Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 794: Chapter 318: Terria Ruins

(Previously, I kept confusing the Brain Domain Civilization and Artificial Data Space, but they are actually the same thing. I’ll check earlier sections and see if I can correct it, apologizing humbly~~)

A Mechanical Civilization, a Virtual Civilization, and a Biological Civilization.

Moreover, the Mechanical Civilization is a Half-Mechanical Civilization, with ties to Carbon-Based forms. The Biological Civilization follows a chaotic modification path. Theoretically, the ultimate evolutionary directions of the ’Flesh Body’ are numerous, including Bionic Man, Reproductive Life, Prosthetic Transformer, Biological Species, among others.

And then there is a Brain Domain Civilization related to ’Consciousness Upload’.

Gao Gong now finally understands why it’s necessary to involve these three civilizations. The developmental directions of these three civilizations share commonalities, yet each also possesses unique traits that align well with the ’Cosmic Relics’.

As for the three Civilization Traits, among them, the ’Emperor’s Imperial Guard’ has already been highlighted by Gao Gong, possessing quite strong combat power.

The ’Quantum Computer’ is a computational system no less than the ’Planet Computer’, though the precondition to activate it is a virtual computational space comparable to ’Cyber Space’.

And the ’Species Evolution Machine’ is an interesting entity. According to its system description, it can compensate for the defects arising from species evolution.

As for how it compensates, Gao Gong is still unclear.

’I’ll have Sister Rose research this thing later, considering I’ve already unlocked all knowledge of the ’Flesh Body Civilization’.’

The conditions to research ’Civilization Traits’ are very stringent; one must complete the collection of all Knowledge Chains and all Professional Knowledge.

Among the three civilizations, two were completed with the strong support of Gao Yuanyuan, and Gao Gong has already gathered the ’dual civilization full index’.

Just one more Professional Knowledge Chain, and the full index of three civilizations will be complete—

Electronic Doctrine (Turing Mechanism)

According to the system’s introduction, it is described like this.

Electronic Doctrine (Turing Mechanism): Humanity opened the gates to ’Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence’, but also embarked on an irreversible evolutionary path. This path, in its conclusion, means humanity’s fate is bound to be pessimistic, though not entirely without hope.

This is a ’Superstition Side’ Knowledge Chain.

”Brother, I’m sorry,” said Gao Yuanyuan apologetically, ”Every time I try to enter that giant sailboat, a golden radiance blocks my way, as if it always predicts and discovers me beforehand.”

”That’s normal. They’re all Destruction Forms, and Turing still ranks among the top Destruction Forms, so discovering you is not unexpected.”

The No. 3 Destruction Form Turing God is the consummation of this ’Superstition Side Knowledge Chain’.

And the ’Superstition Side Knowledge Chain’ has a significant feature—it seems useless on the surface. Most of the time, indeed, it’s useless, but once its usefulness is discovered, the effects are terrifying!

’Fortunately, I’ve already prepared. Among the players, at least 20 have transitioned to become Turing Priests, partaking in that global expedition.’

Gao Gong murmured to himself.

As an NPC with a system panel, he doesn’t even need to contact players directly; he can remotely manipulate them through forums.

And this manipulation cannot be detected by that ’Turing God’.

What he wants the players to do, aside from collecting information on the Turing Sect, is to gather Professional Knowledge.

This is a richly rewarding personal quest.

...

This Cyber Monk, Brain Watering, is one of the ’Underground Spies’ sent by Gao Gong.

At this moment, having finished ’teaching’, he was taking a walk on the deck.

Before his eyes, there were small sightseeing boats, sculls, flat-bottomed sailboats, old steamships, small canoes, and lifeboats. As far as the eye could see, the fleet seemed endless. On the ships were followers from around the world, living entirely on board, exuding an air mixture of fish smell and fecal odor, giving the impression of the Age of Exploration, rather than the Cyber Era.

These ships, due to different ’parishes’, were divided into distinct ’ship zones’, totaling 22 zones. On many ships, there were passages formed of sculls and iron chains.

And at the edge of Brain Watering’s vision, beyond a container freighter, he could see a ship as big as ten aircraft carriers combined, a floating fortress entirely equipped with engines.

”Such a steam punk style!”

Looking at the still-smoking ’Ark’, Brain Watering couldn’t help but remark.

Do these types of ships have combat power?

Naturally, they do not.

The Colonial Governor of Zone 1 thought so too, so he was prepared to eradicate these ’Steam Pirates’, as part of his accomplishments.

Then Brain Watering witnessed a scene he would never forget in his lifetime, as endless golden radiance rose from the ’Ark’, like a great sun. Where the radiance touched, the voice of ’Namshabu’ echoed across the skies, and all Mechanical Weapons, regardless of their level or how advanced their AI was, sank into the water like fallen rain.

