Chapter 1508: A Single Sword Strike

”Well, this looks like it has gotten bigger than I expected.” Duke Lorelei let out a long sigh. ”This old bone is going to break sooner or later at this rate.”

”Blame him, not me.” Noel shrugged while pointing at the marshall.

”...” Conrad just stayed silent, knowing that this was an order from Wendy.

Duke Lorelei looked at Conrad as if he were blaming him but soon laughed out loud. ”Hahaha. I’m joking. No way I will blame you...”

Conrad was just staring at Duke Lorelei.

”All right. I blame you a little. No, maybe not a little. Medium? What am I talking about? Hahahaha.” Duke Lorelei patted Conrad’s shoulder and walked away.

”You might want to use your True Spirit Body,” Noel warned him.

”I know.” Duke Lorelei waved his hand before jumping away.

Conrad raised his vision first. Wendy and all the nobles were watching them from above the city wall. Of course, some spies lurked around the walls, trying to see Noel’s true strength.

Conrad bowed to her first before moving to Duke Lorelei’s position.

Noel watched them closely before pulling out Ardagan.

Duke Lorelei warned Conrad. ”By the way, we will be exchanging a single blow. The True Spirit Body will cause some damage to our spirit link, but as long as we cut it short, the damage won’t be too much. So, let’s get this over with.”

”I know.” Conrad nodded with a solemn expression.

”Are you ready?” Noel asked.

Duke Lorelei and Conrad exchanged looks. They released their spiritual energy, producing a massive shock wave that shook the wall a hundred meters away from their location.

That shock wave produced a second eruption as their bodies started changing.

Swords began to appear around Duke Lorelei’s body. Several swords joined together and formed a pair of wings on his back. Several others hovered around him, obeying his will.

On the other side, Conrad’s body was covered in scales, his eyes turned sharp, and a pair of dragon wings emerged on his back.

”True Spirit Body!”

”Sword Emperor Body.”

”Draconic King Body.”

Duke Lorelei smiled, saying, ”You know, an emperor is bigger than a king, right?”

”Do you think I don’t know that you changed the name of your True Spirit Body? Each spirit has its own elements, so your True Spirit Body is related to metal, not swords.”

”That’s just you being inflexible.” Duke Lorelei shrugged.

Noel raised his sword. A small blue flame appeared on his sword and gradually expanded, covering his sword.

The blue flame looked gentle. Even Duke Lorelei and Conrad couldn’t sense danger from it.

”I give you five seconds,” stated Noel with a solemn expression.

Duke Lorelei frowned. Noel must be holding back, but he couldn’t help but think this was too much even for holding back. He simply couldn’t sense anything from the flame.

However, all his experience with Noel had told him that Noel wasn’t the type of person who loved to play around in serious matters. Hence, Duke Lorelei still followed his words even though he had a lot of doubts.

”Haaaa!” Duke Lorelei released all his spiritual energy and channeled it into his sword.

”...” Conrad reacted due to Duke Lorelei’s action. He had the same thoughts as Duke Lorelei, but the problem was the fact that he didn’t know much about Noel.

As a result, he could gather less spiritual energy than the duke.

”Here I go, Noel.” Duke Lorelei smiled and swung his blade. ”Emperor Sword!”

”Zeroth Thrust!” Conrad charged everything to the tip of his spear and unleashed it at the same time as Duke Lorelei.

The air cracked as the ground was unable to withstand the power of each attack. All the people on top of the wall were sure that they couldn’t take this attack. Even those who were at the grandmaster level believed that avoiding it was the best thing to do.

However, Noel stood still. There was no change in his power, as if he was just waiting for the attacks to arrive.

Five seconds were up. Noel finally swung down his sword.

Divine Slash.

In an instant, the blue flame erupted and ran through the ground. The flame became a hundred times bigger and evaporated everything, including the ground.

As it moved, a huge half-sphere trail was left behind.

”!!!” Everyone couldn’t help but widen their eyes in shock.

”What is this?” Duke Lorelei’s body shook. ”Ahahaha. Conrad. You screwed me up. You expected me to stop this?”

Conrad gritted his teeth.

Neither Conrad nor Duke Lorelei had found their king’s path. Even the third prince and the supreme devil, who had that power, were still unable to withstand Noel’s attack, so how could they do it?

It was impossible. The moment their attacks clashed, the blue flame engulfed their attacks simultaneously, leaving almost no scratch on it.

Duke Lorelei and Conrad waved their weapons one more time and struck the blue flame. They unleashed everything they had.

The sword strike slowed down as Conrad and Duke Lorelei were getting pushed back. The blue flame was freezing their weapons, but the ice shattered after clashing with their spiritual energy.

However, the burning property of the icy flame also burned that spiritual energy. Thanks to the combination of the two elements, their spiritual energy was rendered useless.

”This is not what I’m expecting... I don’t think I can hold it any longer.” Duke Lorelei clicked his tongue. ”Conrad! We have to get away!”

Conrad gritted his teeth as if he were unwilling.

”Conrad!” Duke Lorelei raised his voice.

Conrad could only click his tongue. Their gazes met as both of them jumped away at the same time.

The Divine Slash continued onward and slashed the river behind them, the trails it left behind had a similar width to the river. As a result, the water flowed in all three directions, turning the trail left behind by that sword strike into a smaller river.

Then, the sword strike shot up to the sky as the residual energy exploded, spreading the blue flame into the sky.

The scene was like an apocalypse. The clear sky grew darker and filled up with the blue flame that spread so wide as if the sky itself were burning.

All the people didn’t notice their own mouths were wide open. There was only one thought in their minds.

This is... the spirit king.
