken care of by our family. So, the only threat would be coming from the west. With her influence and Duke Loreleiʼs assistance, she could quell the unrest with force.

”As for the loss of trust…” Anna suddenly realized something else. ”Wait, the queen…”

Noel smiled while closing his eyes. ”I am not the only one.”

”!!!” Anna sucked a cold breath. Noel wasnʼt the only one who had foreseen this situation. Wendy had known about this too.

That was why Wendy had prepared to do everything, including becoming the puppet queen. Her role was probably the harshest one.

She had to restore the Muivell Kingdom, including the loss of trust. If she wanted to, she might be able to keep the secret of the supreme devil organization during her reign, but the secret might leak in the later generation.

At that time, she wouldnʼt be there to bear the burden.

That was why, rather than letting it be revealed in the later generation, she chose to bear all that burden.

”People call her a doll, but she looks like a scarecrow to me.” Noel shook his head helplessly. ”A scarecrow will take the beating but will still stand to protect the land. It is a different kind of strength that I may not possess, but it is something I can respect.”

Noel pointed to the window.

”!!!” Anna hurriedly shifted her gaze again and saw the marshal stand up.

The atmosphere had changed.