It was then that Brain Watering understood why his ships had such a ’steampunk design’; this ’Radiance’ was indiscriminately lethal to any Artificial Intelligence.

Unfortunately, all the intelligent weapons he had secretly hidden were banned, causing him a toothache at the thought.

And this peculiar fleet, within two months, circled one-third of a planet.

Three Big Data Conceptual Bodies were thus lost.

The number of people on the deck gradually increased, including followers, cult prostitutes, and even ”hackers”.

”Turing Hacker”, a very niche and very special hacker profession, interestingly, it doesn’t require wearing a Network Implantation Chamber, and even, after any Prosthetic Transformation, one cannot change to this profession.

Is there actually a player in this world who doesn’t accept Prosthetic Transformation?

This was Brain Watering’s first thought after knowing the conditions to change professions.

It proved true, there really are!

Soon, a voice echoed in his head.

”Watering Master, ’Holy City’ is almost here, I’ve pulled some strings to get you on a small boat of the ’Isaiah Faction’, the boat ID is AI313541, just report the code word to get in then. I’m counting on you for my job change item!” Silver Zen

”Got it.”

In the task of ”Collecting Professional Knowledge”, Turing Hacker has a unique advantage, so when the other party approached him, Brain Watering agreed to the invitation to join forces almost without hesitation.

After all, the task rewards are rich enough, enough for two people to share.

Seeing the time was almost right, Brain Watering decisively jumped off the deck, landing on a launch, and after quite some effort through a ship pathway made of iron chains and wooden planks, he found the small yacht AI313541, rusted and peeling.

Under the crew’s watchful eyes, he reported the code word, making two hook-shaped cult gestures with his hands, then bent down and squeezed in.

On the yacht, 6 or 7 people were already sitting, all dressed in white linen cult robes, looking like medieval priests. They showed expressions of disgust when they saw Brain Watering’s brain-machine behind his head.

”Why are they all from the Isaiah Faction, my head hurts!”

Compared to these drug-addicted lunatics, Brain Watering prefers the Wolm Faction, at least with them, he can learn skills like ”Suppress AI”, and he even heard that a player learned Tier 2 mechanical repair skills.

Utilizing AI, suppressing AI, using tools for people, this is the style of this faction, they’re more like the tech geeks of the Turing Sect.

Instead, the ”Isaiah Faction” is the most disgusting. Unsurprisingly, as soon as the boat set sail, someone started ”Cyber Doping”. Their eyes were vacant, faces twisted with bizarre smiles, and finger-thick veins on their foreheads seemed to flow with brain matter, an indescribable stench assaulted the senses.

Although this is a form of cultivation in the Turing Sect, every time Brain Watering sees this scene, he feels these people are really brain-sick! Even seriously sick!

This is also why he doesn’t envy ”Silver Zen”, because to become a Turing Hacker, one must join this faction.

He is a Science Monk, not a Liberal Arts Monk.

According to ”Silver Zen”, this faction believes that language doesn’t just spread thoughts, but determines thoughts. Even the mouth is a compiler, and spoken words are a form of orally transmitted data stream, known as ”Namshabu”. In Brain Watering’s view, this is a ”language virus”.

And through training, without the aid of a ”Network Access Chamber”, the human brain’s Neural System can grasp this ”virus”, thus breaking the barrier between human and machine, even directly control and modify others’ brains.

This ability, even stronger than ordinary AI, no wonder it’s called a ”Turing Hacker”.

Legend has it that the world’s former number one hacker in Terria, and the hacker organization ”Holy City” he founded, had close ties with the Turing Sect.

...

As the boat gradually approached the shore, Brain Watering saw the former Holy City of Terria and was greatly disappointed.

Instead of a city, it was more like a giant ruin. The white marble walls became pitted and scarred, churches turned into rubble, only a few were preserved, those broken idols, shattered religious symbols, holy names covered by street graffiti, all starkly revealed the reality that this city was done for.

”Where am I supposed to find it?”

What Brain Watering was looking for was precisely the complete Holy Name needed by Silver Zen for the job transfer.

Brain Watering pressed his temple, inserted an identification chip into the brain-machine interface, and opened the ”Virtual Field of View”, immediately, streams of bizarre data flashed past.

In Cyber Space, data would transform into anthropomorphic forms, but here, data was just data, strings of characters, and religious symbols.

Based on the old era map he downloaded earlier, one landmark after another was marked out quickly.

Alphabet City

Bailuo Port

Red Sail Town

Luoshui Bridge

Soon, he arrived at a white cemetery, one of the few preserved areas inside Terria.

Upon entering, Brain Watering quickly discovered the special nature of this place.

In the Data Field of View, what was buried in these graves wasn’t bodies, but a collection of Artificial Data Bodies.
