Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 798: Chapter 322: Suzi’s Declaration

”This is our investigation report on the radiation layer.”

An electronic document appeared simultaneously before the Six Ministries.

Gao Gong skimmed through it briefly; the report was not complex, and it focused on one key point.

The oxygen content in the radiation layer has increased by 25% compared to three months ago.

”We estimate that in about three months, this oxygen content will reach its peak.”

The expressions of several ministers changed; they all knew what this implied.

”Bionic Men can replace their respiratory systems, and Modified Humans can also have prosthetic implants, but Natural Persons will go extinct.”

”Excessive oxygen will stimulate the secondary evolution of ’Radiation Plants.’ Soon, a variety of vegetation will engulf the planet, and human settlements will lose 90%.”

”The ancient bloodline inside the Radiation Beasts will awaken, and the Radiation Beasts, or more accurately, High-level Radiation Beasts, will develop towards gigantism and ecologism.”

Agent J paused and said:

”This means that S-Level is no longer the upper limit of this planet. SS-Level Beast Gods will appear in scale.”

Minister Clown was also taken aback.

”Is it too late to conduct a large-scale Radiation Beast purge now?”

”It’s too late. ’Ancient Genes’ have already pervaded all ecosystems. Even if all the Radiation Beasts are killed, there are still the plants and microorganisms.”

Agent J pointed in the air again, and another list appeared before the ministers. This list contained possible masterminds behind the ’Ancient Creatures Crisis.’

At the top of the list was ’War.’

Gao Gong also saw information about the ’Brain-in-a-Vat.’

Both have the capability to induce large-scale mutation and also possess biomechanical technology.

”What, Minister Gao isn’t going to explain?” Minister Clown looked at Gao Gong, his clown mask tilting slightly.

”Unclear, unknown, unsure,” Gao Gong instantly denied with a threefold negation.

”Then you wouldn’t mind if we investigate Du Gao Technology?”

”For departmental interests and world peace, of course, I don’t mind!” Gao Gong said righteously, but then changed his tone, ”However, since Du Gao Technology is one of Mother City’s two designated electronic brain contractors, any investigation must be approved by Mother City.”

”Alright, stop arguing,” the Minister of Prosthetic Registration Department stopped their bickering, crushing the electronic file with a thick arm, and frowned, ”We all know that this thing is most likely the old bugger’s doing! Unfortunately, this guy is hidden in the Information Ocean, and it’s impossible to find him.”

”Even if we find him, it doesn’t mean we can defeat him. Don’t forget, its ability to infiltrate the High-level Information Layer means it broke through the final barrier and became the fourth Planet Host. More importantly,” Misty glanced at Gao Gong, ”it’s also number two.”

”That means, even if we rack our brains to defeat it, we can’t kill it, nor can we severely damage it,” said the Minister of Prosthetic Registration Department.

”Yes.”

”Not necessarily,” Guu Yitong interjected suddenly, looking at Gao Gong with intense eyes, ”We can’t make a move, but it doesn’t mean Minister Gao can’t.”

The battle between Destruction Forms is tacitly approved by this Cyber Test Field. From the perspective of a ’Cosmic Relic,’ it is a process of fusion.

”I can clash with War if you guys have a way to bring it out,” Gao Gong shrugged indifferently.

Given his current state, in a one-on-one, War might not be able to beat him.

Of course, the opponent probably wouldn’t fight him, as their approach is more of a summoning type.

Soon, there was another report from two ’United Squad’ members.

One report was about the ’Virtual Personality,’ manifested by many people recently having signs of significant changes in their temperaments.

The other report was about a large-scale plague, or rather, insect plague in the Bionic Realm.

Gao Gong listened silently.

Two of the three Mother Cities had issues, but the Six Ministries are not incompetent. In fact, every member here is an elite among elites. Within just a few months of investigation, they uncovered different waves in the Cyber Wave: the ’Memory Wave,’ ’Ancient Creatures Wave,’ ’Personality Wave,’ and ’Bionic Revolution.’

It’s already close to half.

Specific countermeasures were also planned and assigned as the meeting progressed.

Put it this way, if it weren’t for the ’Memory Mother’ being a bug, then these deployments would likely be very effective.

But now.

Aramaki understood this, so he chose to go solo.

Gao Gong understood this even better, so he chose to be an onlooker.

Soon, the meeting concluded.

Each minister had a very serious expression.

The investigation results completely exceeded their expectations.

Especially the last member of the investigation team, who just said one sentence before quietly logging off; during the entire process, Gao Gong didn’t even get a clear look at his face.

”The maker of the ’Avalanche,’ number ’0,’ is hidden in the Fortress,” the member paused and said, ”Also, the Fortress is fake; the real Fortress is sealed within the Planet Host.”

