System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1523: Marching

The soldiers of the Ardagan family had once again gathered on the field.

Noel stepped onto the stage with a calm expression. He looked at everyoneʼs expression first.

Steady, confident, excited… It looked like their morale was extremely high. This would be perfect for their expedition.

Noel said, using his spiritual energy to enhance his voice. ”Iʼm sure all of you know that in the past one thousand years, humans have done their best to gradually retake their territory from the hands of the demons.

”However, this expedition will be different. This expedition is not to retake our territory from them. It is to reclaim our dignity that has been lost ever since the demon invasion.

”Itʼs time for us to show who the ruler of this world is. Just like how humans conquered the world in the previous civilization, we will eliminate every single demon who has been trampling our dignity for a thousand years.

”Itʼs been too long for humans to have no choice but to defend after seeing a massive demon army. We are already tired of having to run with our tails between our legs. Itʼs time for us to fight back. Itʼs time for the demons to run after seeing us.

”This will become our first step to our former glory. And you are the pioneers of that change.

”Let us fight for our future, soldiers of the Ardagan family… my brothers and sisters.” Noel smiled.

The soldiers were shocked by the last statement. At first, they couldnʼt help but recall how humans usually behaved when the demons came.

It was as Noel said. They ran, they defended, and they struggled. The Demon Banner Army or other noble armies had done their best to reclaim the territory, but it was never the same.

This time, they didnʼt plan to take it piece by piece. They planned to pierce deep into the enemy territory and aim for the demon king.

Nothing could stop them anymore.

And the one that made it possible just called them his brothers or sisters in arms. If there was any achievement in this expedition, Noel wouldnʼt hesitate to give them the chance to acquire it.

They raised their fists as the cheers erupted.

”Uoohhh!”

”We are going to do it!”

”Kill the demons!”

”Itʼs time to show the demons what weʼre made of!”

Noel waved his hand and shouted, ”Set out!”

Their respective captains immediately led their soldiers to exit the gate. People were cheering for them on top of the wall.

”Good luck!”

”Do your best.”

”Kill those bad demons!”

”Victory!”

Their cheers just made their resolve even greater. They definitely didnʼt want to lose to the demons.

Noel was accompanied by Rui as per their agreement. Since Rui planned to replace Dimitri as the new generation of pillar, Noel planned to show her to the public as much as possible so people would know what kind of person Rui is.

As the leader of this expedition, Noel was accompanied by Division 2, Division 3, and Division 4, along with a single rune mage squad.

This would be enough for Noel as a spirit king. Rui would board the main airship with Noel.

In another place, Anna was also boarding the airship. She was accompanied by Grandel, the new pillar, and Raven.

Raven was in charge of the soldiersʼ education. He had reported it to Luke and Leysha, and since he didnʼt have a lot of things to do there because he didnʼt have any army, Luke and Leysha agreed to lend Raven to Noel.

As a result, the majority of the officers were here. Of course, Anna also took five divisions personally. It was necessary, considering she would face the most brutal battle of this expedition.

And it looked like Anna planned to combine her strength with the beast kingdom to further increase her chances of success.

Meanwhile, Incetta was positioned between Noel and Anna as a buffer. Her role was crucial. It was to become the buffer line on the right side of Noel. If either Noel or Anna required reinforcement, it was her job to handle it.

Besides, Anna had to visit the beast kingdom first, so their fighting power decreased significantly during that time. To ensure everything operated smoothly, Incetta would be there. Vivi was there as well to guide Incetta.

It was a perfect position for someone who was strong and had some understanding as a commander.

If Noel wasnʼt the leader of this expedition, he would probably be placed in Incettaʼs position.

On the other side, Conrad marched forward with Felicia. Felicia might be just a spirit master, but her strength couldnʼt be underestimated. Besides, she was known as the first rune mage.

Her understanding of runes was second only to Noel and his disciples. Her squad was capable of supporting or attacking depending on the situation, which made her extremely versatile.

At one point, it might have looked like Noel Ardagan was trying to sideline the royal army. However, it wasnʼt because the royal army was weak.

Noel simply didnʼt have much trust in the royal army. They might be known as the most elite army in the country, but their battle experience wasnʼt as high as the soldiers of the Ardagan family.

That was why he positioned them on the left, which was the closest to the human territory.

At the same time, it was convenient for the royal army, because this position meant not many of them would die.

Last but not least, the logistic unit. This unit would be the one handling the logistics from food to transportation of demon crystals.

It was handled by none other than Rose and Elaine. In fact, Rose was to handle the territoryʼs problem in Noelʼs stead.

After all, Tristan and Howard had gone to their respective territories. And unlike Incetta, who let Noelʼs people handle their matters, they personally took care of their territory.

To ensure their safety, Noel had asked for the Moon Templeʼs cooperation.

Still, this was the expedition to kill the demons. The Demon Banner Army should be the sword of the kingdom to cut down the demons, yet there was not a single person in the expedition right now.

At the Demon Banner Armyʼs headquarters, Oscar crossed his arms with a grim expression.
