Chapter 1515: Complaints

”How are you feeling?” Anna asked while placing her hand on Noel, trying to examine the flow of spiritual energy in his body.

Khalid was sitting next to him, listening to his pulse.

Noel nodded. ”I’m fine. Thanks.”

”What fine?” Khalid shook his head helplessly. ”Your injury is something I have never seen before. If you were a normal person, you probably would have died.

”Your two elements are striking at each other in your body, resulting in a devastating result. It’s fortunate that they are now in harmony, but the aftermath is not something that can be healed quickly.”

”Because I’m a spirit king?” Noel smiled wryly.

”Because you are a spirit king.” This was the first time Khalid had seen a spirit king.

Although a spirit transcendence was rare, he was a former royal alchemist. He had at least examined the Grand Judge and Fradania.

But Noel’s energy flow was something he had never seen before. Giving him careless medicine might result in the opposite effect.

That was why he only gave him things that could subtly aid his recovery.

Noel, of course, used his Force Control to stimulate the recovery, but as he expected, it would take much longer than he expected.

As a spirit king, the spiritual energy abided by his will, resulting in a new spiritual energy that belonged solely to him.

This was why careless treatment was dangerous.

Of course, Khalid had his own fun as well. This was an opportunity no one would ever have in their life.

To be a personal doctor of a spirit king, to study the body of a spirit king... it was something beyond his own dream. And he got it.

”This kind of injury can only be resolved with the medicine from the previous civilization.” Khalid let out a long sigh. ”Of course, several modifications need to be done before it can be effective.”

”Can you make it?”

”Please don’t ask an obvious question, Madam.” Khalid looked down, feeling defeated.

There was no way Khalid could do it. All the people that managed to produce or imitate the medicine of the previous civilization had made their name in history.

He, too, had etched his name with the three pills. But even this wasn’t enough to produce the medicine required by Noel.

Noel smiled wryly. ”Don’t worry. I’m fine. It will take some time to recover, but my body is much more resilient.”

”So, how long do you need to fully recover?”

”From the looks of it, I still need two or three months.”

”That long...” Anna was a bit worried.

”That’s what happens when I force myself to become a spirit king while fighting against the demon king and the supreme devil.” Noel smiled. ”Then again, there’s no other option.”

Anna had a lot of things to say, but Noel changed the topic quickly.

”Still, it’s good that you are back now. Have you had a good chat with your brother?”

Anna nodded. ”Yes.”

”I’m glad he’s doing fine.”

”Which is why you can’t change the topic.” Anna glared at him.

”...” Noel looked away as he got busted.

”You are planning to launch a counterattack in your condition?” Anna asked.

”Of course. This is the best opportunity to launch a counterattack. The enemies haven’t reached the demon king level, so they won’t fight me. In the meantime, we will exterminate every single demon we can see. The same applies to other kingdoms.”

”Will the other kingdoms also launch an assault?”

”Yes. In response to their request to smuggle their spies, I tell Livia that the Greenwood Kingdom has to launch an assault as well. The Atracaeca Kingdom and the Zaecuria Kingdom have a trade agreement, so they will agree.”

”So, we will be reducing the number as much as possible?”

”As you know, the demon kings will definitely lead millions of demons. An army of that size will be so massive and spread wide that they will also pick up all the demons in their path. That army will increase in size, so that’s something I need to prevent.”

Anna nodded in agreement. ”To do that, it’s best to launch a counterattack. I can see that. It’s just... They must know about your injury as well. They might use this time to worsen your injury.”

”You tell him, Madam. I heard he used his power during his visit to the capital two days ago to prove his strength,” added Khalid.

Noel scratched the back of his head. ”You don’t have to worry about that. Just using a bit of my power won’t worsen my injury. I can still fight to a certain extent.”

”Professionally speaking, I notice that as well. At the same time, because you use your power, your recovery rate has slowed down. Using it again and again, those two or three months will become half a year without you realizing it. Even if my head will fly after saying this, I have to say it.”

”No way I’m going to cut your neck.” Noel shook his head helplessly.

”In that case, I should be the one leading the attack. You can stay here and rest,” demanded Anna.

”You know, I know. I have to be there. If people think I’m weakened due to my injury, the morale that I have painstakingly raised will plummet.”

Even Anna understood that, but it was frustrating to see him worsening his condition.

Seeing how worried his wife was, Noel felt extremely guilty. ”How about this? I will change the strategy and the commanders on the field.”

”We will be launching an assault together with the marshal’s troops. From our side, we will split our army into three.

”I will be the commander of the main army, but Rui will be with me to handle all the fighting. I won’t make a move unless it’s necessary. I will also bring Khalid with me.

”The second army will be led by you. I will lend Raven and Grandel to you. It will be a perfect time for Raven to teach our soldiers how to fight a war.

”The third army will be crossing the river... In other words, the commander will be Incetta. She has a talent both as a fighter and as a commander, so it’s time for her to shine.

”There. You don’t have to worry about me anymore.”

Anna glared at him as if she didn’t believe in him. But this was indeed the best option, considering Rui was a fighter, not a commander.

Anna’s gaze shifted to Khalid. ”Khalid, you are to tell me everything that happens in the expedition. If he is going to break his promise, I’m going to break mine too.”

”Yes, Madam.”