This news was even more explosive than the previous ones. The former only meant the Cyber Test Field’s experiment went wrong, while the latter meant that the Planet Host itself had issues.

If the Planet Host had problems, how could the experiment proceed!?

”Do we report to the Dominator,” Guu Yitong glanced around, ”let’s vote.”

Four voted in favor, one against, and one abstained.

The opposition was from the newly appointed Machine Prophet, who did not provide any reason.

And the abstention was from Gao Gong. His reason was quite simple; since the ’Dominator’ seems to be the superior of the ’Planet Host,’ if it intervenes, would it forcibly change the storyline?

This is what he was worried about.

And from the current perspective, the fortress is in a state of being an enemy rather than a friend, colluding with the Cloud Nobility, and frequently releasing that Golden Collapse man to attack people. According to the previous plot, it’s a standard ’traitor to the planet’.

Killing him seems to be a good thing.

After hesitating for a moment, he chose to abstain.

The meeting ended, and the ministers disappeared one by one.

In the end, only Gao Gong and Guu Yitong were left.

Gao Gong was called by the other party.

Guu Yitong remained silent for a moment and then said:

”I roughly understand why you don’t meet with me in private, and I also understand why Aramaki had to fake his death.”

Gao Gong nodded. In this state, Guu Yitong is likely able to ’see’ the Memory Worm.

It’s just unknown whether the one speaking now is him or the Memory Worm.

”Once I forget myself, a new Minister of Memory Supervision will take office.”

Gao Gong raised an eyebrow:

”What do you mean, you’re going to commit suicide?”

”You could say it’s suicide. If I die, then the one speaking now is still myself. If I don’t die—”

”Then the one speaking is someone else,” Gao Gong supplemented.

Guu Yitong’s mouth twitched, not knowing what he wanted to say, and finally said one last sentence.

”You may not trust the new Minister of Memory Supervision, but you can trust Agent J.”

...

A day later, Gao Gong sat in his exclusive minister’s office, staring at the United Squad’s files.

He discovered that having the power of a minister might allow him to do more.

Completely stopping the Cyber Tide is impossible, but limiting its scale seems feasible.

The Memory Mother awakens in the later stages of the Cyber Tide. If the scale of the Cyber Tide can be compressed, wouldn’t it delay its awakening?

”Minister, Captain Suzi is here.”

”Hmm, let her in.”

At this moment, Gao Gong was browsing through each member’s file using his ministerial authority, Agent J, Supercomputer Type 8, Desperate Realm, Ghost, etc., all were famous figures in the Six Ministries, their prowess not inferior to Yagami Suuji.

But turning to the last page, it was blank.

And it was precisely this ’blank member’ who reported the fortress incident to several ministers.

The United Squad is only accountable to the minister and has the authority to decide what to report to the minister and what not to.

And the identity of this last member is something they believed should not be reported to the minister.

”Minister,” Yagami Suuji said.

”Sit.”

Yagami Suuji shook her head, ”You were looking for me?”

”I want you to investigate something,” looking into her calm eyes, Gao Gong paused and said, ”Something related to the monsters in the starry sky.”

Hearing this, Yagami Suuji immediately became interested.

”Who does the Minister want me to investigate?”

”The Skull Society members.”

”Those radical newcomer enterprises?” Yagami Suuji has some impression of them.

”Yes, investigate their latest research, you might find something unexpected.”

”Minister, are you sure?”

”Of course.”

The reason Gao Gong was so certain is that in the previous plot, Skull Society members had developed many information weapons based on the ’Memory Worm’.

They didn’t have a dashboard and couldn’t bet on blueprints, so this research must have been ongoing secretly for some time.

”I understand.”

”There’s one more thing,” Gao Gong smiled, waved his hand, and two beautiful female players were called over by him. The cute little beauty was known as the ’PP leader’, and the flirtatious one reminiscent of Pan Jinlian was Sister Ji.

”In the future, these two will be working under you. Just give them some tasks as you see fit.”

”I don’t understand,” Yagami Suuji frowned.

”You’ll understand in time. With these two around, they’ll play an unexpected role at crucial moments,” Gao Gong said meaningfully.

Yagami Suuji was silent for a moment and then reluctantly nodded.

After dismissing the players, Gao Gong added, ”I have to go out later, and I might not return to the department for a month. Do you have anything else you want to say to me?”

Yagami Suuji, having already acknowledged Gao Gong’s strength, hesitated slightly, and for the first time, expressed her feelings after so many investigations, saying:

”Minister Aramaki might think that the more people involved, the worse it gets. As for you, Minister, you’re even more carefree.”

”But in my view, addressing even a little problem is better than nothing. Delaying things is worth it, even if it’s all in vain, and the outcome is destined to be destruction. It’s enough for personal will to be sublimated in the process.”
