Chapter 1544: Battle End

”Retreat!”

His voice echoed across the battlefield, letting everyone know that the sky demon king had made a decision. If they continued, the sky demon king could simply escape and let them die in Noelʼs hands.

”What?!” The land demon king wanted to protest, but the sky demon king simply shouted, ”It was your fault. Your plan sucks!”

”...” Noel, who had been clashing with the sky demon king, couldnʼt help but stop. On the one hand, trying to take advantage of this distraction might be a good thing, but if he continued using his power, his injury would worsen as well.

Besides, Anna had managed to injure him quite a bit, so the sky demon king would take a long time to recover. What he worried about the most was Josephine instead of the demon kings.

He wanted to crush the biggest variable in the war, so instead of attacking, Noel moved around as if he was trying to distract the demon king, when it was actually him trying to position himself between them and Josephine. This way, the demon king would retreat, not in the hill direction.

The land demon king wanted to curse, but the sky demon king was ultimately the one deciding the entire outcome. Without him, there was no one who could stop Noel, so he had no other choice but to comply.

It was his fault that he hadnʼt fully recovered his strength.

The land demon king had no other choice but to retreat. He waved his sword upward and sent forth a strike that would explode in the sky.

This explosion meant one thing for the people in the supreme devil organization. It was a signal to retreat.

At this moment, Josephine had to summon a portal to bring everyone to their next rendezvous point.

Unfortunately for them, there was nothing happening on the hill. After all, Josephine had been caught.

And the captains from the Demon Banner Army, along with the Zero Squads they brought, had been crushing the demons with both the Ardagan familyʼs army and the royal army.

The battle continued for a few minutes, buying time for the people to escape. Even the sky demon king had to agree with this plan, considering Josephine was their biggest card.

After that, the sky demon king led a retreat. Noel didnʼt plan to pursue them because they had gotten what they came here for. The demon kings didnʼt realize that when they reached the next rendezvous point, Josephine and the rest of the supreme devil organizations wouldnʼt be there.

”Is this all?” Oscar asked while wiping the blood on his face.

”Yeah. We have got what we came for.” Noel nodded with a serious expression. ”Itʼs better to end it right now.”

”Are you going to continue killing the demons?”

”Yes, but it wonʼt be too deep. Iʼm sure that they are going far deeper than even the Ardagan family a thousand years ago. They must know that this is the only way to gather ancient demons.”

Oscar nodded in understanding. ”It looks like we have no choice but to lower their number as much as possible before starting a defensive battle…”

”Regarding the details of the defensive battle, I will visit the Demon Banner Army again.”

”Sure.” Oscar agreed. This plan only succeeded because they were working with Noel, so getting his insight would be necessary for the upcoming battle.

”By the way, Incetta and I will be back to the north.” Anna came to them. ”There are 3 ancient demons there. Although they are not moving in their direction, I should be there just in case. Besides, the reason Iʼm able to be here is that Dimitri and Milfa are there. Both of them managed to become one.”

”Milfa?” Oscar was quite surprised that Milfa had managed to become a spirit transcendence. Although he agreed to let Milfa go because Noel had a plan to make her a spirit transcendence, it was still surprising to see her become one so quickly.

”It looks like the plan has succeeded.” Oscar let out a sigh of relief. ”And Shale might need to put in more effort if he wants to become the next commander.”

”Ahaha. So, have you decided on your successor?” Noel smirked.

”Well, not many have that qualification, and the ones that have such an ambition are even fewer. You should know that Milfa never had such an ambition. Should I tell you one of Milfaʼs fantasies?”

”Let me guess. Having a family with Dimitri?”

”She once misspoke about wanting to have 3 kids.” Oscar whispered.

Noel couldnʼt help but chuckle, while Oscar was playing along.

”Still, as a commander of the Demon Banner Army, I should conclude this matter.” Oscar nodded. ”Let me handle this. If you are worried, I will have Conrad with me. What do you think?”

Conrad agreed.

”All right then. We will handle the problem in the north.” Noel accepted the proposal. With the Demon Banner Army and the royal army, there should be no problem in killing all the demons around this area.

Besides, they could crush the supreme devil organization. This might give the glory to the Demon Banner Army and the royal army, but it didnʼt matter who took the glory. After all, Noelʼs aim was just Spencer and Josephine.

”Rui, take care of the matter around here. Make sure to minimize the casualties on our side.”

”Understood.” Rui nodded. She immediately left to grab Spencerʼs body that she had had to abandon because of the fight earlier. Then, she would go to the other side of the hill to ensure the operation was a success.

Noel, Anna, and Incetta would be heading straight to Annaʼs army to crush the 3 ancient demons in order to weaken the demon army even further.

Meanwhile, the Demon Banner Army would focus on crushing the demons that had been rampaging on the battlefield, while the royal army would suppress the supreme devil organization.

This would be enough to show that the current royal family was not like the previous royal family, which was using the supreme devil organization.

This was a conclusion acceptable to the Ardagan family, the Demon Banner Army, and the royalties.
